  • In this episode of Building the Barndominium, I share some tricks and tips when you are installing Versetta Stone Siding. To me, Versetta Stone is the best looking Faux stone out there. It is a cast concrete product that once installed will fool most people into thinking it is a real stone.

Quick question. How do you install this stone with board and batten siding? The window trim, then siding should go on first, but can't because the stone flange has to go on first.

This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

My wife and I, both retired, have been discussing a Barndo. We really like the idea of having all our stuff (Garage, Workshops, home, storage) all together in one building. We currently, like so many people, have multiple structures for all this causing more maintenance and yard acne - which we really hate. You are doing an exceptional work on your buildings.

I really like your parents home a lot. The thing I like about it is that it has different roof pitches and the exterior doesn't look like a two story box. Yes, you can doctor it up like you did on this build but at the end of the day, it still looks like a two story box even with the covered deck. I'd like to see some vaulted ceilings on the inside instead of flat and almost flat lids. If Greg purchased land and all the building materials, would you help him build his home for free or at his wages?

Jeff Isn't that odd? I'm in Texas and banks are advertising Barndo financing. I would be curious as to why a region would have a preference. We are going to start our build soon, and the cost per foot is significantly better than conventional. End product is beautiful, and less to insure as its less prone to weather claims. Resale is fantastic.

We've built 4 in Colorado Springs area all had zero issue with getting loans. One was my personal house, I didn't use the word Barndominium though. I said "we are building a post frame 4 bed 2 bath single family home". We applied with 2 or 3 banks and no issues with any of them we just went with the best rate. They appraised great as well.
