(английский перевод) My grandfather did not fight, no. But he also contributed to the victory, he was a railroad worker. He repaired the railway so that the trains would run, carry reinforcements, ammunition, and so on. Grandma long life and health! I'm 36, I cried like a girl. Slipper Radio, who wrote this song and sang to Sabaton, who translated and performed a huge respect for such a masterpiece !!! Peace for everyone

You'll like Stalingrad, Panzerkampf (Kursk 1943), Night Witches (588th Bomber Squadron) and Attack of the Dead Men (Osowiec 1915).
All great ones about Russia/Soviet Union in both World Wars.
Here's the thing about Barbarossa, Stalin had prior warning of the attack but chose to ignore it thinking Hitler would never break the 1939 non-aggression pact.
Stalin's purges of the Red Army also did a lot of damage as well, many capable commanders were purged due to Stalin's paranoia.

Are there anyone who could provide translations for her videos? I would really love to understand her videos, but my russian skill isn’t thay great.
She remembers her father, who "met" that war carrying his service as a border guard. He returned home one-handed and almost without fingers on remaining hand - the result of close grenade explosion.
He has many to say his children, and she clearly remembers his stories. And now in this very rough video she feels like she watching these stories with her father's eyes.
No large scale combats, just fragmentary episodes, as if they were visible with person's eyes.
She was born in November 1944, approx 1/2yo before the end of war.
After the song she explains her emotions and thanks the "Sabaton" and a person who recommended her to react this song. Also she talks about her feelings on the movies about the WWII.
Most emotions she got at the scenes of close combat 1-vs-1, where wounded Soviet soldier catfights equipped German one. "Oh, our poor soldiiiiiers... "
She even took several pauses (removed on editing) to calm down and wipe the unstoppable tears
Sidenote: before retirement she served at the recruiting/draft agency of our DoD (so-called "military commissariat")...

As a American that has served in the US Army may I say to you thank you and thank you to your father for his service. Their is much to be debated about the Soviet Top Leadership but as for the Men and Women that stood their ground. I have nothing but the upmost respect. If it wasn't for the heroic actions taken by the Soviet people like your father my grandfather on the US front would have never stood a chance. Always take pride in your history!
And I was most moved when she remembered all the horrors of the war, shouted - forgive us soldiers, that you had to die unarmed to stop the Germans. She feels guilty that so many young boys have died and that she cannot help them. Because they literally stopped tanks with their hands. She screams as if trying to shout out to the dead boys.
P.S. I remember how veterans told that they stopped tanks by clogging the exhaust pipe at full speed. Do you even imagine all this horror?
I don‘t understand a single word what she says but … u got my like
Her father participated in WWII and as a child she listened to his stories about how our boys, men, old men defended Moscow from the Nazi war machine with almost bare hands, while women and children worked at the factory
and produced military equipment. This war is a great grief of our country, because ~30 million people died in it.

My great grandfather served in German army during the WWII, he was forcefully conscripted at age of 18. He served as tank commander later in war but he saw the horrors of Eastern front. From Moscow to Kursk (before transfering to Italy and then to France). Changed multiple tanks, several times injured and survived. Finally in 1945 he and his crew abandon they Panther tank, due lack of fuel and shortly after surrendered to American forces. He hated nazis, gestapo - SS, some of his comrads even make SS officers dissapear (you know what i mean), at the time when he was deployed to Normandy, he had short reunion with his girlfriend (my grand-gradmother), ironically when he left, he wouldnt know that she end pregnant, he didn't hear that she was pregnant and wasnt even there when my grandfather was born, he spend several months as POW but was released. Coming home to 1946, only to find little over one year old son. When i was reading his diary i was crying like a baby. He droped on his knees watching his son. He survived brutal war, from age of 18 to 22 he saw hell. In 1949 he got another son, three years later in 1951, he died in car acident, truck hit car that he and his friend were in, they both died on spot. Surviving the war only to die in car accident. He was ashamed that he was part of that war, of all uknown soldiers in allied and soviet tanks that he and his crew killed. But it was kill or be killed.
Damn, thess automatic translation often makes no sense but we all around the world feel the Sabaton songs. But this song must be great for every russian and yeah, damn I want to be there when they will play it live in Russia - It will be awesome ♥ Greeting from Germany ♥
She remembers her father, who "met" that war carrying his service as a border guard. He returned home one-handed and almost without fingers on remaining hand - the result of close explosion of Nazi hand grenade. Who knows? May be your grand-dad threw that grenade... (no offence and nothing personal, just thoughts)
@@Sergei_Agarkoff Thank you deeply for the translation. Auto translate did a little bit of work, but most was poor translating.

I wish i could understand what she's is talking about. Her tears in her eyes bring tears into mine, and i think i feel what shes talking about, i cant even imagibe what she/her family must have gone through
I'm only partially russian so I probably wont be able to transtalte correctly, but when she started tearing up she talked about how the nazi's attack on Moscow was unfair due to russians military, vehicles and stuff, were mostly just getting repaired. After that she talks about how her father was stationed near the borders and how he told her the storys while she wad a kid, and how they as kids cried because of the storys. Later she teared up a bit, apologizing to the soldiers that died during the fight
@@vealnov so yeah, i felt it kinda what she was talking about, even though i didnt understand it. Thanks for the translation! Ura!
@@ThePuma1707 Her father was a soldier. And he lost one hand in the war, and the fingers on the other hand.
Our country will remember this pain of the war for a long time, because every family suffered in it. In every family, someone died or became disabled, and someone was not found.
She also talks about history, about the moment when our troops were not on the border. And we had to retreat. Since there was a non-aggression pact, we were taken by surprise. Our soldiers had to fight almost with their bare hands.
The war has passed, and the pain in the heart remains to this day.
@@vealnov Oh, well translated.
@@romanevdokimov2841 I know the war was brutal, and i fight every day to preserve the contribution the soviet people had to give to stop the Nazis, as it drops every day in the background due to western propaganda. The allies wouldnt be able to beat Germany without the blood of the soviet people, and yes, i intentionally say soviet because not only Russians fought, Ukrainians, Kazakhs etc, from all over the union! But i dont have to tell you. Lets hope something like this never happens again
I don't speak Russian and have no idea what she is saying but I get goosebumps watching her reaction!

I may not understand what she said, but I can tell her reaction of what she knows, the feeling that Sabaton did to make them proud, perhaps what she has lived through at that time. Regardless of our differences, Sabaton and heavy metal bounds us together. Let us be friends. Greetings from Philippines to Russian friends. Slava Rossiya!
Oh lord, I am getting emotional over here in Stockholm, Sweden. So proud that my fellow Swedes in Sabaton gave you a powerful moment! I sincerely hope you understand what I write! Love from Sweden!
Could someone who speaks English translate this. Her emotions tell alot but I would love to know what she said
I'm so sad not to understand a single word you said. I felt your pain echoing through my own spine. I simply assume you didn't understand the song but perhaps the flashbacks and imagery was enough. But I feel for you and thanks alot for this. Sharing stories.
♥️ from sweden dont understand one word but love the reaction 😊👍
This is such powerful song. This lady just made all the more powerful.
I found this and I have to say dear Babushka Kheyter that I got truly emotional after seeing your reaction. I wish I could understand your words, all I have to offer you is a mad respect. Maybe goverments declare war, but it's the people that has to fight them. Thank you all for the sacrifice that the Russian people made during WW2. Greetings from Mexico City.
What a fantastic reaction ! Thank you for your support during WW2 in Norway.

as to music (unrelated to the lyrics)
Lady Galina (it's her name. Russian commenters calls her "Grand-mommy Galya" or "Auntie Galya") at first planned to fight the boredom and to record some humiliating reviews on modern music.
But, and it was unexpectedly for herself, she found that the modern music, especially of rock kind (metal, punk and so on), can be very melodic and can carry a great meanings and sense. Then, instead of humiliating, she started to record very sincere "it is much better than I thought" reviews.
As to war... for many of citizens of former SU, the Great War is still the very personal matter.
See: before the war the population was approx 200M. KIA, MIA and died POW and civilians counts upto 27M. So, almost every 8th citizen did not returned home. Conclude by yourself...
And the final touch. 20 seconds in the middle of the guitar solo is the Soviet Anthem in metallic arrangement. We, the Russans, noted this very respectful gesture of Sabaton.
(also, similar arrangement is in the "Stalingrad" by "Accept" or "U.D.O.")
