I was using both of these, but switched to Ironlak. I love it coverage. Hobby lobby has it at $5.99 as of 09nov24. Walmart sells the 2x stuff at around the same price. Both Rustoleum and Krylon have way bigger color portfolios, but give the ironlak a try. Please note, the spray cap is slightly different, so the paint sprays heavyier.
I would take some wooden dowels and cut to a workable size and hot glue each tooth to dowel end and then have a stand that you can slide the dowels in to keep them standing up. Thank you for sharing I learned some tips and tricks also.
as for the bubbles, you also are trying to paint "before the rainstorm begins" :( Being in Florida, you have the same problem with spray painting that I did here in Bama. It's called HUMIDITY!
Hey, Michael! True. But I’m right next to the Everglades so it’s always humid where I am. What’s frustrating is how it will happen with some colors and not others. With Bombing Science however I never have an issue no matter the weather.
Your sign looks great! Are these very profitable? It seems like it is very tedious, and time-consuming. I'd think you'd have to charge hundreds to recover your costs. Are a lot of people willing to pay big bucks for these? Thanks!
In the future, if you have issues with paint bubbling up, just flash the bubbles with a long neck lighter (quickly!) while the paint is wet. You have to babysit it though, and torch any bubbles that keep popping up.
Beautiful work.. Just need to perfect your painting technique Painting on wood is difficult to get smooth. Takes multiple coats of primer and a lot of sanding. I would have used an automotive paint with a clear coat on top.
Awesome! But does anyone know what the equivalent of the Rustoleum filler primer is here in Europe (The Netherlands specifically)? [Edit: I should have posted this in part 1]
The rustoleum paint is better than krylon. I haven't had any success with krylon, only issue I have with Rustoleum is the white being a pain. Sign is awesome though!!
Thank you! Unfortunately it was a rushed project so I was limited to the colors available to me to match the sign. I went to HD, Lowes and Walmart and that’s what I ended up having to use. Never again. 🤣
it's added a rounded edge. The laser added a sharp, straight cut and the design is softened / rounded over. @ThatMomWithALaser You should check out a Palm/Trim router though for sure :) You could have saved so much time using a trim router and a "round over" bit. They're a lot more powerful than your dremel but if you can get to grips with them you'll save so much time and effort.
@@MattHashTwo thank you! I have one but I don’t trust myself with it. 🤣 Plus, most of the peices are so small idk how else I’d get into those grooves and thinner parts without breaking something. I’m assuming you just mean to use it on the larger peices like the bullgator one in this sign?
Thanks! But the different shades of krylon worked without issue. Hence why I don’t love spray painting and why I prefer to only work with Bombing Science paints. When I do I never have issues.
@@michaelwenmanK7USN I guess it’s worth a try but I’d have to clean it out each time to change the paint correct? Then I’d need more than one if I want to create that ombré effect while the paint is still dry.
The sign looks SUPER great. You are so sweet to make it.
You totally nailed that green paint fade!
This turned out amazing and the tips and tricks were so useful ❤
Thats brilliant Love Love Love it.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share your feedback.

Emily great show thanks I met you Friday at Lightburn Expo remember Laser with a Mom. Not Chuck
Bahahahah I do remember! Thanks for watching. I hope you had a great time at LBX. 🙂

Emily great videos! could you do a video on Bombing science paints when your get time?
Thank you! I don’t use them too often but I can add it to the list. What do you specifically want me to cover in the video?

@ThatMomWithALaser that seems to be how it always happens lol. Feel like I'm always running around trying to find paint. Lol.

I’m trying to understand the purpose of sanding the mdf.

The primer is not Krylon. There can be reactions with switching up formulas.

Have you ever tried airbrushing instead of spray painting
I have not. If I painted all the time then I would invest in one but this is only something I do occasionally. :)
@@ThatMomWithALaser a dual action airbrush is fairly inexpensive on Amazon as are small compressors.

I only use rustoleum 2x cover
Thanks for sharing. I haven’t been as lucky. ☹️
