i forgot to mention in tip#6 Please don't use "Ctrl+A" to select your model. Make selection with SketchUp "Select" tool.
I remmember having this issue a lot and coudnt figure out why... Wish I saw this video earlier. Thanks!
It helped me to check "Perspective" in the "Camera" menu, instead of "Parallel Projection". I have no idea why I had "Parallel Projection" checked, but in this video I noticed that "Perspective" was checked in the "Camera" menu, and that solved my problem. Thanks!
Thanks for Comment.
I also had this problam...i checked camara option just...and i changed it to perspective mode ,,,it ok now...
Really nice that you now have shown me the way to move a model straight to the origin with the [, that was new to me.
You made my day by fixing my clipping problem! Thanks for the excellent explaination even without voice !!!!
Thank you.
Thanks so much! I spent hours trying to resolve this before seeing your video. 46 seconds into the video, my problem was solved.
All lovers of sketchup should see this excellent tutorial. Good work and thank you.
how to press holddown press key :( .
Worked! by selecting all, unselecting my model and deleting. Thank you so much.
just the topic ive looking for, thank you very much..!
for anyone who's still having clipping issues after trying there, there is another reason for it. I just discovered it now after a lot of research. It was caused by a model from the 3d warehouse! It had some hidden things that made the model extremely large! I've been trying to unhide them but to no avail. Finally saw this feature and clicked it..under View click the Hidden Geometry. This should show the phantom models around, just click them and delete!
Thanks for sharing
omg thanks for this..it is really works for me
I never knee you could use coordinates in sketchup, cant thank you enough, really!
Thanks for watching.
Yes, often I have just restart SketchUp. I have also found doing something with the camera like switching from parallel to perspective and back again, or selecting a scene (if I have one) can change camera settings enough to negate the problem.
It can be a pain though so thank you for this video.
I forgot to mention: a common scenario (for some), model too far from origin can often occur when importing DWG autocad files into SU.
when you switch perspective to parallel view the field of view becomes "0" That's why your problem solves
THIS REALLY HELPED. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for sharing! It was number 6 for me...

Happy to help 😀
I've dealt with this for years. I only model in non perspective mode as being in perspective throws me off. There is an enderoth plugin to fix it though on sketchucation I believe. The one issue I do sometimes get is things will only move in one direction under constraints. When That happens, I just cloet and reopen sketchup.
thanks mate
Thankyou very much

I tried all your suggestions nothing worked. I then reduce the FIELD of VIEW under CAMERA to LESS than 35, to 8 and it worked. Thanks for the lead
Excellent!
but it's at 1:17 ?
I just found an ACTUAL fix of this issue.
Go to Camera > Advanced (it might be an extension that you have to Turn On first in Window > Extension Manager and there it's called Advanced Camera Tools. Since SketchUp is the author I think you don't have to download it).
Anyway, after clicking Advanced, a window shows up. In the bottom half of the window you have one box to tick - "Force". After ticking it, you can set the "Near" value based on your preference. Set it as low as you want. This directly tells the program to when to clip the model after zooming in.
DON"T CLOSE IMMEDIATELY after setting the value! Click any other line in this window first and then close, otherwise it won't save (you'll figure it out). After so many years...
Thanks! Although it's not Advanced Camera Tools but Camera Tools from thomthom.
It's available on sketchUcation for free (after registring) if anyone was wondering.
And that setting is saved only during one session. If you close the model and open it again, it resets. Still, this is a great solution.
i love it
thanks a lot
