I am an 85 year old male, ex Marine and retired USAF F4 and F111 pilot. I was always active but in recent years stopped doing pushups, though I did ride my exercise bike. Do a lot of hiking and walking. Following your plan, in 8 days I went from doing 0 pushups to 5. I stopped short of failure. Am sure I will do 10 in a few more sessions.

I'm 46 years old. 6 years ago I went from a 6'3 185 pound drug addict on my way to rehab to a 300 pound sober fat guy. I know I need to loose weight and get in better shape. Today I watched your video and decided to start with pushups using the counter to start with. After 5 sets of 10, I can really feel the burn and I plan on continuing. My biggest problem is snacking after dinner and I feel like I won't want to ruin my progress if I start working out after dinner. I quit smoking, drinking and drugs so after all that, it's time to "start" some new healthy habits.

Thanks for the motivation! Last month I watched this and I can't even do 2 reps and my form is sloppy. I wanted to build strength even though I'm just a teenager. I realized that you shouldn't just rely on your arms just lile you said but your whole body should be involved!
Now i can do 10 reps and 4 sets. Im planning to do 100 pushups someday!
Thank you for motivating me to get in shape again!
Update: i lost about 12 kg of weight
Wth and my muscle mass kinda decreased along with my body fat

This video is amazing, I'm glad I stumbled on it, I would definitely try it out, I've always wanted to do a push up but have poor upper body strength, and I'm working towards improving that, this would help. I would do it and hopefully remember to come back and drop another comment in a month or so

if we are starting with baby steps like 3:13 then how many repetitions and sets should we target on daily basis and how should the pushups & sets needs to be increased.
you mentioned 5 minutes , but one person might do 1 pushup in 5 mins while another might be able to do 5. so if I am able to do 3 sets of 5 pushups each would that be a good start ?

The girly style pushups (as Bill & Ted call them) are actually amazing for warming up too, especially when your shoulders are not in the best condition and they need to be eased into a more intense pushup routine.

Hello, so I’m currently 14 y/o and I’m doing around 100 knee push-ups, I struggle at the end a lot, i do this each day in around 10 minutes. How quick do you think I will build up strength, and what can I do to even better it?

    • @Fitfatherproject
      @Fitfatherproject  3 года назад

Keep practising, and start with at least a couple on your toes and before you know you will start getting stronger and increasing your reps.

Hello! Im pretty sure i commented about 2-3 years ago. Now im 12. Back then i wanted to become fit to join the army until i lost all motivation when my mom said "you can't even do simple chores, now you wanna join the army?" now, 2-3 years later im very determined and im gonna keep trying until i get fit! 5 push-ups a day is my goal. Ill come back when i get to that then I'll set another goal. Thanks you! Bye bye now

I understand that you probably either have heroic intentions or have a very romantic idea about what joining the military is like, but please reconsider.
War is all just kids killing other kids for the sake of some disagreement that a few old people have.
You'll get told it's about human rights, or about glory, or that you're fighting against terrorists.
The reality is the people you're fighting with are being told the exact same thing. To them, you're the terrorist. You're the person taking their rights. You're the person hurting their country and their family.
Even if your goal is to join as a support worker, like an engineer or a technician, you're still helping cause unnecessary death

@@skilletbornehey! Yeah.. I had.... Unrealistic expectations... 😂 Ive reconsidered a while ago. Now my interest has been diverted towards exploring the universe and finding what else is up there. Yes, i am still going to use this video, because its good to be fit, but won't use it to join the army. Either way i totally forgot about this video and i cant even do i single pushup still😂. Anyway, im still 13, my goals may change again. Thank you, skillet!

I watched this some months ago. I started very easy, went to knee pushups and have slowly tried to do more and more reps over time on knees. I am at 3 x 12reps of knee pushups, but I still cant do one full proper push ups. Only thing I can think of is to maybe keep trying to add more reps on the knee pushups?
Thanks for the video, really helps. I have been overweight most of my life and never known how to do a push up, so this helps.
