As a kid, Duce was a HUGE signing to me lol
Duce was brought to Pittsburgh from the Eagles on a 5 year $14 million contract. Which is wild to see in the modern NFL, as far as running contract length goes.
Duce was a great contributor but struggled in the health department during his stay in Pittsburgh. Luckily, the Steelers were stacked at RB & Willie Parker blossomed into a star the following year. I never see Duce get any love, but the dude ran hard as hell when given the chance.

Hard to believe this was nearly 20 years ago!! There’s a whole generation of fans who may have zero idea who Duce even is, at this point!
Nagged by injuries, Duce’s 2004 season was cut short of what it could have been. Through 7 weeks he had piled up 707 yds on 4.68 YPC.
I know there’s going to be some comments regarding his touchdowns - The first game was the infamous 3 TDs & 1 YD for the Bus. They had Jerome clean up on alot of these drives

Glad we got him a ring even though he didn't play as much in 05. Never forget Bettis cramping up in the Jets playoff game and Duce having to come in.
Me and his son played football together in HS. Dude is a great guy with an amazing family hope him and his family are doing well.

The year before, Philly was down by a few scores in the 4th quarter in the NFC Championship game.
Duce was the only guy on the Eagles playing with any heart even though he had to know the game was lost.
He still fought like hell regardless.
So I was excited to have a player like him wear the black and yellow

Duce was talented and played real solid ball for the Steelers. Got himself a ring the following year.
When the Steelers signed Duce Staley as a free agent during the 2004 offseason, I was so stoked!! It was an excellent addition to an offense that was run heavy!! Staley was well on his way to a 1,000 yard season!! He was proving to be worth every penny!! Then all of the sudden it’s week 8 (2004 season). The 8-0 Philadelphia Eagles are coming into Heinz Field. It’s a golden opportunity for Staley to run all over his former teammates!! Then he tweaks a hamstring during pregame warmup’s. And you barely saw him for the remainder of his contract!! What the hell??
