Larry the parrot dials an imaginary phone number, rambles a little, then starts laughing.

- We can only understand about half of what he's saying but that's what makes it so funny. This must be what we sound like to him.
Would be fun to turn him loose on a foreign sales call.
Yes! At least, until he starts learning and repeating foreign insults all day... :/
Lol especially the fake IRS calls. Lol
You genius
you stole this joke
Just saying
The "alright..........bye!" is on point!

African greys have a thing for clicks and beeps. They mimic them so well. If you ever own one, you better hope he never falls in love with the sound of your smoke detector.
ToshAroundMac funny you say that. Because mine does lol
Mine heard a car alarm once.
We heard it for months after that.
ToshAroundMac
Too late, I have two African greys, they both do the smoke detector, microwave and my cell phone...lol!
And a hawk's call flying over the house, and the neighbor's cockatoo, and the squeaky kitchen cabinet door that ' already been oiled, the phone ringer, the old Andy Griffith Show whistled theme song, the wolf whistle that got my husband in trouble when the neighbor ladies do their morning walks, she mimics the other parrot in the house too, and on and on.
That's so funny!
Btw...whoever Larry is, he has the fakest laugh ever, in his casual phone conversations.😂
Lmao
I'm eating and I almost choked to death when I read this. 😂😂😭😭 I was thinking the same thing
Omg LMAO
😂😂😂😂😂
I laugh like this too and people tell me sometimes that I'm faking it but I'm not. I've thought about it a lot and my laugh does sound forced but it's just the way it is. I can't find it in myself to laugh whole heartedly and it makes me more sad. It might have to do with years of living alone and having nothing to laugh about being lost in thought mostly. Can I be cured?
Never, EVER say your secrets in front of that blabber mouth!

Imagine hearing that chuckling in the middle of the night, terrifying
Exactly how I feel O.o 👻
I find his laugh more entertaining than a human being's hahahaha. You're right, listening to him laugh like that on random in the middle of the night is freaky.
+さいとひかる They do not make noise when it is dark, well unless something really terrible is going on. But yea for sure that would be disturbing in the middle of the night.
I WANT ONE OF THEM lol, they are brilliant, trouble is you couldn't have any secrets with this bird, it would tell everyone what you said on the phone lol
+Sweetpea Chickpea Thats pretty funny. With an African Grey, that would actually work. My brother has one and not only can they reproduce speech but they replicate voices. When he talks, he sounds exactly like my brother. My brother also has a dog and when the bird says 'Sit!' the dog sits. Funny. But the dog stopped going to the cage when the parrot said 'come here Bo' and then bit him in the nose. Took 5-6 times but the dog learned.
Burglar: breaks into the house, thinking no one is there
Larry: starts laughing
Burglar: soils pants then runs away
That's a real thing, actually. There are recordings of married couples arguing that people play overnight to deter burglars.
I wonder just how fast a burglar could run in soiled pants!!?? 🤔
especially if Larry learns Joerg Sprave's laugh
Or maybe just loot the house and leave
@Margaret
Depends on if it gets to his feet, making him a speedy shitheel.

The African Grays are very smart birds. I once had one say "I love you" and i replied " I love you too" and he said "that's good".
I've had one say "hello, lovely day isn't it?" Which it were one in old peoples home my great grandfather lived in that had a nasty habit of swearing so I turned expecting to be replying to old lady that owned it but it were parrot so I went and replied "Yes it is a lovely day usually your a bit more potty mouth though." Then it told me to "Fuck off you cunt."
That’s supernatural! 👽

Every time my phone rings my grey, Spanky, says "hello?" "Yeah" and the just laughs and laughs and then says "Ok, Ok, bye bye". She is soo funny with her antics.

really?
"I mean, that's what you humans do whenever the phone rings. You say, hello, say yeah, you laugh, and then you say bye!"
Film it
Oh my that is hysterical . I would love to see it. How cute!
The laughter isn’t a mimic. He’s just contemplating his world domination scheme.
Brilliant
Used to visit a friend, who's parrot used to imitate his voice perfectly.
Parrots would be much scarier if they could understand how our language actually works.
@@sumbuddy4088 They do haha

Its funny to me that you can kind of tell what the owners voice sounds like through these birds. Or at least what gender the person they listen to is.
+Kayland Johnson very cool
They mimic anything and anyone
I want to meet the owner, he sounds like a wonderfully kind person!
+Ree-Ree Marie
It seems, one that laughs a lot.
Right? Isn't it absolutely amazing?
Should get him a job as a telemarketer...LOL
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaa
No no, when a telemarketer calls you put him on the phone
hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa
hahahhaha
If he was a telemarketer, I might actually listen instead of hanging up. LOL
It sounds like Larry is repeating answering machine messages, that explains the beeping and the frequent "ok bye". Especially if some of the messages are talking to him.
Yup.
This never fails to perk me up when I've had a down day. The fact that he's replicated the ring and hang-up noises, how perfectly he's captured the regional accent of the person he hears the most often (parrots usually do, but it never fails to be funny), and his happy little chuckle, it all just makes it funnier.
The mimicked 'belch'..
I've just discovered this and it's now a new favorite for me!
It always amazes me how much detail they capture. The breath intake before a new thought or sentence, for example.
He captured the phonic surface which is a simulacrum of the accent.
We had a friend's parot that when going through the airport Everytime the owner went through the metal detector would make the "Alert sound" and get stopped Everytime 😂😂 this bird even knew her credit card number. He was a very old bird. He loved music
I would legitmatly mistake that for a real person if I didn't know that was a parrot
they sound like us its so cool!

I think a parrot is a person with intelligence and feelings
Bird speaks better English than half the foreign call centers I have dealt with.
Imagine his cage covered in the middle of the night...
and hearing that laugh.
It's really interesting hearing garbled english mixed up with phrases like "alright bye" , shows how the parrot perceives human language
that's one sinister laugh O.O
We would hear that smart ass laugh after she nabbed one of us...she'd say "Don't bite!!!!! he he he he he.
pipticken, IKR? Kinda creepy...
And they tell me my jokes are bad...
I kept expecting the bird to say Jesus is watching, and then ‘sick’em’
Absolutely...
It's so funny because he's imitating half a phone conversation.
good point
HAHAHA Don't ever have a conversation you DONT want repeated in front of an African Grey!
Oh yes and they've busted a lot of cheating couples too. They're like voice recorders and will play any sound they hear, including the moaning during those sex trysts.
Greys speak in the voice of the person they've learned the words from.
+Antonio Montana probably mostly women were caught cheating by the bird and the bird then told the husband boyfriend

David Fleming 😂🤣😄
"hahahaha there's somebody at the door! Ok, bye. Heheheh." is this bird a murderer or something?
A friend had a grey that would see the neighbor’s cat out the window and say, “Heeeeaaaarrrr kitty, kitty, kitty.” And then laugh evilly like this. 😂🤣
sounds like he enjoys the answering machine
If the answering machine doesn't work just ask him.
The parts you can't understand are what English sounds like to people who don't speak it. :-)
Put Larry on the phone with every telemarketer. Put phone on speaker mode, turn Larry loose and enjoy the fun !!
Larry's dad spends a lot of time on the phone.
He actually stays completely silent at night. He gets upset if we stay up late and keep him out too long. If you look at my other videos there's one of him saying "it's time to go to bed". He does that when he's ready to go in his cage and have the lights turned off.
My husband and I had been married at least twenty years when we had gotten Ruby...one morning Tom left the kitchen light on accidently and left for work 4:30am . About five I look out and that damn light is still on, I call out ''TOM!!!" I hear "WHAT!!, oh okay he's still home, I dose back off about five thirty I look out and see that damn light still on, grumble grumble he must have gotten up late.....I go "TOM!!!" I hear "WHAT!!!! okay , I say ~~nevermind~~~, Ruby and I did this thirty minutes later..befoe I duh!!! figured out who was answering me!!! She never said another thing after saying WHAT'' every time...

I guess it will hold in court.
its amazing how he remembers whole conversations. Or at least runs parts of conversations together to form a whole. Then hangs up!
I think this is the most wonderful thing I've ever seen!
Just got home from a stressful day. This is what I needed. Thank you for making me laugh. I so needed it I love him.
I think what is scarier is hearing Larry imitate his owner perfectly, hearing your voice come out of a bird!
Your parrot comes in handy when telemarketers call
Amazing bird. Sounds uncannily human, he underplays it beautifully.
Are parrots like tape recorders? That is so freaky!
lemurian chick it takes a while for some birds to pick things up. I have 2 birds my African grey prefers association words whereas my macaw likes repeated words
My grey can pick up some phrases after only hearing it once, unfortunately that means when I stepped on a piece of glass once and cussed a blue streak, he of course had no trouble repeating that often.
A Macaw at my friends house would try to mimic conversations he had heard earlier. So it sounded like jibber jabber. Like how if you're at a party or something the conversations are all blended together and incoherent.
uncle ted L lol, I'd like ty o see/hear that
They are not like tape recorders. *They* decide what they will repeat and what they don't. I can't get Scooter to say his name no matter how many times I repeat it, but he likes to call out, "John!", sometimes "John! ... WHAT!". Also, they get better with practice. At first, I could always tell if it was him. But, he's gotten better. Now about 3 out of 4 times, I go to answer the call only to find out it was the bird.
He remembers that there are seven beeps for the phonenumber. Creepy..
Not creepy, just amazingly intelligent ❤️🦜

I Love it! You're parrot Larry is hilarious! Thanks for the upload! Keep up the good work with him! :-D
this is adorable. it reminds me of a young child/toddler who picks up a phone and copies a parents dialogue. interesting how the bird pauses after certain phrases 'oh yeah...' and his voice tone is consistent with word meaning i.e. 'ok' as if he really just heard something and is confirming it rather than just mimicking the word. shows how observant an animal can be.
