    I am a South Korean who was born in 1990.
    I know that many countries, including the United States, participated in the Korean War to help South Korea, which was invaded by the Communist Party.
    It is thanks to you that many Koreans have free life today, and I will never forget it and let my children know.

    If you think about it, if it hadn't been for the horse our civilization wouldn't exist as it is today. The services provided by this Noble creature should never be forgotten. And without donkeys we never would have had mules. Throughout history countless numbers of horses, donkeys ,and mules have provided transportation, tilled the ground, and gone into battle for us. We owe them a debt of gratitude.

    I don't know why, but the video left out this great and funny part of the horse's story.
    Found this below on some other website...
    "After posing for photographs, she [the war hero horse named Reckless] was taken to a reception in the theater of the Marines’ Memorial Club.
    Later, she stepped into an elevator for the first time and rode 10 floors to the banquet hall where she was guest of honor at a Marine Corps anniversary celebration.
    “With Pedersen and (Elmer) Lively as escorts, she trooped into the dining room to the thunderous applause of 400 marines and their ladies,” Geer wrote.
    “While being introduced, she spied a two-foot-high anniversary cake and helped herself before anyone could stop her.” Reckless also grazed on the rose and carnation flower centerpieces. ..."

      That is so interesting. I read an article about Reckless in "Horse Lover's"magazine. In the article she was referred to as a "race horse". I know she was very small. From your knowledge, was Reckless from stock used in Korea for racing?

    • @SA-uc5gb
      @SA-uc5gb 2 года назад +1

      @@lynnehuff9659 Jorang kind is originated from Mongol. So Reckless is a basically descendant of those Mongolian horses used by Mongolian Empire. Maybe that was why she was so brave! And yes, Reckless was originally raised as a race horse by the former owner Hyukmoon Kim, who later decided to sell her to United States Marine Corps because he needed money for his sister's surgery. Reckless' former name was 아침해, which means 'Morning Sunshine' in Korean language.
      Salute to all heroes who served in Korean War. We South Koreans live freely thanks to them.

    This horse is from Tseju island of South Korea and you can see it is much smaller horse than many species which is the main feature of Mongolian horse. During Khublai khaans Mongol occupation of Korea during 14-15th centuries probably thousands of mongol horses also lived there and possibly some bigger number of Mongolian horses left on Korean island of Tseju.

      Wrong on two counts:
      1) Animals are placed on earth to serve us and be fud. They are to be cared for, and some compasion, but not to the level of "love". "Loving" an animal is a misplaced love. Also, pets as "children" proxies is misplaced priorities.
      2) it is more wrong to send thousands and millions of each nations' 18-yo men to fight and die. That's why atomic bombs were created: instead of bemoaning "Bush lied, people died", and crying about the 2,000-odd us dead in Iraq, we shoulda nuked em on day one! No more dogs, horses, and 18 yo humans to war. Happy with THAT alternative?????
