The reason why jotaro sent koichi instead of going himself or josuke is because of that bloodline connection the every member of the same bloodline seem to have that they mentioned in part 3 and that its likely Giorno would have sensed them coming to him and possibly ran away making any attempt to find out if he was a threat or not harder. plus he did also state that he really is a reliable guy and in their last fight against kira so he was the best option.

i think people don't give part 6 the credit it deserve just bc of some bad fights that will probably be shorten for the anime, while having the best ending. Part 7 is the peak tho, i can't think of one bad thing about it; part 8 is very cool, too, everything is very interesting and it's now on the final stretch and is already one of my favorites.
