CJ Entertainment (CJ 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean film production and distribution company that was founded in 1995, and it was a division of the CJ Group from 1995 until 2011. CJ Entertainment distributed films by the then recent film company DreamWorks in Asia (except Japan) from the late 1990s into the mid 2000s, and the CJ Group also invested in the founding of DreamWorks Pictures in October 1994, a year before CJ Entertainment was established. As the twentieth century came to a close, they introduced their second logo in the film Chunhyang, which was released in late January 2000; this was the start of several successful films by the company, since during the run of their second logo (2000-03), five of their films won the Best Film award at several Korean film festivals, like Oasis (오아시스) and Memories of Murder (살인의 추억) for example. The first ident with their third logo may be the most memorable from the company, which appeared in many films and TV shows by them for nearly twenty years, and it appeared on the renowned film Parasite (기생충) in 2019, the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 92nd Oscars (2020). In late 2010, the film company merged with several companies to form CJ E&M Corporation, which owned CJ Entertainment from 2011 until 2018, when CJ E&M and CJ O Shopping merged to establish CJ Entertainment and Merchandising, abbreviated as CJ ENM. Some months before CJ Entertainment introduced a new on-screen logo in June 2022, they rebranded the text in their previous logo to CJ ENM, and this change remains the same in their current logo.
