Thanks for touching base as we have had your family in our thoughts and prayers. Reaching out to a few people I know that can use this information, including us. Let's enjoy the day, yes!!
I'm starting to see some tomatoes blooming. Hope they set. I'll be pulling up sweet potatoes this week and planting that area with spinach or kale. Thanks Jill for showing this method. Remember y'all to Pray, Plan, Prep
Hey Jill & Greg. We are praying for cooler weather and rain. We are wanting to plant the fall garden however it's real hot and dry. We will try this Bokashi method for sure. God bless.
Thank you for that. I do make my own compost. I do save all my kitchen scraps. I even dilute milk but when it goes bad into some of the plants with water, a lot of things are dying back as you know, but things are coming back. I noticed that as well my loofah just took a big old all of a sudden I got loofah all over the place so I think I’ll get some good ones. By the time the real cold weather comes, my melons are just bursting all over the place. I actually have melons on a trellis and they’re doing really well and I have melons that sprawl got hidden in there. Humongous peppers are also just going crazy right now. I need to some peppers that I started they’re getting already the big gems, but I’ve already started some of the stuff. I have it in the cabbage and I need to go pick up at our local feed store. I am gonna pick up some more seats for onions cause you know onions I don’t last long. I should’ve started my onions a while back, butI’m a little behind but I’ll get there. Love you. Hopefully I’ll get a good sack. I got two new beds that I got to get together and have space. I want to put one of them or my loofah right but I’m gonna let the loofah finish up before I put it there and then another one on the side. I’ll probably do that one for potatoes lots to do all the time lots to do.🌱🌱🌱🌶️🥬🫑🥘
I am so thankful you and Greg taught me about the bokashi! The worms go NUTS over it! I put out a half bucket in one of my beds, and needed to add some fresh dirt about 4 days later. I was afraid it might mess things up, but, I put the fresh soil, and started to mix it in...WORMS and more worms where it had been. They scarfed that stuff down, and in 4 days, it was already gone. 😁😁My worms were huge...😂😂
Haven't cleaned up my raised beds yet. Could I cut up more tender plants and add to the bucket? Have some tomatoes rotting that had too much bug damage to use. Would those be ok? Have a wonderful time with your sister!
Been thinking of you and Greg. Was just wondering if your sister made it in ok, sounds like a fun time y'all had. Hope the weather cooperated. Been way too hot down here to plant out my containers, doggone 2nd summer.😂🥵🌴💞.
I tried bokashi couple years ago. It broke down to compost once put into the ground pretty fast, BUT, it smelled forever. I thought would be great to keep in the house, the bokashi bucket, but it eventually leaked the smell too. I much prefer worm composting.
Does this have a bad smell to it while it's fermenting? What about oils? If you had something prepared in olive oil and had some left on your plate, can you scrape that in there? Is there anything you shouldn't add to the bucket? Can this be used for garden refuse like tomato trimmings that may have blight? Wondering if the fermenting process kills the pathogens on the trimmings. Sorry for all the questions, I am very interested in trying this. :)
Thanks! Great idea!
Sending Prayers 🙏
That compost looks great! Thank you for sharing!
BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 🙏🏻🤝🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤝🏻🙏🏻
Prayers are lifted up for y'all

Mrs. JILL, I just wanted to make sure you know that you can eat sweet potatoe greens--the leaves. You can stir fry, freeze dry and put in smoothies.
Yes, we knew and I’ve been feeding a little bit to my chickens. Thank you so much.

You sure can gal. Thank you.
Where do you get the bocoshi bran?
Amazon has it!

We put everything!
If bakasi bran promotes a fermentation process, what keeps it from producing gases and blowing the bucket lid off ?
It’s the type of fermentation that’s happening
Also it’s not a long term process. The lid will allow a little eascape
Thanks for the reply!
How deep do you need to bury it?
About 6 to 12 inches
Ewww😅 But hey free fertilizer
For real!!!
