All the times I've transformed this guy and I keep forgetting how to get the wheels to go into his legs. It's the second step of collapsing that gets me every single time.
Thank you very much for the video,it helped me out with the transformation and stopped me putting to much pressure on pieces that would have caught me out :)
you mentioned that you were not the first to handle this test shot, that got me wondering roughly how many times do test shot figures get passed around between the top reviewers before they're finished with it???
I have loved every character I have bought from X Transbots.. These Two when I can afford it will be no exception.. My only problem with them has been consistently that their joints go pretty floppy pretty quickly.. Since mine pretty much stay on display though and rarely get transformed more than 2 or 3 times, floppy joins is not that big of a deal.. Just disappointing. Great review for both of these figures.. I look forward to acquiring them.
According to Sunbow's models www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/7gen1-jpg.28868393/ his scale actually kinda tracks falling in between Ironhide and Prime.
Although in my mind I always saw Trailbreaker as this height, the carbot size really should come up to his windshield section of his chest. I think Aegis is definitely too large even though this is the size I would have expected him to be had I not looked at cartoon photos - very peculiar, I do not know why he seemed so much taller to me. His head, in the photos i am seeing, should be around Prime's shoulders and should be slightly shorter than Ironhide. So, I am wondering then, what size should Hoist be? Scale wise, MMC got it better I believe.
How do you go about getting preproduction transformers for review I'm a subscriber of yours I love your vids, I have been thinking about starting my own transformers channel
Have to say, those wheels look very cheap. I know it's a test shot, but I've got Badcube's Speedbump & while he's not perfect (usual Badcube impossible transformation), he's got an amazing set of wheels with rubber tyres.
I think its the most solid and intuitive transformation of the Trailbreakers thus far. Looks VERY solid. However, Im not a fan of the truck mode... that canopy looks too large imo... I do dig the implemented shoulder and arm weapons... no detached pieces. But as cool as the arm cannon is I dont like that hinged barrel. I peronally think Ocular Maxs looks the best in both modes but a bit underwhelmed by the quality of the build. Also, I particularly dig that Xtransbots streamlined the transformation on this one as much as they did. As many of their recent offerings seemed like they made the transformations overly complicated merely as their "thing" so to speak.
Not according to Sunbow's models. He's taller than ironhide and ratchet. His scale is actually about right. www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/7gen1-jpg.28868393/
The friction joint below the knee is the worst design and I know it has to do with transformation but as I said about extern spots they never seem to think outside the box but no offense to the reviewers you got to talk about the detailed cons and not always the pros so if you're not going to be truthful then don't do any reviews at all
OK let me start here with a compliment to you Ben, I watch most of your videos for review and transformation and you are great. That being said, your jump shots on this video made it very difficult to follow you. Your sections of explaining how the wheels fold into the legs, and how the backpack fold back into the body were unfollowable. Made me have to jump between this video and another to actually figure out what I was supposed to do. Also you missed a very small point of a small flap that needs to be rotated down at the rear part of the waste. On your video it was already flipped around and it is so small in real life it is easy to miss. Sorry just had to say something. Product review...that backpack was so frustrating I nearly repacked the figure and sent it back. The hands are sooooooo bad I am seriously considering homocide lol. Seriously, these little hands are HORRIBLE. The fingers just fall off and they are so small its a NIGHTMARE getting them back together. Just terrible. Shoulders suck, hands suck, backpack sucks. The truck mode is legit. Anyways, sorry for the rant and keep em coming Ben. Maybe a few less jump edits though. :)

Thx for the review of Trailbreaker going to get this guy.Hes very close just about exact as the 80s g1 show.He looks easy to transform as well.
Not bad. i think ill wait for an official version from takara. i love their toon accuracy and execution.

Cool figure thanks for sharing 😀😊
I have the Ocular Max versions of him and Hoist, and I am happy with them. This one still looks nice, though
The removable head must work wonders if you're trying to set up his death from IDW comics on your shelf.
I know it's pre-production model, but could've added that paint it's missing in the Alt mode, at least.

what up ben. big fan here... from Nicaragua! cheers mate!
I think this will be the MP Trailbreaker I get
His knees kind of look like seats when he's in vehicle mode

Any ideas when it might actually be released?
Great review Ben, now im gonna have to replace badcubes speedbump for this guy... my poor wallet!
Do the mushroom pegs for the head and hands give you any cause for concern when replacing parts at all?
cool
at first I thought this was about transgender bots lol

this thing has basically disappeared off the market right ben? great review = compounds my fomo :'[
Should be a reissue late this year
Does anyone know are there going to be decals for this bot?
Not included-his dismembered head.

Fanstoys for me. Probably will be the best of the lot.

He is to large. Trialbreaker is the same size as ironhide not larger
Yep.
Agreed, the Ocular Max ver is closer to the proper height, this one is almost as tall as Prime
