Connecting Two Aquariums With An Aqua-Bridge!

Just a preliminary look at the 2 aquariums in Jack's room that we connected with an Aqua-Bridge and how we set it all up. Lacey supervised the entire project for Quality Assurance. We were amazed at how fast the clown loaches started using it. We have an earlier video that shows where we got the parts and basically it's a hurricane we got from Pat Catan's with 2 corners we bought in the plumbing section at Lowe's. We used silicone to connect them and make it water proof. We will be uploading a video soon showcasing Jack's room, the connected aquariums, and all the awesome little dudes that live inside of them, so be sure to SUBSCRIBE and hit the BELL for future notifications!

Cool idea. Ide like to put a turtle in my tank it’s about same height. Wasn’t sure if turtle would have a hard time coming up for a breath in such a deep tank

@@littlebeardango6505 Yep. Unhappy fish would usually stay at the bottom of a tank and not move around as much, but these clown loaches seem to be very happy with their environment.
So this is what having a dad feels like.
Jack would say he has a better understanding of this after getting a lot of these kind of comments....we really appreciate it....my dad wasn't so great....my brothers and I decided to make things different when we became dads....we hope you have a wonderful evening

when i was little, i used to dream of having pipes like these all around the house for my own fish, imagine a fishy pipe as a hand rail/bannister for the stairs !

Sometimes I have dream where I’m cleaning out a tank and then all of a sudden the fish starts to float above water out into the air. Then they start to swim away and I’m like trying to shoo them back into the tank. Weird dream

OMG, me too! except for the cleaning the tank part. It's just an aquarium without the lid and fish start floating out of there, and I'm worried what if they get tired and fall to the ground. I try to get them with a bucket but it's hopeless. I also have a place with aquariums in my dreams, and when I have that particular recurring dream I feel guilty because I don't remember when was the last time I fed those fish or changed their water.
I've had that dream too! Very upsetting
I’ve heard that if people have dreams about snakes or something like that it means a new baby in the family lol maybe the fish dream is a sign of something.
I had that dream too. Like I was sitting next to my tank and the fish started swimming out of the tank. I pushed him down and he made an angry face lol.

Those things can grow to be a fairly good size. I've seen those in oscar tanks and thriving. It's actually a video on here if I'm not mistaken pretty cool. Some pretty big clown loaches though for Oscars not to be messing with them. Pretty awesome video right here. Love the bridge! 😁

Jack and Dan ive always wanted to buy clown loaches but they grow to damn big, my biggest aquarium is a 50 gallon so i assume thats to small for a full grown one.

i always had this idea where i'd decorate my house with a series of just straight up glass tubes where fish would swim inside. never had the time to do it i mean i don't even have a house LOL

Thanks....these clowns have moved to our 220 and this set up now has 3 tanks and 2 bridges.....this is a remarkably stable system requiring very little maintenance....the plecos and hillstreams keep the glass very clean and it's way over filtered and when we do water changes we don't even take the bridges off we just take it all the way to he top and then to the opening of the bridge and do that 3 or 4 times and in 20 or 30 minutes we are good to go for another few weeks....the UG in the middle tank and deep substrate in the side tanks and not over feeding helps a lot too....we have several designs and encourage you to check out our playlist and links in the description for more....I've been designing tanks for 41 years and have made myself, Jack and many other people many tanks over the years and we will be sharing more every Friday and some other fun stuff on other days as well....thanks for stopping by and be well....

But it's cool work, merging two tanks with fishes and turtles with bridge, and especially good fun to do it with kid as a parent/child project! Creating good memories etc.

I've never found that clear tube, where do you buy that piece
This set up actually has 3 tanks and 2 d bridges now and the following videos show all of that....You can google "hurricane" and find these glass structures pretty easy....we talk about these a lot and use them in several of our designs and also make our own sometimes and have done videos about that as well....

When you carved those holes for the Pvc how big in circumference did you make them and did you have a problem while doing that with the light on the fish tank cover.I love your idea for joining fish tanks I'd want to do that.
We just customized it with the grinder until it fit just right but this has all changed now as this was some time ago and we update and change our tanks all the time....check out our aquarium playlist which we upload on every Friday and all sorts of other fun stuff on other days
Full disclosure. If given fifteen straight years to contemplate how to keep water in the bridge it would not have dawned on me to airline siphon it, wish the story was cooler but it’s not. In fact my envisioned fill techniques were so grossly off par they can’t be uttered.

wow! Came back here after watching your latest video to see how this bridge was done! So awesome!!! Its such a unique and nice touch to your tank, love how they swim back and fourth and how it gives them much more area to cover. So cool!!
Thanks so much.....this was about a year ago and we've added a lot since then and will continue to....inevitably we plan on having an aquarium in every room in the house....each with it's on unique creative design....we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

We have updated this set up more than 5 times now and it's bigger with 3 tanks and 2 bridges and we are now adding new background lights and live plants and avatar rocks....stay tuned for more!

Thanks so much....I've been designing aquariums for 41 years for myself, other people, and for Jack ever since he was born....also, since I am a nurse, for some of the hospitals and facilities I have worked for....we are newer to RUclips, but not to the hobby....this set up now has 2 bridges and 3 tanks....be sure to check out our playlists/links in the description for some of the things we've already uploaded....we do a lot of UG lights and background lights and other fun stuff....we are always changing and trying different things....thanks again for the nice comment!

Yes.....it's basically just one big tank....

The problem of such a bridge is that there is little oxygen and eventually the fish die in there.
not true at all....they are doing very well and thriving and hang out in the bridges all the time especially the big gold gouramis....you have a lot of catching up to do we have done many videos since this one....

That’s cool I used to have a bridge but it was a shop brought one used to fill up with algae and get blocked. Been thinking about building a bridge for my indoor pond so it’s from one pond to the other. 😊👍🏻💞
