+bassl0va Except that each piece has a specific angle that that anchor thingy is hanging down at. The ones in the middle go almost straight down while the edge ones are angled. It'll be like solving the worlds most precise puzzle to put it all back.

hey man!! you are my hero. My 4x4x4 once was dismantled for a little boy and took me somenthing like 45 minutes to assemble it. I can't imagine how hard is going to be reassemble that cube!
if i bought this cube i would spray paint the black edges matching the centers just so i can say here oskar.. now i finally make people happy cause its a cube where you solve edges and not just the centers! haha im sure the chinese are gonna steal your design just like they did the v cubes
Currently, some of the most innovative and novel twisty puzzles are designed by Chinese experts like MF8, Dayan and Smaz. Unfortunately, their brilliant designs are knocked off just as well. All puzzles, both originals and knock-offs are produced in China nowadays.
Easily my favorite of all your videos. I remember when I first got a Rubik's cube as a kid -- I didn't want to solve it half as much as I wanted to take it apart and find out how it worked! I think that's the difference between a mathematician and a physicist. The mathematician tries to solve the puzzle, and the physicist picks up a screwdriver. :-)

12 years after this video was uploaded I finally found it - I think I have watched a solving video many years ago... After I have recently met Louis Toorenburg in Rawene I found to your youtube channel. 🙂
Actually the middle pieces are printed in a colored material, probably plastic, while the edges are printed black and need to be stickerd. This is because printing multi color pieces is more difficult and would cost more.

Thanks! You can find several volunteers at the Twisty Puzzles Forum, who would be happy and competent to assemble the puzzle for you. A Japanese puzzle friend even offers such puzzle assembly as a professional service.
An even NxNxN is not fundamentally more difficult to make. One would need to add a mechanism to keep the core aligned. All even NxNxN have a solution for that. One option is to bind one corner to the core.
Oskar, I think that you should add stickers to those black edges and corners just to make the puzzle more fun! Also how did you manage to get the puzzle to be cubic when the v-cube company isn't able to mass produce a 7x7x7 cube that is not pillowed?
It doesn't matter how old this gets, it'll never stop being impressive as hell. Oskar himself will never cease being impressive as hell too.
