What was that when Meyers crushes Janmark's head into the boards and then, with out really hitting anything, he is so injured he barely struggles off the ice? The play by play guys were fair neutral in game one but this game they turned pro Vancouver. On that play they showed it in slow motion and no one had any concern for Janmark or that Meyers should have got a penalty.

Should not have needed OT to win it. That shot, and goaltending coaching, was discussed on Got Yer Back. With the puck at that distance and angle, it doesn't make sense for goaltenders to go to their knees. The only person more surprised than Skinner was Zadorov.

I would also think he has input when developing and signing goalies.
Example: Campbell after 1/2 season of good goaltending for Leafs, then below average 1/2 season and 1st round get him 5 for 5 contract.

We'll all tied up at 1 game each as Edmonton split the first two games in Vancouver effectively giving them home ice advantage (if they win their 3 home games and Vancouver only wins it's 1 appropriate home game between then (even if they somehow won both home games they have left the Oilers would win the series). Big Stat Standouts: Vancouver blocked 12 more shots (more than double) what Edmonton blocked. That's a biggie right there. They also had 17 more hits than Edmonton while having more Takeaways and fewer Giveaways. However they got OWNED in the 3rd period. They got 2 shots in that period. Edmonton had double digits. Connor's goal tied it up and Bouch had a shot go off of a Vancouver defender for the OT winner. McDavid AND Draisaitl had a night. Bouch played one second short of 30 minutes in this game and McDavid and Draisaitl were over 28 and 27 minutes respectively. Three more wins to go (for either team but hopefully for the Oilers). Ekholm had a goal. Oilers FINALLY don't have a 100% PK (they let the one in). Now at least they show up on stats pages as having the #1 PK (and PP).

Another bad goal allowed by Skinner. He needs to spend some quality practice time on Fundamentals. He allowed 2 bad goals on weak fundamentals in game one.
As a goalie, there is no reason for him to be in the RVH in that situation. He got caught again later with a shot going off the crossbar. A goalie of his size should be taking away that space. Vancouver was targeting him with high blocker shots throughout the game.

Agree with the problems passing by the bottom D. So often, they miss a pass or instead of pausing and allowing the winger to get to the boards and softly ringing it to the player, they fire it along the boards to the opposing defenseman waiting for it. Ive seen Nurse do this so often, I’m thinking theres a learning disability.

  • @joetoh6675

Those Ekholm numbers (@ 14:00) put a little hole in the argument that Canucks are better 5v5. Now the lower part of the roster (bottom 12) has to find ways to crank it up, and bottom 4 D to shut it down.

More flirtin with disaster. Wow. Oil got better the longer the game went on, but why oh why do they have to be on the verge of total disaster to find their A game?? Lol. McD and Dria were fantastic. Skinner is just terrorizing. Thank God Cole is playing for the Oil or this could well be 2-0 Van. Great saving win, and I still say oil in 6, but Skinner has to be better, and McLeod, Foegele, Kane, Janmark and Perry have to pick it up and soon or this is going to be a scary tight series score wise.

@@jeffparcels2410 skinner winning the cup as #1 is like trying to hit a bullseye with your bow and arrow from a 500m distance. For the entire season, skinner just benefited from Knobs and Coffee’s new defensive system. The team kept all the grade A shots limited and all he did was making routine saves. Then the media called him an “elite” goalie lol. If there are fans who know the game, skinner is average at best. He’s always slow at lateral movement and has slow reflexes. He so rigid! If he attempts to make the splits, his groin is going to rip. That’s why he’s always healthy. His puck handling skill is poor. I seriously don’t know why this guy is our #1. If he does win the cup, it’s going to be the Hawks winning the cup with Neimi and Crawford in net. Poor goaltending but the team is loaded.

As a long time Canuck fan I've enjoyed the balance and fairl COH commentary giving credit where credit is due toward the Canucks. I hope the Oilers don't have to depend on McDavid and Draisaitl playing close to 30 minutes every game to get through to their ultimate goal, cause they might run outta gas or be injured. The Canucks have come a long way this year, but I doubt will be able to beat the Oilers. I'll be behind the Oilers to win the cup in that event.

You guys are great but Dave's talk about it being "crucial" that the oilers win the Stanley Cup is nonsense. It doesn't work like that, there are other great teams remaining that may be superior to edmontons lineup. All they can do is compete and put their best foot forward. I just dont want the oilers to beat themselves like they did last year against Vegas or game 1 against Van.
