I remember being there in about ‘74 and loved every minute of it so it was a perfect place to enjoy one more significant milestone in our lives. We can’t ever postpone because it was a big ask for my folks to make it this year. I will take my family next year but it’ll not be the same special moment in our lives. And the Mauritians who happen to read this comment; this must be a very difficult time for you as you are all in some way dependants of the tourist $$. Holdfast. And we will see you in 2021.

Port Louis Mauritius, 1972. Our U.S. Navy destroyer pulled into port for a 2 week holiday, it was unbelievable, like being transported back into the 19th century- we loved it, we became broke real fast with the nightclubs, and the girls- the girls of Rose Hill; days and nights this 20 year old sailor will never forget- sad to hear what has happened now to our once island paradise, but the memory shall remain pleasant.

I've been to Mauritius a few times and I'm pretty sure that one of the hotel you stayed in was at Trou Aux Biche because I recognise the beach - is it Beachcombers? Because that is where I stayed the first time I've been to Mauritius and the other one was La Pirogue in Flic en Flac because that is where I stayed second time round - third time was in Hilton in Flic-en-Flac as well. Recognised all the places you went to like Chamerel Waterfalls and Seven-Coloured Earth, also noticed you went to Iles Des Cerfs island on the catamaran, lion feeding in Casela National Park, Le Morne Brabant and looks like you went to Black River Gorge National Park too. I went to Port Louis, Iles des Cocos Island, Cascades Waterfalls, Le Vanille National Park, Pamplemousse Botanical Gardens and Gris Gris Cliffs in addition to the ones put on your video. Love the video, great work.

I was disappointed in this video - it only showed a beautiful resort and beaches and the seven-colored earth - there is sooo much more to Mauritius!!! The Botanical Gardens are out of this WORLD - the Tea Plantation and sampling, WALKING UNDER THE WATER - AN OUT OF THIS WORLK EXPERIENCE. We were there in November 2019 !!!!! This video could be from any Caribbean Island - sad !! THERE ARE WORLD CLASS TORTOISE SANCTUARY - We interacted with one tortoise, who was 106 years old - there were 200 tortoises there, new horns to 106 - they interacted with us beautifully !!! French pastry shops are everywhere - just delicious !!! At our local hotel we got to order room service breakfast via Whattsapp !! HAVE YOU EVER DONE THAT BEFORE !!! OUR VERY FIRST TIME, AFTER BEING AROUND THE GLOBE !! ??? SIMPLY AMAZING PLACE !! STAYED THERE FOR 7 NIGHTS !!!
Sorry to disagree with you , but there are many more pristine islands throughout the world , because they are so natural , authentic and not destroyed by tourism .
One of the most corrupted countries in the world where minorities like Muslims are persecuted by Hindu majority. Main jobs are reserved for Hindu majority. Democracy and freedom of speech are limited. You will not be imprisoned but you or your kins can be punished by a transfer to work far away. Police can harass you early in the morning. A fake democracy. Still like a third world African country. Shame!

Just as you've stated that in many ways it is very much like a third world country with first world amenities. Beautiful beaches/sunshine/people/no taxes along with corrupt politics....
