I love the timbre of his voice and his musicianship. My one criticism would be that he tends to scoop every note that is above the passaggio.

I don't believe that your statement about Marin scooping is accurate. He seems to approach every note cleanly and doesn't even use much portamento, no less scooping. His voice is a little dry here and he's laboring, but a nice performance.
