I'm sure I probably commented on the first time you reacted to this, but here's a re-cap: the samba section was inspired by Jonesy and Robert watching the World Cup during one of the many times they spent waiting for Jimmy and Bonzo to show up to the studio, Bonzo does any amazing Purdie shuffle in this, someone else already mentioned Jimmy used an MXR Blue Box to create the fat, fuzzy guitar tones; he also used his 12-string. My mom was a hard-core, old-school country music fan and I was always trying to get her to listen to various types of music and she would surprise me with some of the songs I got her to enjoy. This song was one of them and I'm grateful.

This is a drumming masterclass from Bonzo.

As much as I consider this Jones' defining album, Bonham delivers on every single track. For all the thunder of his youth, it is here, at near his end, that his experience and mastery is on full display, and it is heartbreaking to know, this was it. There was so much more to be heard from him, but for an unfortunate accident...

People are surprised just how much Led Zeppelin is "Jonesy", but you're right about Bonhams mastery and dominance.

I'm a huge Zeppelin fan since 1969. With this channel and 1 other going through all the albums from the first to the last I get a lot of pleasure following along. An interesting note is that this album (InThrough The Out Door) has more than one album cover. I have two of all Zeppelin album's. One to listen to and one to keep back and not play. The two I have are slightly different from each other.

Fun ZEPPELIN fact: this album cover is a bar scene with several different characters in it. They released 7 different versions of the album cover. You didn’t know which one you were buying because it came in a brown paper sleeve. The photos in the cover art are from the first person perspectives of everyone in the bar. 7 people, 7 viewpoints. I could be off on the exact number of folks inside the bar, but one is from the hooker’s view, one is from the bartenders, one is from the patron at the bar’s viewpoint etc....
The record sleeve on the inside was a black and white close up drawing of the bar top. A drink, peanut shells etc.
If you got the sleeve wet, it turned into a watercolor image. Different items were different colors with just a little bit of water. I had several different versions a long time ago. It was a cool album art concept for sure.

I remember the paper bag. I don’t think I ever knew about the watercolor though

The lead is played through an MXR Blue Box. It drops the sound by two octaves and adds a lot of fuzz. It is one of the products of Page's never-ending experimentation.

The last verse of this song is one of Plant's greatest vocal performances on any record IMHO

Love this song so much. The songs' story is fantastic. The way it breaks down into a sound like a Brazilian football game celebration is amazing. Compare this to dazed and confused in terms of sound, both astonishing songs and at the same time couldn't be further apart

Recently found your channel here; as a fan of classic rock, BTS, classical, and the odd hip hop, this is perfect! I love Bonham's drumming in this song.
As a Canadian, I'm glad that Rush is reacted to thoroughly! I of course would suggest Steppenwolf, Guess Who, and BTO.
Also second those that recommend the epic BTS performance at the 2019 MMA, even though it's almost 40 minutes long.
Enjoying these! Keep it up (when you have time after your day job of course!).

Every single one of them showed off on this song. Bonzo steals it with the drums, but every single one of them plays with fire.

M.C.A. - Is that your name? Every time I watch a video on this channel, I can’t help but smile, because you look so much the Christian apologist, David Wood, of Acts17Apoligetics, on RUclips. You could pass for brothers. With that said, Fool In The Rain is the only redeeming song on this album, in my opinion; btw, Christianity is true. :-)
