First of all well done Sophie for being so brave and doing this video. It’s really hard performing under these conditions. Howard, this is a fantastic opportunity for every level of pdi to understand how a real lesson should fit in to the 17 competences that we will have to prove on our part 3 test. I personally managed to pick up on quite a few mistakes by the pdi, so thank you Sophie. Try, fail, learn, succeed
Absolutely I have to say Howard you are very helpful and one in a million I enjoy your videos and I really learn a lot that I need to know , although I have been driving almost 28yrs but your videos are in different level . Thank you
Howard I really like that you're doing these, I've enjoyed watching along and trying to score the lessons and then seeing how it compares to your comments. It's so glaringly obvious at times sat this side of the camera, and much harder to realise you're doing these things at the time, so well done to your PDIs who are happy to be shared on RUclips. Really appreciate these videos 😄
Thank you so much for this useful video. It helped me to understand my mistakes. I failed my pdi part 3 for first time. But now I feel very confident to have go on 2nd attempt. Howard videos are very helpful. :)
Thank you very much for this briefing, don't know if you agree wth me that, the PDI was pointing with the pen as she was instructing, I felt that was something to talk about in the briefing.
This a classic case of the PDI not understanding the difference between client centred and client lead . Sophie allowed her pupil to virtually drive like a full licence holder , basically she was a passenger in the car giving the odd direction and a kind telling off now and again. As you say Howard she needs to be more proactive instead of constantly reactive which could at times be highly dangerous to other road users. It is so easy to say to your pupil , check this, watch that , move over a bit , what is the speed limit and if you were being taught by a family member that would probably be all the direction you would get. However we are paid an hourly rate to inform and help our pupils understand why these actions are not safe and the possible consequences of our actions so that we can give our pupils a chance of being safe drivers for life. There has to be agreement between the Instructor and the pupil when incidents are safety critical so that the pupil has an opportunity to analyse and fix the problems, with help, until they finally agree that what you have taught them is a much safer way drive. The light must come on. Well done Sophie , lots to learn yet but keep going. We all had to learn the hard way.
@@How-2-drive Thanks! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos, which have greatly enhanced my understanding of the requirements for the part 3 test.
