I so agree with you…. I’m not sure what is the best way around that… I was interested in the grey hair guy too… like there was so much diversity but in the end the white couple also out weigh the idea of diversity… grateful there was an effort… I think I am grateful for programming that has concentrated ethnic groups that are like me so I would see more of “me”…. I celebrate differences but also I finally feel free to be honest it feels good to see myself in shows…

What would truly demonstrate whether love is blind or not is if the participants were from different socioeconomic backgrounds, if there was more diversity in termes of physical appearances, ethnic background, religion but I suppose that would be an ethics problem….I don’t know…
In the top people there were Indians, African Americans, and Asians. How is that not diverse? Also, Iyanna was just a student and didn’t have a successful career yet.

When all of the participants were introduced there were some that didn’t have this ideal body shapes, there was a guy who shared being rejected due to being short, a girl with tin legs and quite large top of the body…..they instantly disappeared. Couples that made this emotional connection with each other had a lots of information that could’ve potentially be a deal breaker. Maybe I’m looking at this from a different angle but I’m a psychologist and if I’m looking at this as a social experiment which is exploring the extent to which love is blind or exactly whether love is blind I see a number of problems in the way is set up, selection of participants as well as type of the questions they are allowed to ask in order to ensure that the connection is truly based on how well they connect on an emotional level and whether that is enough. For example that Indian guy, Shake or something like that, he was talking a piss and instantly tried to assess girls physical appearance by saying how he loves going to festivals, picking girls up on his shoulder and asking whether they would be okay with that. Love is Blind Japan was interesting. Hey ho, we can talk about so many different aspects of this experiment and how difficult is to create a truly controlled setting that ensures participants connection to be formed solely on their emotional bond. I would definitely throw in the mix people from different generations, religious backgrounds, levels of education, political orientation……and definitely provide more guidance regarding the way they conduct conversations. Focus more on emotions, understanding how each interprets concepts such as intimacy, relationships, marriage, how they deal with conflicts, what are their expectations from their partner…….to have a true emotional bond and to demonstrate whether love is blind all other aspects must be removed. I think that if two people have emotional intelligence they will use their differences (religion, political views) to empower each other, learn and evolve individually as well as a couple……. When they don’t get to go on to be a part of the entire experiment it honestly makes sense that they wouldn’t stay together. The show is designed to set up the couples for the greatest chance at success and push them through so many big important steps in a working relationship, there’s so much more that goes into strengthening the bonds of the couples when they go on to the Mexico retreat -still with no phones- and then moving on to try living together and meeting their families, and then of course there’s a pressure to fully commit by the end of it. It’s such a whirlwind.

Yeah I watched this and was like “nope they definitely still cut some couples”. Which sucks because there was one guy, I can’t remember his name, that got engaged and I really would have liked to see his connection and the progression of the relationship with the woman he proposed to.
I also don’t think they can do more episodes. I think they agree to a preset amount of allotted episodes, as between S1 and S2 the timeline was exactly the same.

As a married woman, I dont believe that love is truly blind but this show was really entertaining. I mean if the casting agents do a great job of picking males and females with equally goodlooks then I would be up for it (if I'm still single lol). LIB US seemed to do a great job with that. LIB Japan though, the males are just not as goodlooking as the females. So it's kindof unfair. Male age range was also 23 to 56. Wtf is up with that?? Meanwhile the females are usually in their late 20s or early 30s. Females surely got the short end of the stick.

This show is so silly. Entertaining, but silly. All the experiment proves, is that love is not blind. People think they've found a match when they're in the pods and then one of three things happen. 1, They immediately don't get on and break up. 2, They don't get on too well, but because they've convinced themselves the process should work and they're a bit desperate, keep working on it anyway. 3, They are lucky and they actually do have a physical connection as well as an emotional one. So no, love is not blind. And isn't it ridiculous that two very classically beautiful people are presenting the show as a couple?? I mean what on earth is that about?? They might just be presenters, but they massively go in hard on people who don't follow the format. Just all very bizarre.
I think season 2 was a total disaster. The only 2 couples that got married are no longer together which was easy to predict as complete failures for Danielle's issues and Jarret picking her 2nd option for a wife. Natalie was the total show fraud playing victim when in the beginning she was a total liberal and then pretending to be a good girl yet making up stories about her ex and Shaina. I wished Shayne would've picked Shaina instead of the ackward chinese girl. Mallory couldn't get over Sal and he couldn't get over her but failed to admit it. The indian girl is so weird trying to pair up with the weirder Kyle. All pure entertainment but boring.
