Although the dovetails on HW rifles are a standard size they do vary some. I pretty much make these to fit the action they are going on. In the future I'll probably slot them with a side clamp.
i have a hw30 that had the galling problem but on mine it was galling on the piston i checked it and it had about a .010 out of round so i turned the oval out on the lathe and re polished and now its smooth as silk and shoots around 600 fps not sure if it was the right way to fix it but it worked i have the machinery like you what are some of your suggestions to do to for accuracy that i can do machining wise
HW flares the back of their pistons to fit the receiver better. Making sure the rifle is sealing correctly is 99% of the effort. Other than that, not over springing it would be my only other big caveat. Hope this helps. Paul
I had originally put that page up because of a handful of people saying the work I was doing wasn't needed. I took the original article down because of feedback from people that got the impression I was insinuating the HW30 was a problematic rifle. That wasn't my intention at all. In hindsight the fact that it only addressed things I was improving on and not the many benefits and charms of the rifle it did come across very one sided. I'll eventually do a new article or video series in the future as time allows.
Work of art, love the set back trigger as well.
Thanks!
Beautiful work Paul!.
Steve
Many thanks!
Simply art, greetings Mr. Watts from Catalonia, Europe.

Would this fit the HW77?

Hi , would you make this sight for Hw30 and ship to Canada
How does one go about contacting your machine shop?
My contact info is on my web page, www.springgunning.com Also, there is a email linked on my RUclips channel page when you click on about.
What would the cost of this sight be ?
I made this a few years ago. My time in the shop is very limited and I'm no longer taking orders.
Very cool project. One day I'd like to set up a 77 or 95 with a long range peep sight😉. BTW, I sent you an email. Stay well!
Didn't see the email. Give me call when you can.
it would be possible for you to republish that wonderful page of tuning of the R7 / hw30 . Thaks a lot.....
