Oh man, I remember the collapse of the Metrodome someone nearly died.
Jesus Christ I remember it like it was yesterday. Minneapolis is my hometown and I had tickets to that game but after that collapse I just threw them away
I had tickets to that game too. I remember they said if you had tickets you could show up to the make up game in Detroit Monday night and get in. I considered going decided against it.

@@nelsonharrington9847 wasn’t it December 12th 2010? Honestly I can’t remember much, cuz it’s hard for me to remember things.
I remember the BC Place roof deflation as I live in the area and have attended many BC Lions games there, including the 1994 Grey Cup game where I was one of the lucky ones to rush onto the field in celebration of the Lion's Grey Cup win at home.
There was more then this video indicated behind that deflation, as Vancouver had experienced an unprecedented series of wind storms from November through to the February when the roof collapsed. I remember hearing about and reading reports from local news coverage that the roof, which was at about the end of its useful life and due to be replaced or refurbished soon, was damaged by nearly a dozen major wind storms that hit the area over the aforementioned 4 month period, with that snow storm being the final nail in the coffin of that roof. It was patched and re-inflated in time for the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics and after that the BC Lions moved to a temporarily rebuilt Empire Stadium, their previous home before BC Place was built, and BC Place underwent major renovations, with a new retractable roof system installed which is absolutely gorgeous and has completely revitalized one of the most iconic features of Vancouver, adding decades more to the stadium's life.
We will see about that!!

It looks like the owners of those 6 mega stadiums saw their arenas as an ATM and
really didn't care about them overall.
That's the reason why the Metrodome was built in the first place. The original place, Metropolitan Stadium, was intentionally neglected to force the state to build the Metrodome. The old stadium was never cleaned or painted. Over time, it rusted out, to the point where the third deck had to be closed due to broken railings. Twins owner Calvin Griffith said the only hope for it was to tear it down and rebuild it, one section at a time; but nobody took that idea seriously. Metropolitan Stadium was excellent for baseball, lousy for football. Both teams forced the issue to get the Metrodome built. It turned out to be even worse.

Vancouver is the worlds most overpriced and miserable city. That stadium repair cost twice as much as it did to build it in the first place (with inflation factored in). It went 5x over budget (typical Vancouver) and hasn’t been sold out once. They drape the upper bowl seats with branding for their CFL football team and MLS soccer team. International soccer teams refuse to play their due to it having the worlds worst astro turf. It is well located though….. if you are into being begged for money, offered “up, down, side” or like to have your car broken into.
