Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki was a ninja on the mat

Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki is retired Japanese judoka who competed in -63 and -65 kg weight categories. He was 1-time World Judo champion and silver medalist, on top of that he was also 1975 World SAMBO champion and 4-time national champion. Kashiwazaki was famous for his Sutemi Waza (sacrifice throws) and his sophisticated ground game. He is widely conisdered as one of the best competitive ne waza specialists of all time.

高祖父（清太郎の妻の父）の福岡庄太郎は前田光世と同時期に南米で柔術を広め、「パラグアイの英雄」と称された。伯山の父もブラジルへ転勤した際現地で柔道を教えており、このとき生まれた克彦（伯山）の名前も柔道家・柏崎克彦さんから頂戴されたそうです。

Infelizmente a política e arbitragem internacional mutilaram de certa forma a genialidade e as técnicas de judô... hoje se vence combate com mais penalidades do que a aplicação de golpes em si... O judô hoje está muito força e regulamento embaixo do braço.
