Owned every model of Celica back to the old RWD ones that looked like a 280ZX with an even uglier rear end, the later Celica Supra and the 73 Coupe........I still think this corolla is the nicest corolla since the old SR and SL coupes, the original FX GT E91 and the GT-S AE92. I didn't have the WRC, just a great wee G6R that took me all over Europe and the UK and never thought I'd love a FWD so much, I loved that car and even asked to buy it back last year but got denied lol. In comparison the TTE Compressor and Regular TSports I bought look and handle like shit.....and the 1999 to 06 Celica looks like cheap shit in my opinion.
I couldn't believe it when Toyota replaced the Celica with the Corolla in the WRC, one of the blandest looking road cars. Trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes that this was a car you should go to the showroom and buy because of rally success was just cynical
