    im 15 mins in and i have to admit the entire set-up alone, witht he gorgeous table, the historical background and real people being part of the game, has got me pretty excited already. Very curious about the gameplay itself, but for now i have to get to work, will get back to this later for sure

    Really excellent game & scenario. The wagons must've been pushing through some knee deep muck they went so slow but it did keep me on edge the whole way through. Regarding the roadway, the road planks you used to use, as most everyone else, really puts a dent in what can otherwise be really inspiring terrain. This loose grain dirt (?) is far superior in appearance. If you get a chance, could you tell me what you used & how you laid it down , and how well it cleaned up? Cheers.

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  Месяц назад +1

      Really pleased you enjoyed it, it was great fun to play. So the dirt roads are made from a mixture of earth 9thats been drie out in an oven then sieved), ground coffee (genuienly its just to get rid of the earthy smell), and scatter from my remaining tubs that are nearly empty (acts like weeds etc). I apply it with a spoon tracing out the area i want then use a soft brusy to move it about. once the game is done and its time to pack up i take all the other scenery off the table, brush as much as i can into a container and store it for another day. The rest i just shake off in the garden, and its done. Hope this helps.

      @@7thson726 Thanks for all that. It looks like really good, black garden soil, lucky you. In my old gaming club, in a game store, we were using really nice (& not cheap) railroad terrain dirt, in the same way, except we had a task devoted "Super Sweeper", a hand held electric vacuum, to suck up all the remaining detritus. I'll have to think about a source of good, fine soil, that wouldn't attract vermin to the table overnight, since as a solo gamer I can rarely finish a game in one go. When will I get to see a battle utilizing the gorgeous Roman Bakery I so envy? Hugs.

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  Месяц назад +2

      @@levsharus5899 Thats a fair comment. So there are key differences between NMTBH and how it represents units and households. I like using NMTBH for smaller battles where models count as invidiuals, contributing to the attacks of the unit. Where as HC uses an abstraction that it doesn't matter how many models are in the unit, only the size of the unit on the battlefield (the frontage) if i were to extrapolate the forces that i was playing with here into NMTBH then i would likely have twice as many units on the battlefield. Also the mechanisims in NMTBH, while fun, make for awkward editing, ive tried it and wasn't happy with how the video was going so left it.
      NMTBH can be used for large gaems, i've seen it done, i just enjoy HC for those, personal taste i guess
      I think both systems have advantages and disadvantages, it just depends on what you are trying to depict on the table.
      I have thought of trying to refilm a game of NMTBH but i have alot of games palnned and its fitting it in :)
