That of a Cold War incident, which allegedly resulted in the loss of a number of Soviet soldiers. A mystery known in smaller circles simply as the Plane in the Forest.

I love the sound of howling that a dog makes when you sneak up and enter it from behind..... Before you say anything, no, I didn't ask its permission, but I mean c'mon, if a dog is laying around being all sexy and shit, lifting its tale and flashin' its badge at me everytime I walk by its basically an invitation!! It DEFINITELY knew what it was doing being all flirty, tempting me with that tongue while drinking outta a puddle, then sniffing a sheep's ass while Im watching, trying to make me all jealous.... it was TOTALLY askin for it, I basically didn't have a choice, so you really cant blame me for sneaking up on that ass and smashing it hard and deep, over and over- givin the ol' half, half, whole stroke until I pulled out like a gentleman and sprayed rope all over that hairy back!! How considerate of the aliens to gently lower the aircraft to the ground so the Russians could reuse it afterwards. They're probably the kind of people who return shopping carts to the shopping cart return spots.

As a cart pusher,I disagree. The aliens are the ones who not only return the carts to the return,but also get the carts from the parking lot. Truly a level of kindness no person could achieve.

Hi,there .I started following this channel three years ago & haven't stopped watching you guys ever since.Alwalys great content.
In Alaska where I used to live, I've seen bush pilots hit a headwind just right and set down a bush plane in a matter of a few feet, some areas have competitions to find the pilot that can land a plane in the shortest area, the current record is out of Valdez, at 9 feet 5 inches, (roughly 2.87 meters) essentially sticking the landing, rather than a rolling stop like most aircraft. Is it possible that the pilot did something similar in this case?

Good explanation for landing in a tight spot, but why would the soldiers on board leave their packs and weapons behind? No soldiers on earth would leave behind essential equipment, especially weapons, after landing literally in the middle of nowhere, hundreds if not thousands of miles away from the nearest town.
But how did he get that far off course?
You Mention some good points, however the AN 2 is Not a Small 'Bush Plane.' It is 36 feet Long, (12 Metres) and has a wingspan of 54 Feet (18 Meters.) To land it requires 705 Feet (215 Meters.) It has a payload of 4,720 lbs (2,140 kg.)
I seen something like that done before, but on the case of the B-52 I can't even begin to see it as possible.
I watched the Enemy Known episode again. For some reason that story about the B52 freaked me out each time. I’m glad you did this one. This creepy too.

@@florAguilar24 During the Vietnam War, a USAF B-52 Stratofortress reported being trailed by an unknown contact, before they disappeared from radar. A team of Green Berets were sent in around its last reported position to investigate, and they found it lying on the jungle floor: But oddly enough, there were no broken branches or fallen trees indicating it crashed. In fact, it was resting on its belly perfectly. The Green Berets blew their way inside and found the deceased crew still sitting in their seats as if they were doing their usual tasks at hand, but their bodies were horribly cut up and bruised as if they were attacked by some animal. The Green Berets, unnerved by the situation, collected dog tags and set charges on the B-52 to destroy it (which they did). However, nearly the entire team that was sent in were all killed or died under mysterious circumstances afterwards.
@@florAguilar24 not sure. It felt like it could happen. Every time I watched the story it felt real. It could have been my imagination running away. I have heard other channels talking about strange things happening in Vietnam. This was the first time I heard this story and felt something out of a movie. Maybe it was the art work? Maybe it was the story telling. The story felt tense. If it’s just a story or if it happened, Bed I Time Story’s did there job. 😃

It’s been done by every RUclipsrs and their uncle. And time a plane vanishes over vast chunks of ocean, it obvious it sunk after a crash. Otherwise why would 90 percent of plane mystery’s be over water.

Whatever the cause of this incident, I would posit that such incidents are likely more common than suspected. It is possible other planes might have been set down in the oceans, or some equally remote locale and subsequently undiscovered.
yeah it could be a weather phenomenon where the air temperatures and pressure made it so that it could travel much farther than it would commonly go.

It’s a big place, with a large but spread out population, with lots of geographic and demographic diversity. It’s not surprising so much stuff happens there

I know of crashed ww2 bomber far out in the wilderness near a very popular National Park. It's not exactly a secret, the military finished any recovery effort shortly after it happened. However it never made any newspaper that I know of and seemingly everyone forgot about it. Then a few locals rediscovered it in the 90s. Ever since then it has been a secret spot only shared amongst a small circle of locals. It made it to me in the mid 00s because I was a local of the area (before I later moved), a voracious hiker, and my family has deep roots in the area. The friend who told me and i resolved to go see it one summer. He was an active marathon runner and I had done my fair share of stomping up mountainsides in the recent past, despite this, we could not make it to the spot. It lays a dozen miles past the mountain lake terminus of one of the hardest hiking trails in the whole park, we did get past that area. But after that we discovered the area surrounding the wreck is a series of ungodly ascents and descents not accurately portrayed by the topo maps. We had near run ourselves to complete exhaustion just attempting the first 2km section after the lake so we called it off and went back to the lake to overnight and then return. We returned so thrashed and injured (sunburnt, dehydrated, cut up from bushwalking, and the entire soles of both my feet became giant blisters that then excruciatingly popped halfway back) that we never attempted it again. It's a deathtrap and after our attempt I knew why it's kept secret and I had a new inkling as to the fate of a few familiar names that had gone missing over the years. If I hadnt seen photos of it nestled in the jprecarious and jagged terrain I would think it was a cruel joke. I hope the location of the plane is still a secret known to a handful because something like that is too enticing for people not to throw away their lives getting to it.

Your statement about the AN-2 stall speed isn’t quite right, generally a stall occurs when the relative airflow over the wings is slow enough that you experience boundary layer separation and the wing stops generating lift. In something like a biplane this speed is typically lower because of the huge effective wing area to generate lift.
It is possible that the aircraft was loaded in a condition where the center of gravity was dangerously close to the center of lift (center of pressure to the pedants) such that in a stall the aircraft wouldn’t want to tip nose down out of the stalled condition. This means you could have a situation where if the plane had an engine failure and the crew trimmed the plane nose up, it could have rode down to the ground darn near vertically, and been intact when it got to the ground.
My theory is the crew bailed when they ran low or out of fuel and then the aft loaded plane fell mostly vertical into the forest, it’s possible the latches would have closed and locked after the crew exited like on other aircraft, or there was slight damaged which caused a warping of the airframe and jammed the door shut.

Unlikely but possible. Atleast for the landing part. Doesn't explain how a plane with a range of less than 1,000 kilometers traveled 12 times that distance.

@@skylined5534 like I said, it’s possible at least. If it was hauling something like ammunition or something else suitably heavy they could have been fine on takeoff but as they consumed fuel the center of gravity would have shifted further and further back until the plane was dangerously tail heavy.
If they had a headwind and burned excessive amounts of fuel the crew could have been left facing a crash landing into a forest at night when they ran out of fuel, instead choosing to bail out and take a relatively safe parachute ride to the ground. The plane ran empty and more or less pancaked flat down among the trees.
So bizarre. Do you think stories from the early to later 20th century in Russia are more common and mysterious due to it being cut off - or severely restricted - to a lot of the world? Could that be how tales grow and evidence becomes harder to get?

@@UncleBoom yes. When has that stopped anything? Dyatlov Pass story was known globally since it happened. But really exploded after the Soviet Union fell. People like Donnie Eichar got all of the documents and information he could and he even went there. He doesn’t speak the language. Maybe since there were no bodies it wasn’t as interesting.

I would say what happens in Russia is not different than what happens in they U.S. (due to geographical size).
I would suggest Russia has been Less efficient in keeping a lid on mysterious event's.
Any type of odd event in the US there's a team out within minutes to. Cordon off secure the area before the media gets involved.
Same might be said for Russia.
But people involved in the "clean up" of such events are not "handled" correctly leaks happen (details about the event) occur.
This never happens in the U.S
However the U.S Roswell event is a good example of what happens if an odd event is not secured in time and staff involved are able to speak to the media..
Man, it seems like a lot of creepy stuff happens in Russia! I've never heard this story before, and I'm glad for this episode. The alien abduction theory is tempting, thought the more mundane explanation is probably more likely. But that doesn't explain why the hell the pilot would've flown the plane out there in the first place!
Exactly the point I was about to make bud. Ok, so there's a possibility that a good pilot could have glided that distance if the weather was in their favour and yes a good pilot may have been able to get it down with minimal damage but why the hell were they there in the first place, if they'd encountered a problem with the plane you'd simply loop back to your departure location or continue to the destination if it was that close, not fly and glide nearly 12,000 miles away. Russia is like the US, there's thousands if not hundreds of thousands of miles of wilderness, perfect location for things that don't want to be seen to hide out.
Neither have I. My theory is that the plane might have been carrying some top secret technology for the Soviet Union. There is a lot of information still not disclosed to the public dating from that period, lot of covert projects. Plus this was the time of the Cold War and the Space Race. I wouldn’t be surprised that’s what happened to the crew. Although it doesn’t explain why the seatbelts were found still fastened, if that wasn’t an embellishment added on over time.
Russia is huge, spans 11 time zones. Lots of it uninhabited. lotta potential for odd situations.
Mind, the thing about military operations is that they are most always controlled information and so we cannot readily verify anything. Militaries lie all the time, even to themselves! What is the best way to protect a secret? Don't let anyone but the people who HAVE to know know, and create false reports to keep the rest from knowing. If the only people who know the truth keep quiet, then it extremely difficult to prove it didn't happen as claimed by the false reports. This applies to everything "in the records." For all we know, the truth is the plane was on a secret delivery mission to a secret Siberian location, crashed and wrecked, and the pieces of the crew were recovered in secret. However, nothing says the official report cannot be written to say the plane was flying to a known base, went missing, and was found intact without crew in the opposite direction. As long as the person writing the fake report doesn't tell anyone it is fake...

Interesting, whether "true" or not. Much like the scene in "Close Encounters of the Third kind" in which ships and planes are found in inexplicable places, just the idea of this having happened is quite fun to consider.
I agree with your 'Close Encounters' ref. that was my immediate thought when viewing, this is potentially a very worrying tale.
I like this channel, just for thinking about possibilities but most of these are known hoaxes or obviously fake but he pretends like the info didn't certainly come from a fiction writer.

Close encounters is based on reports many have made. It seems unlikely there's be so many strange reports of the same sort of thing with nothing behind it.
I'm sending this video to my relative in Russia. He was in the USSR Military intelligence unit around about that time. I'll see if he knows anything about the Siberian A2 Antonov. I agree that it is a durable plane, has good high lift and landing capacity in areas that have bad runways, but in a forest is a bit much.
Ask him if he might be privy to a super secret Soviet moon landing that supposedly took place back in October of 1968 where both Cosmonauts were killed (thus the cover up)? The wreckage & dead bodies were discovered near the landing sight of Apollo 17 (supposedly). Both Apollo 17 astronauts claimed to have seen these shadowy figures circling them on the Lunar Surface & from within their landing module. Freaky & creepy story. Will its whole truth ever be revealed?
I doubt that if he knows anything, he would tell you about it. If there's any truth to this story , it may still be a classified issue in Russia.

This reminds me of the guy who lives in a parked Boeing 727 in a forest in Portland OR. Hilariously his name is Bruce Campbell. It's a pretty cool place to live. I'm jealous.
The Russian Wildlands scare the hell out of me, and that's without the spoopy stuff.
It's very similar to parts of Canada too, people forget how much empty land there is in north America too.

Yeah, in this instance "soldiers bullshitting other soldiers" seems a lot more likely than any other explanation.
Another explanation may be that they carried the plane inside the forest in pieces and built it there and placed all the stuff inside, like a film set. The question is why anyone would do that, of course.
Or, since it is a story originating in military gossip, it could all be fake news. Anyone that served in the military or knows people who serve is aware that there is no shortage of outlandish stories shared by the people in the camp. Seems to be a common theme among the militaries of all countries.
Or the plane landed and then the forest grew around it! Or maybe not...
My father stationed at an Air Force base in the 1980s which handled nuclear weapons, and in one part of the base there were these cement buildings which had no known use to them, their doors were welded shut, the windows cemented in, there was no visible way to access them. And there were all kinds of rumors about what these buildings were, one of them was a theory that there some kind of government project for controlling the country in event of nuclear war, and people would talk about “four corners” meaning that there were four sets of these buildings in Washington state, Maine, Florida, and California.
Years later after my father left the Air Force he found a book written about the early days of Air Force nuclear weapons, and it turns out the buildings were originally just storage for nuclear weapon cores. They were stored in vaults in the buildings and brought out to arm nuclear weapons in alert air craft, then the Air Force changed the design of weapons and so the old buildings were unneeded, so they were sealed and abandoned. And there were in fact four facilities that housed these cores.
So military rumor is something that happens

We once came across a plane sitting on its nose in the High Sierra mountains of California. A few people were standing around looking ok. The plane did not look damaged or broken in any way, except the nose of course.
Really enjoyed this and I always love it when you post a new story. It is a true testament to the reach and quality of your work when only a few hours after a new post goes live there is lively debate on these posts, and internationally!
I've not heard this story before. Very interesting. I always find the stories of planes/ships etc found in mysterious circumstances without their crew intriguing.
I am now living in the spot that I've been living in for the last two and a half years and the week that I have moved in here I was doing a lot of cleanup and I stumbled across your channel I've said this before but the way you approach is subject you make it very believable and I do not doubt these stories at all as I've had some crazy encounters in my life that I cannot explain. There's a whole big parallel reality that has juxtaposed to us. With your counts along with this channel you expose it
This reminds me of the story of my fluid dynamics professor and how his mini Cooper mysteriously relocating itself from the university's staff car park to the roof of the lecture center.
It goes without saying that the roof was an area with little in the way of personal access and definately no road access.
The car itself was left unattended ony for a 4 hour period. On appeal for information no witnesses came forward.
Even the university cctv network caught no footage that could provide an answer to the mystery.
Most mysteriously of all, the campus rugby team, who were training on the field near the carpark at the time, comprising of many reputable people with mechanical & technical skills, security personel and some students of the professor himself, claimed to have seen nothing suspiscious.
How the car was able to relocate itself remains a mystery to this very day. 🤔😏

I remember this story it was previously mentioned in Enemy Unknown after the Green Berets found the crashed B52
I thought it was that story at first and thought to myself, "wait, I seen this before." Then I checked to see it was an all-new episode and was like, "Fuck yeah!"
Speaking about aliens, would like to see these as episodes:

This was a very bizarre, yet entertaining story. I love the way you have narrated the story along with slick animations. Amazing as usual.
Bedtime stories does better illustrations, but wartime stories kills it in the animation department
One thing i could also imagine, is that an old, surplus Antonov was placed in the woods in the depths of Siberia, as a target, or as a part of a training excercise, maybe to train bomber pilots, or special forces, or for a (nuclear?) weapons test, but then the endeavor was just given up, or endes up not damaging the plane, and the was plane forgotten about.
This could explain a variety of things like:
The plane being set somewhere it could not have landed: they airdropped it in via a big helicopter, something the soviets did a lot.
:Flight controls being engaged: Who cares what the plane is set for, if you sling it under a Mi26 ?
The flight report not mentioning anything out of the ordinary, and being wildly out of date: Just a log from one of its last flights, left behind in a condemned plane
Weapons and Gear being left in the plane: maybe it was needed for the test/exercise
The hush-hush nature of the operation: As the paratroopers were on their mission, the branch/government office that put the plane there likely called into the airbase and told them that it was a secret affair to keep it that way, maybe because it was irradiated, maybe because it was part of some secret survival training.
Don't forget lack of communications between different part of the forces. Those responsible for the test never told those in charge of the recovery operation what it was for.
Only 3 B52-A's were built as test planes, and they are accounted for. It would have to have been a B52 or a B52C, D, E, F or G model. One B52-A was refitted to drop the X-1.

I think you guys are my favorite channel on all of RUclips. I mainly fall asleep to horror narrations (cryptid, haunting & Deep Woods) and watch Top10s videos during the day but Bedtime Stories is by far my favorite channel to date. I know a lot of work goes into each video but I wish we could get more videos per month, like 1 a week 😂

The An-2's lack of a published stall speed doesn't mean what you think it means. When flying on the back end of the envelope the plane will require more power, and thus more fuel, to stay in level flight. Yes, it can remain controllable at speeds low enough that a strong enough wind will push it backwards, but this isn't the most fuel efficient way to fly.
It can also technically fly backwards with a strong enough headwind. Seen videos of it.

Seems perfectly plausible for an An-2 to have plonked down in the middle of the woods if the wind was blowing enough that it could make a controlled 'stationary' landing in some trees; certainly couldn't take off again though unless the pilots can control the wind.
You should do a video about the Chupacabra, both the American one and the Latin American one since they both look very different, the American one looks more dog like while the Latin American one is a lot more bizarre, creepy and alien looking, with big red eyes, greenish scaly skin, with big spikes running down its back
My memory is of this is a bit dated so I might have forgotten a few details, but I remember as a child in Puerto Rico around 2008 I was at a Burger King late at night, I'd say around 9pm or 10pm so we were pretty much the only people out on the road during that time, this Burger King is next to a grassy field and I notice something moving through the tall grass in the distance, I see it get up and it looks almost humanoid and it stares back at our car before making a run for it into the darkness of the night while still on its two legs, ever since that day I've been wondering what the hell did I just see, maybe I was so tired that I started seeing things, but whatever it was it wasn't human.
I've encountered many things while I used to live on the island as well as heard stories from my parents and grandparents of supernatural encounters, one of those was a UFO encounter over my grandparent's house, it flew pretty darn close over the house. But the most interesting one was one story dad told me about a UFO crash that happened in Lajas, PR, and he said the boom was so loud it shook the classroom, when he left the school he went to investigate and upon discovering the crash site he said the place was swarming with black vehicles and men in suits, when one of the men caught him the man scolded him and told him to scram and run away.
Honestly some of the other stuff you brought up sounds pretty interesting, too, like the Inkerman and Cerisoles, the Zebrina, and the Joyita, even if there isn't much information to be had.
I was excited to see this new video posted today. I was not disappointed. Excellent as always.

Think the cauldrons are antediluvian and can rise power up and then act together to zap incoming threats like an asteroid or other. Tunguska was a falling meteorite that was taken out by the cauldrons.
Source: the areas native tribal peoples who have multiple eye witness accounts of what happened that day and it sounds like they thought the earth was ending.

Reminiscent of the "cornfield bomber" were an unpiloted F-106 landed in a Montana cornfield.
One question: were the fuel tanks empty, 3/4, or reasonably full?
I guess they would have checked that but “forgot” to mention it. Anything is possible with the Soviets.

So many crazy stories, like when the americans drop a nuke on Canada, The 1950 B-50 nuclear loss incident. The bomb didn't contain a plutonium core but the explosion was still massive. Apparently the pilots had some difficulty maintaining altitude so they choose to jettison the nuke they were carrying over the St-Lawrence river.
It happen just in front of my hometown(Rivière-du-Loup), my grand-parents would sometime talk about it, we all thought it was just an urban legend. But it is very real.
This guy is my favorite narrator. He's up there with that Attenborough fellow.

My guess was that the plane was to be used (or actually was used) for some kind of secret weapons test and purposely placed there. Likely a microwave based weapon which would explain some of what was found.

There are trees that grow very fast, maybe they just grew around the plane...
And they might have landed on a snowdrift and when the snow melted it sank between the trees.
An old guy that I met at Kent State told me that he drove a dogsled in Alaska in the '50's. In '52 he was taking heavy rubber equipment tires to Fairbanks. On a return trip south, he saw that the trees looked disturbed. When he investigated, he found an L4(Piper Cub) among the trees. He found one of the guys was alive, but had a broken Arm and jaw. The other soldier was dead. He took the survivor to Elmendorf AFB. At that time you got $150 to bring in a commie POW, but the base CG said there was no reward for rescuing their people. A Colonel finally got him $150 then wanted him to bring in the dead guy, which he did for $200. After that he took the wings off the airplane and also brought that back for $200. Those two jobs netted a lot more than trapline work, he said.

Firstly, love your videos, really appreciate the time, effort and care the team put into them 💖 secondly, I have a suggestion for a vid, in 1942 a US air crew mysteriously disappeared from an L-8, otherwise known as a ghost blimp. The circumstances around the disappearance have always struck me as very weird and it's a really interesting footnote in history, cheers

I don’t know I think the New England region of America is very spooky. I should know I’m from Connecticut and New England is well known for the number of strange phenomena that have been reported in that part of America. Lots of ghost stories, cryptid sightings, a fair number of UFO sightings and a host of colorful people like the darn man and the Leatherman, the latter who may have been a Québécois possibly from a settlement with a high number of Québécois such as Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Oh and I can’t forget about the mysterious monuments like the Newport tower and Gungywamp. Lots of controversy surrounding Gungywamp from what I heard.

Heeeey, I have a related story, I wish I had more details, but unfortunately it took place in Ghana in the 90s. I have a friend who moved to the US, and apparently this was big news in his settlement and he saw it himself, part of why he became an airline pilot was the fascinating it caused but:
In the middle of a dense part of the Ghanan jungle, was... a Cesna, not a huge Cesna, but not a small one. It was sitting clean, new, landed perfectly in a forest. There was no way to taxi, no way to land, and even if the plane had come down totally vertically it would probably have been caught in the foliage. The entire city he grew up in was talking about it, and he went and played on it and in it. When he came back the next day, with more people to go see the cesna again, the plane was gone, completely removed. Its tires still had indentations, the area was still clear, but its like the Cesna was there and gone again.
I'll be honest, It's not first hand, but the guy was always a nice, responsible guy. I've got little reason to distrust him. But it's certainly outrageous if true.
My problem with this story is that we have no firm proof about what the plane actually carried. At no point do we have something that shows that human forces did not do it. Aside from the explanations provided, it's still possible that the plane could have been helicoptered into place for some reason. We don't have definite proof of a plane manifest so know what or who was aboard is impossible.
That's assuming that the story is even true. Supposedly, it in an area thousands of miles from any military or civilian airport, and it's beyond the aircraft's maximum flight range.
Taking it in by helicopter would be a stretch too, since helicopters have less operating range than a fixed wing aircraft.
