- Great Adventure is home to a great variety of world class roller coasters, but none of them come close to touching the absolute insanity that is El Toro! Opening in 2006, this Intamin Pre-Frabricated wooden coaster is one of only 4 Intamin ever built- and this one is by far the best! It's got one of the most insane first drops on the planet, which is best experienced in the back row!

The drop, first 2 hills and the rolling thunder hill seem like some of the strongest airtime moments ever! Absolutely insane coaster
For sure.
My first ever ride on El Toro was a night ride in the back seat, absolute insanity!
MAN I miss this ride, that first drop's airtime in the back seat is enough to make your soul leave your body 💀
First time seeing the back row. The first drop and first two hills look like the single best airtime moments in the world. I want to ride this so badly.
finally a POV where its not from a pov of someone's chest. Its actually what I'm going to see. love it.
I like how you can see the guy in front of you raising his hands but when they go through the structure they go down pretty fast 😂
For good reason. Intamins envelopes aren't always safe. I smacked my fingers on Balder.
@@Minnesinger1 I smacked my fingers on Wodan.
@@Minnesinger1owwwww

Me personally I move up one row to the middle of the back car it’s the smoothest and still delivers all the elite elements
I think I should start doing that because the last day I went was September 16th and the last row was so rough I got a headache after and I ride last row a lot
Same. Second to back row is the best.
Ditto. Avoid the wheel seats. This is by far my favorite woodie
I think this video just moved El Toro further up my bucket list
Once this ride gets going it doesn't let up and the intensity just keeps racheting up. My first ride on this was at night time and I had no clue where I was or what had happened by the end of it. A wonderful roller-coaster which deserves all the praise it receives.
i remember riding this in 07 the second season, before the elevator lift didn't even slow down at the top which brought the ejector hills more enjoyable especially in the evening when the cars are all warmed up. That last ejector hill on this ride was one of the most intense moments ive ever experienced on any ride ever.
Im definitely glad they fixed it and didn't do any changes to differ the ride when it derailed.
After watching these videos, we decided to drive 8+ hours and try the park. It was a great ride. The first hill is way steeper than it appears here....very nemesing in person when you are looking at the ride from far away. However, I did not get the hangtime people have been eluding to. Maybe they were more aggressive on the brakes the day we went? Also, there were some fairly rough spots on the neck. That being said, it's an amazing coaster. This and Kingda Ka made it well worth the drive.
The first drop on this ride is one of my favorite coaster moments of all time, it's so much steeper than it seems. It feels like you're straight up falling
The second to last row is the best seat because it has all the benefits of the back without being a wheel seat
The drop in the back row , like you really can’t put it into to words . The first time i ever rode it all i can tell yall for those havent rode it is that i literally peed on my self 😹😹😹. It’s so intense and the hills afterwards omgggggg just the whole ride is incredible
Oh man you get real real close to those hand rails
all Love all the Rollercosteres very much alsow
Thanks for another great POV on a fantastic coaster! ❤
BTW watch the dude in the Grey sweatshirt - he never keeps his hands up. Pretty funny.
Was laughing at that the whole time, dude was afraid of losing his arms 😂
@@CarolinaPride95 Well Intamins envelopes aren't always safe. I smacked my fingers on Balder.
It's rough, but excellent
It's hilarious I've been on T-express multiple times, but never been on El-Toro even though I'm only two hours from Great Adventure. (Always closed every time I get there :( )
I'm still really curious how they compare though since most people don't have both credits...
I live in Brisbane, but I travelled to America in 2010 and went to SFGA. This was definitely the best coaster at the park and this and Rolling Thunder are the only wooden coasters I’ve ridden outside of Australia where I have now ridden Leviathan and the Wood Wild Mouse at Luna Park Sydney
How do our woodies compare to theirs?
Leviathan is amazing but I really don't have much to compare with on what I've actually ridden compared to all the POVs and coaster reviews I've seen on RUclips. Though I would have to say Leviathan is a 10 and El Toro is a 9.
Leviathan is great if you love tight maneuvers while El Toro is focused more on airtime and large steep drops @@ThemeParkOgre
@@williamfletcher934 Interesting! My woodie experience is limited to Aus still sadly
This ride is fantastic! Definitely a must ride for all coaster enthusiasts out there!

Riding in the Kia Soul train adds more airtime personally
Was this recorded a year ago? I don't think the second train doese'nt have the Kia ad anymore
Yes it was filmed last year
Absolute best seat on that ride!
2nd to last is the best :D
Yes, back row is crazy. It’s a little rougher and you get whipped over the drop
More like el broko bono.
ah yes, those kias must have insane suspension
Voyage>>>
Me when I lie:
I can’t get over the moan on the drop right before the S turn! I hope that wasn’t Taylor!
I honestly don’t get why people say Toro is rough. Even the turnaround is quite enjoyable in my opinion.
It's just so aggressive that it's probably too much for some people
It's sweater season already
Those test dummies at the end were pretty creepy...
Back use to be amazing on this right. But at this point it literally beats you to death. Which is crazy cause they just retracted it
Imagine this when it's had a full RMC treatment!
This is a legendary layout that shouldn't be touched, IMO. It already looks twice as intense as Jersey Devil!
The only thing I'd want RMC to change about this is maybe add an inversion after the first turnaround and before the Rolling Thunder hill. Maybe a double-inversion element like the one on Untamed at Walabi Holland; even a stall wouldn't match the aggressiveness of this ride lmao.
Actually, an Iron Gwazi-style death roll after the first turnaround *perfectly* matches this ride's aggressiveness.
The drop doesn't look to bad the iron rattler at fiesta Texas is a 175ft drop and this is practically the same. Only thing i think this coaster has on the IR is multiple drops afyer the inital one but thats it.
El Toro is such a fantastic wooden coaster! Perfect fit for Six Flags!
I just ride El Toro for the first time this month. FANTASTIC ride. Neck and neck with Ghostrider for me. I was shocked to find i liked El Toro more than my one and only early morning ride on The Voyage.
Is this open for this year? I’m going the end of July
I would like this better if it was like Steel Vengeance
The train seened kind of quiet for El Toro.
And your lap bar didn't pop up? Incredible.
(Sarcasm)
Would you say its still in your top ten?
yes!
It is sad, but I am almost positive this is no longer Sarah’s number 1😢 I am pretty sure it is The ride to happiness.
Back car middle row is better than back row because you're not in a wheel seat
in my personal opinion, voyage, TEXAS STINGRAY (idc what people say) and boardwalk bullet were more enjoyable than toro.
Kia advertisements on the trains. Stay classy. 🙄🙄🙄👎👎👎
They took them off this is an older video
Hard to trust a coaster with 2 major incidents in the last few years. I truly don't think intense wooden coasters like this are just meant to be. This, Son of Beast, Lightning Rod etc.
Voyage is far more intense and safe.
So far, at least. I don't think Voyage is even remotely as rough/damaging on the track though. You don't have your upstop wheels being the only thing holding you in while going at high speeds. Or insane injector on that. I mean, Voyage has a few pops of airtime but nothing as intense as El Toros.@@justacat472
