    17:55 In the interviews they did around this time, David and Matt were each asked what they would most like to have from the other’s DW production setup. David’s answer was “Matt’s TRDIS set” (it’s a full set, while 10’s has a giant missing wall), and Matt’s answer was “Billie Piper”.

      Honestly I think it’s unreasonable to expect anybody to not know. Tennant was publicly announced as being in the 50th Anniversary months in advance, he was on the poster, he was in the trailers, all the entertainment magazines had him and Smith posing together on the front covers, they even appeared together on the Graham Norton Show as part of the promo... everybody knew at the time, it’s not like it spoils the experience.

    It was so great Billie came back. This was the first time people saw the eyebrows. It is theorized that the curator is a future incarnation (course it was great to see Tom again). We absolutely LOVE Kate Lethbridge Stewart. The war Doctor is an amazing version of the Doctor. Also he regenerates into 9, it's not long after till he meets Rose in Rose

    I remember scrambling to get tickets to see this in the cinema with my best friend. The only available seats left were right in the front row, on the far left and let me tell you, it was so damn worth it. Packed cinema, full of Whovians, the worst seats in the house couldn't ruin such an immense experience. We were all cheering at Tenant, at Bad Wolf, at everything! It was wild. I'll never forget it. So glad you're finally (even though I watched you watch it on Patreon back in Summer 2020 lol) getting to watch it!! A love and well wishes x

    In the lead up to the 50th it was well known that David Tennant was in it. Previous Doctor Who Anniversary specials always had a past Doctor or Doctors returning. It might have been better had we not known but I don't think the BBC could really have convinced people that the 50th Anniversary contained no previous Doctors. No one would have believed it.

And ,of course, the Doctor is not married to Elizabeth I - their marriage was held in the open air (illegal in England until quite recently) - and the entire parliament must have been present as witnesses.

    It should had been Paul McGann fighting in the Time War. John Hurt is a terrific actor don't get me wrong but I really would had preferred McGann. I wish the Classic Doctors had more involvement and a threatening Villain like Omega would had been great. But aside from that it was a great special. I hope the 60th will be even better. • @ms_scribbles

      AMEN! There was NO reason to shoehorn a new Doctor into the mix when Paul McGann was RIGHT THERE. As I've said before, John Hurt did a great job, but his Doctor had no business being there. It would have had so much more emotional punch if it had been the Eighth Doctor. Especially to those of us who followed Eight's audio stories and were witness to Eight's character arc over the years.

    I’m not really a 100% fan of this special, not enough time war, not enough Daleks and not one single extermination shown in the most deadly war in the universe and I kind of really disagree with the Gallifrey being saved idea. It doesn’t feel earned, just feels like yet another moment where Moffat can’t resist not killing people and undoing stuff that comes before him. BUT, BUT, BUT (rant over) There’s something so exciting about seeing multiple Doctors and companions interacting with past Doctors. Clara is talking to the tenth Doctor, Tens talking to Kate, Bad Wolf is talking to John Hurt it’s amazing 😭🤣👏🏻

      I'm so torn on this episode. On one hand, David and Matt worked together flawlessly, John Hurt was a great actor, it was a lot of fun most of the time. However, on the other hand... I hate, hate, hate the Time War retcon, I hate the lack of Eighth Doctor (especially since Big Finish had worked so hard with his character development to prepare him for the Time War, only to have him not even show up and spout bullshit directly OPPOSITE of his current opinion of fighting the Daleks), I hate Moffat's continued shitting on RTD's work, especially the words he put in Clara's mouth that were so dismissive of Ten. "Any idiot can be a hero." It's the only time I ever wanted to tell Clara to f*ck right off.

    • @joshuajoshua2732
      @joshuajoshua2732 3 года назад

      I agree with some stuff but the thing that annoyed me about The Tenth Doctor was he was so full of sorrow which is out of character for the Doctor I hated the romance storyline with the Doctor and Rose that didn't really need to be there I am glad Moffat ignored that part but the rest I agree I like the alien side of the Doctor. You have to remember though canon changes all the time that's been a thing since the Classic Series. Clara was annoying I wanted to see more of the Time War I wish they had 8 instead of retro actively put in a new Doctor I wanted to see the Classic Doctors I wanted threatening villains.
