Thank you so much for featuring us Laura 😊 we truly enjoyed being able to tell our story. I was very nervous 😅 without my right hand Eric giving the building & numbers side of it, but it's informative nonetheless. We should definitely do this again once our tiny home is in place, and we have moved on to the next project property.
This is really inspiring. And some great advice. Interestingly, after I attended the glamping show this year, I actually came back a bit discouraged. The consistent theme I kept hearing was the huge amount of money needed to do this at any scale that makes it worthwhile. And that scale should be 25+ units if you don't want to be 100% tied to the day to day management of all aspects of the business. Clearly that is not always the case, and there are many successful hosts that have made it work at a smaller scale in the right location with some luck and perseverance. Putting aside $100k-$200k is completely feasible, and that can be used as a down-payment on further loans if needed. That was the assumption I started this journey with. I came away from the show with a tempered view that I would need more like several million $ to make it worthwhile and it made me start to question the vision. I am hoping that these lower cost opportunities to start and scale over time still exist in areas that have the right demand and geography.
