yh with the mouse that lasts half a year+ on one charge, this is such a big issue. the magic mouse is a touchpad all over the top surface that's why its at the bottom. call out a real issue like no clickable scroll wheel.
That and the power usage it has while doing it blows my mind. It highlights how inefficient modern GPUs and desktops actually are compared to what would be possible if they redesigned everything today. A desktop consuming 400w couldn't match this, and it won't draw more than 100w total I wouldn't think. PS5 uses 200w + to run RE Village at lower settings.
You can partly blame this on the game dev , most of the game arent optimised well at launch probably because they had to rush the game before released day .
bro resident evil new games run on a potato gtx 560ti I ran a 13 year old xeon with a 560ti and it played flawlessly. It's definitely overpriced. With 7000, I can get a Mac Pro, a Mac m2 and an iPhone 15 pro all with a new gaming pc. Oh and including a months rent and a car payment, surely I think its really ridiculous but I would also say its not aimed for me, anyway just my thoughts

If you actually used the mouse you would realize that it goes for 2 months with a SINGLE 10 minute charge!!! if you are low on battery just plug it in while you go pee or something and you are good to go for a few weeks

There is no shame in not being able to afford a certain product, and there are a ton of alternatives that are "worth it". Still, you get what you pay for. You can find this performance at a fraction of the price, but the build quality, speaker and display quality are just insane. Everything is nice and polished, outside of some OS things.

They wont for 2 reasons: 1. Amount of players compared to PC or console. The reason why consoles took of so much in America was the fact that Macs ware bad at gaming. Thefore its just more cost efficient to ignore Mac OS and just make Windows and consles. The amount of people that will game on a Mac is patectic in comperison. 2. GPUs- The onboard graphis on those doesnt messure up to a dedicated GPU. The best thing a Mac can hope for is get a ported console version because those are cut down in order to match the weak AMD APUs they got on board. Those are actually on par with the Max SOCs in terms of GPU.

In fact, all of their wireless keyboards, mice, and trackpads (that aren’t built into their laptops already) don’t actually ever communicate data via wired even if you try to use them while connected. The Magic Trackpad, for example, will always communicate via Bluetooth. You cannot ever have it use the wired cable, even when plugged in. It only uses it to charge itself.

Fr I would just get a 2018 macbook pro with an 8th gen i7 and a 4gb amd radeon pro gpu and everything i use my current macbook for will be magnified and thats like 400 bucks nothing my amazon credit card can't handle lol and I can just go on ebay and get an alienware aurora r7 with an i7 8700k 16gb ddr4 and I already have 36gb ddr4 laying around and I can get it with either a gtx 1080 or an rtx 20 series gpu and upgrade to maybe an rtx 3070 or 4070 if it will fit

as an owner of this laptop who also uses a seperate pc for gaming. This one feels really good to use for programming and video editing purposes has really good battery life and performs exceptionally well even without being plugged in. (My first macbook and it blew me)

Resident Evil Village runs very good on my MacBook Pro 16” with M1 Max also. There are a lot of power in the Apple Silicon but we need more games optimized for Metal and macOS.
there is no way you can build a PC that has as much VRAM as this MacBook for the same money. You'll need 2x rtx a6000 48GB so that you can match the VRAM, and that is very expensive. For Local Machine Learning and LLMs, this MacBook is the best for the money and mobility.
@evanmila4048 You do realize this memory is shared between the CPU and GPU, right? You will never have that much VRAM. Also, you do realize Nvidia GPUs have dedicated neural cores called Tensor, correct? They are far more capable than any Apple neural engine to date. So even with more unified memory, an Apple SoC doesn't even have the power to utilize all of it properly. I own an RTX 4080, and it easily runs stable diffusion. Other than that, I haven't tried out any of the other LLMs yet. But of course, dedicated GPUs for such tasks are going to be even faster.

Besides, the main advantage of Apple’s laptops is performance per watt, which means with the amount of performance you get, it’s not gulping tons of electricity. Those PCs - of course being a desktop, can gulp tons of electricity. Put that in a laptop and the battery life is about 30 minutes and would either be extremely bulky or melt on your lap. As we said, the bigger issue is lack of optimization. Macs have a hard time gaming simply for the fact that developers aren’t porting their games over and taking advantage of Apple silicon.

Cyberpunk punk was very optimized when i played it last year using steam on my MacBook pro m1 pro 16 core gpu. I played it with 1440P 40fps. It was very smooth no issues.

Hear me out yo... for 7.2k, I get a 16 code gpu, 32 gigs of RAM, 4 tb of ssd + 8tb of HHd, and an RTX 4090. Also a 4k 240hz monitor with gaming apparel. Whoever buys this mac for GAMING is clearly consumed by the Apple world... where Apple stuff is good because is Apple, nothing else.

@@rajat1960 no. that amount of ram and storage comes up to 1000 at the very worst. especially because they buy in bulk and buy chip modules instead of off the shelf parts. the speaker gap is no longer existent, the screens face issues every other year. the only thing going for the macs right now is the apple ecosystem and the battery life from the use of arm socs.

as an owner of this laptop who also uses a seperate pc for gaming. This one feels really good to use for programming and video editing purposes has really good battery life and performs exceptionally well even without being plugged in. (My first macbook and it blew me)

It has really good build quality, its slim, its charge lasts a long time, and it has gesture support and smooth scrolling when used with macos

A mouse has to be light and ergonomic not slim.
Charge lasts long? You wish it does because you can't use it while plugged in. Anyother mouse in this price segment last 1.5 to 2 times more.
Smooth scrolling? Any midend Logitech will have that in Linux windows and Mac along with a tactile scroll wheel. No monopoly.

Resident Evil Village runs very good on my MacBook Pro 16” with M1 Max also. There are a lot of power in the Apple Silicon but we need more games optimized for Metal and macOS.

there is no way you can build a PC that has as much VRAM as this MacBook for the same money. You'll need 2x rtx a6000 48GB so that you can match the VRAM, and that is very expensive. For Local Machine Learning and LLMs, this MacBook is the best for the money and mobility.
@evanmila4048 You do realize this memory is shared between the CPU and GPU, right? You will never have that much VRAM. Also, you do realize Nvidia GPUs have dedicated neural cores called Tensor, correct? They are far more capable than any Apple neural engine to date. So even with more unified memory, an Apple SoC doesn't even have the power to utilize all of it properly. I own an RTX 4080, and it easily runs stable diffusion. Other than that, I haven't tried out any of the other LLMs yet. But of course, dedicated GPUs for such tasks are going to be even faster.
@@moktafizaman9077 nVIDIA is no doubt faster. However, if you need to run a Llama 70B, you will need 168 GB of VRAM. either you rent a cloud computer for that, or a Mac Studio with 192GB memory will work just fine.

Besides, some of these games were not even running natively yet still performed pretty well. Most other laptops running those games would either have to stay plugged in or get extremely hot.

@@DrewMcIntyre. We’re talking about laptops, not desktop computers. Besides, the main advantage of Apple’s laptops is performance per watt, which means with the amount of performance you get, it’s not gulping tons of electricity. Those PCs - of course being a desktop, can gulp tons of electricity. Put that in a laptop and the battery life is about 30 minutes and would either be extremely bulky or melt on your lap.
As we said, the bigger issue is lack of optimization. Macs have a hard time gaming simply for the fact that developers aren’t porting their games over and taking advantage of Apple silicon.

Cyberpunk punk was very optimized when i played it last year using steam on my MacBook pro m1 pro 16 core gpu. I played it with 1440P 40fps. It was very smooth no issues.

Great work on that only if it had native support for games macbooks would become good for a lot of consumers.
