I just received Middara as well! I splurged on the neoprene pads. Punched everything, and put in baggies. I'm excited for it, but I've got to play through Gloomhaven first. Also, Middara's rulebook is an undertaking. It's gonna take a bit to get that 70 page tome committed mostly to memory!
Been getting in a good match on Imperium Classics going as we speak. Still learning the mechanics of it but it’s awesome! So much so I already have Legends on the way, haha. I also picked up the deluxe set for Yedo last week and I got a game of that in. I haven’t tried the Turczi solo included in the box (as it plays a little differently from the base game). I wanted to get the full experience of the base game first so I checked out a variant I found on BGG and it worked great!
Wow you have some big ones to get through, Good luck! I recently acquired Warps Edge and Circadians First Light, liking them both a lot. But I did sell Spirit Island, I thought someone else can appreciate it more than me!
I picked up Space Empires on your recommendation. This rulebook is killing me. There's not even a 'set up' section. I will figure it out I'm sure. Let's see I also got into Imperium Classics, Arkham Noir, and Aeon's End New Age so far.
@@boardgamerants I was getting tripped up by the starting with 4 shipyards bit. The 1st Doomsday machine just appeared and i'm sure it will annihilate my feeble defenders.
I can’t stop playing Champions. Every time I tell myself, “No more packs!” I end up buying more. Bullet Heart looks fun. Middara, now I really want to play that but I think I spent too much money on games this year. If I didn’t get a PS5, I would’ve bought Middara.
Ah, the elusive PS5... yeah, until those come down out of the $1000 range and back to half that (which may be a while), I'll be passing. But I've already got the money set aside when the day comes! Bullet Heart is a ton of fun, a mighty little game. A review on it is all but certain in the future!
Played Imperium Classics and Viscounts of the West Kingdom solo over the weekend. Viscounts fits in nicely with the other 2 in the trilogy, but I'm not sure I like it as much as Paladins. I don't like knowing what the Ai is going for even before I select my starting card/resources. However, all three play differently and I love the art, the feel of the cards, the color palette, etc. of the series - I'll have options. I've only played Imperium Classics twice - the 2nd time solo. I messed up the rules - forgot can't play barb cards after become empire - but otherwise I'm getting it. Game is longer (as you noted) than what I expected but that won't limit my interest in playing it. I like the cards that let me steal resources from the AI, especially if a "free play" when I have a card that can be exhausted to take a card from my discard pile -- must keep AI as poor as possible.
