Thank-you so much I own a cricut maker &cricut joy and I don't really know much about what to do only names for my grandchildren pjs and drinking cups which I add names too I am so thankful I found that I can make these for their cakes as I'm always buying then from people that cost me around £5.99 in the UK and it get expensive because I have 9 grandchildren so I will try to make these myself x
I learned how to do all of this through trial and error when I first started, but you did a wonderful job explaining every step! I wish I would have found your video a year ago! I would have saved time, money and plenty of wasted frustration. I had no clue why some of my letter would black out the hold in the letters d, a, b, etc... so thank you for teaching me why!!!! You are awesome and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world! Love a crafty hippie from Mississippi
Omg so happy I came across your page! Thanks for the video! Super short and informative :) can’t wait to try making a cake topper for the very first time! Thanks again !!
Can I use this method using my cricket cake and gumpaste? I’ve had my crocus cake for a long time but don’t really use it. Now that I see your video I want to use it. Thank you
Thank you for sharing. I need to watch again because I am planning to purchase my very first Cricut. Should I start with a basic Crichton? Or this one you used is best?
depending on a budget, cricut explore is good for many projects. I now have a cricut maker, but I do exact same things on it that I did with the explore. so it depends on what type of projects you would do as well.
Hi my dear, TFS!!! How glad am I to have come across your video 😊☺️ Just got gifted a cricut explore air 2 for my birthday and I’m about to do my first project. I have a quick question : Do most of the projects work with the built in blade that the cricut came with it or do I need to buy extra cutting blades ? If so, how do I know what extra blades to buy? Please your help and tips would be greatly appreciated as I’m a bit confused as a first timer. Thank you ☺️
I’ve been trying so many times to do this and your video is the most clear and you get straight to the point. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong
Yes i usually cut off the stuff i cant use so the leftovers are basic rectangle/square shapes and throw them into my scrap drawers (i have one separate for iron on vinyl, sticky vinyl, craft paper etc) and whenever i have small projects i usually go through those first and use that up. I don’t hoard it though only keep pretty decent size pieces so that way its easy and fast to find them and I actually end up using them.
Hi I'm from the UK can I ask which cricut you are using please for these videos.. I have a Sillouette Cameo 3 but I can't get it to cut glitter card so I'm looking to buy a cricut
Thank you so much my daughter is 21 in a few weeks and we are in lockdown. This is giving me a lovely idea for her cake. And maybe some decorations too. ❤
I love the tip on slicing the letters before welding. I agree its extra steps but the end result was amazing! I know you mentioned a link to where you get your fonts. I must have missed it twice, where can I get the October Twilight font? Thank you!
@@Zhannastar Thank you so much! I actually went out on a limb and tried it, I absolutely love the results!! Thank you again for this video and for responding
cricut maker cuts many many things, even some thin wood sheets. cricut explore is more budget friendly and does many things as well. you can use it for cake toppers. a heavy cardstock is good for cake toppers. I have this specific one that I love - I have it linked in the description below the video
Such a great tutorial. Thank you. That was a great tip about the D and A and not having it fill in during welding. This whole video was full of great tips!!!
yes! these exact ones - I love them because they are thicker than any glitter cardstock I have ever found, and they don't shed glitter what so ever. PERFECT for cupcakes, cakes, and all the edible goodies. Super sparkly and also double sided! Only sucky thing is that they only carry like 4 colors :( haha
You can select the glitter cardstock and that help to cut it in one step. I do really love the video and explanation I am a beginner :) and I love my Cricut explorer. Thank you
OMG! That came out great! I have been wondering how this was made. Thank you soooooo much for this amazing tutorial and the inspiration. I want to buy Cricut, but uncertain which one. I just subscribed to your channel.
I haven't worked with cricut joy, it should be the same thing, except cricut joy will only come in a certain size because its tiny so you won't be able to make huge sizes
Hello there I was just wondering Where you can buy the machine just like yours in the video? And What is it called? Thank you so much for your tutorial video.
this video the exact paper I used in this video. amzn.to/2PfUz0q and its 250 GSM. its really really good quality and its super sparkly, and the glitter has no fallout.
this is literally my favorite. glitter doesn't have any fallout, the paper almost feels plastic which is totally awesome for cake toppers - and it cuts so easy. this is the exact one that I use amzn.to/2PfUz0q
You can click pause and use the cricut weeder tool to try to lift one of the cut pieces off the mat, if its not cut through, unpause and let it finish cutting, once its done, do not unload the mat, just click cut again, and it will cut over again and usually you can change the setting/pressure before cutting again or just leave the previous one and click cut again.
I really like how you showed both ways and why welding is better!
Thank you for your feedback!
Yes. True

What program you use ? What is this canvas edit ?
Hi. Can I use glitter cardstock with a joy xtra?
yes you can, but maybe not the double sided one as the joy extra doesnt have a deep point blade
It's beautiful
What's the printing machine called?
cricut
Have you done with smaller words? Mine keeps ripping or not cutting all the way through
Hello I would like to do this for my moms 90th birthday but as a centerpiece with roses. What measurements should I use. This will be my first project
Hi what’s the settings you put for your cardstock for your the cricut before you printed it out?
can i use cardstock on a cricut joy (mini machine) - what settings would I use please?

So cool! Do you have any tutorials on how to make these but with a gold acrylic?
i wondering how to make like that so now i know how to make it, but what kind of application that you use for editing ?
this is Cricut design space app. have to have a cricut machine to use it.

how do you send it back through to cut again if it does not cut all the way through without it going off track and dbl. cut?
don't unload the mat, don't click anything. just press on start button again

I too, laughed at the “hole in the a”😂😂😂.
Thank you for showing this tutorial.
LOL!
Do you have to weld numbers, like if I wanted to do 21?
They all have to be “touching” so they are all connected.
Are these cardstocks you used non-shedding? Love this video, thanks💕

You can select the glitter cardstock and that help to cut it in one step. I do really love the video and explanation I am a beginner :) and I love my Cricut explorer. Thank you
this specific glitter cardstock its like a plastic type of paper so thats why I couldn't use a regular glitter cardstock setting.
I have bought card stock to do this but it is adhesive on the back?? Where can I get card stock like yours used in this video xxx

Hi lovely stuff. What GSM was your card stock? Thanks
this video the exact paper I used in this video. amzn.to/2PfUz0q

Deep cut.
Hi there, what Cricut machine do you have?
I have cricut explore air 2 and cricut maker. both will cut these types of projects
Beautiful cake topers. not sure if you said it in the video, at what pressure cut setting did you cut through the cards stock.
What kind of cardboard do you use here! I like is strong and it doesn’t need more n the back

Whats the name of the app editor?
Hey very good tutorial. But I have a question.. I dont understand why do u use the symbol for the point of the letter from "i"?
Before you unload it you make sure that it cut all the way... What if it didn't cut all the way? What can you do at that point?
You can click pause and use the cricut weeder tool to try to lift one of the cut pieces off the mat, if its not cut through, unpause and let it finish cutting, once its done, do not unload the mat, just click cut again, and it will cut over again and usually you can change the setting/pressure before cutting again or just leave the previous one and click cut again.
How long is the wooden stick? Thanks
