    Take the words from Palworld’s devs, maybe it’s not too bad for the game to die down for a while, not everyone can enjoy the same things for days and months unless they’re addicts

    I love the update cycle. If I ever wanted both characters from each patch, I can easily wait until I get paid each month. It's a win-win for me: Easy on my wallet while still able to get the characters I want.

    I think the game is fun as it is.
    I tried making a new acount and its bombarded with events and alot of quest so I stop playing that account and stuck with my main.
    Its ok to have a dry moments here since I also play genshin and HSR.

      I appreciate your perspective. I don't play any other games. Maybe people don't feel the emptiness as much if they're constantly switching between different games.
      Some of the controversy turned me off to Genshin, which is sad because I really enjoyed sharing the excitement for characters and story, and I was a day 1 player.

    tbh I really want the patches to be shorter. but I think they are still not ready to do that. They need more people working on the project to do that and I wish they can be that company when the game reach it's first anniversary. I'm hoping for the best and good luck to them!

  • @primadansaripudin9269

    I think they can fill these long patches better with better events, the current events feels really short even after being timegated the worst being the Lollo campaign despite having 7 days run I cleared the rewards in 4 with no other incentives of playing aside from the hilarous sidequests it's just a huge miss.
    They could probably makes multiple different events overlap and as for the aforementioned Lollo campaign, I think they can make the rewards sorts of infinite small stuff with big rewards like astrite being limited and makes the currency itself somewhat farmable.

    0:25 its a 6 week cycle, 1.1 had 7 weeks because they anticipated 1.1 version by 1 week, so 1.0 had 1 less weeek and 1.1 had one more week of duration

  • @johnhallow
    @johnhallow 2 месяца назад +1

    Genshin has a 6 week cycle. I don't see how one more week will be a threat to player retention. This is just the nature of gachas. A lot of people drop out after launch, but past that most people just settle into a pattern of logging in to do their dailies. As long as the patches retain their quality it won't be a problem because there are basically zero alternatives to Wuthering Waves and Genshin. If you want an open world action adventure game those are your only two choices. People who want something chill will generally stick with Genshin, while people who want more involved combat with probably prefer WuWa. But iirc the plan is to go back to 6 weeks

  • @trashbuilds8351
    @trashbuilds8351 2 месяца назад

    Even if they do want to change the cycle back, if they did it right now it would be too obvious it was because of zzz lol.
    As for ppl thinking you said the polar opposite thing of what you said - yeah that happens a lot. I used to do a lot of public speaking and I'd work really hard to make sure I clarified everything for every variable thought I imagined ppl having, and without fail, I'd get people saying stuff like "it was so awesome what you said about......" and a bunch of their own ideas that was NOT what I said at all and was actually dangerously wrong so I'd have to find a way to not crush the encouragement but reiterate what I actually said hahaha - it also was like that when they took things negatively.
    The reality is, we all interpret things from the limitations of our frame of reference and so things are depleted from or added to the meaning we try to convey. It's hard - but it can be worth it for the chance to engage with people who offer a mutual exchange of ideas, so keep it up!

  • @zangetsuha

    Gachas are inherently designed for people that don't have or spend much time playing games. They are side games. Once you catch up with content, all you can do is 10min dailies and maybe 2-3h weeklies until the new patch or events.
    Just play something else while waiting for patches or if you don't like other games find another hobby. Gachas are not meant to be played every day all day like MMOs or MOBAs. For that you have those other genres. Alternatively just play multiple gachas. But you wil never be able to play the same one gacha 24/7.

  • @Justin-ud9rr
    @Justin-ud9rr 2 месяца назад +10

    I'm already falling out of the game because of the update cycle. From the start of 1.1 to the beginning of 1.3 will be almost 4 months without new content. I am starting to struggle to get the motivation to just log on and do dailies in WUWA. Im even debating, just not playing until 1.3. I never felt this way with HSR or Genshin. I think the update cycle will really hurt them in the long run if they don't start adding content faster.

    • @theekaimusic
      @theekaimusic 2 месяца назад +2

      Not enough mats, not enough events, the abyyss (whatever it is) sucks, no new content, lack of side quests, late recycling. I still seriously love the combat, but it's not going on. I barely log in to do dailies, it's like only if the game gets better I don't want to keep behind

    • @EXTRA_WAVY
      @EXTRA_WAVY  2 месяца назад +1

      I'm not at that point, but I definitely understand it. We need more. I hope that maybe they'll either shorten the update cycle and/or stagger the release of different things throughout the patch, so people aren't overwhelmed and also have something to look forward to. Like, imagine if this week we just got a companion quest for Calcaro or Baizhi. Next week something else.

      Did you play Genshin on realease? Because it was exactly the same thing if not worse. The first area expansion was Dragonspine on December 23rd, and the game released on 28 september.
      Honkai star rail is different but the same regarding the "running out of things to do way too quickly", unless it's really a big patch (like Penacony) you finish everything they have to offer in the new patch in 5 hours or so, after that you just login to do dailies and weeklies. Which is fine because it's not a game oriented towards exploration.
      It's already huge that Wuwa relased an expansion after only one patch, it's only normal that you will get a couple of months before they start relasing big things again, then i guess they will start ramping up the updates while expanding the team.
      Personally i don't mind, because it leaves me time to play other games in the meanwhile.

    Wuthering Waves had the best honeymoon phase of any gacha game I've ever played. But as of now the game just feels hollow and empty. The daily loop and horrendous RNG mechanics just make it dreadful to play now. I'm having way more fun with Snowbreak and NIKKE.

  • @Blacknight6577
    @Blacknight6577 2 месяца назад

    Every Gacha game goes through their ups and downs and depending how good the game is will determine its lifespan. Just look at the Hoyo games for example as they’re still strong after years and it’s just recently they’re having competition so we’ll see how their competitors do later on.
    I just think it’s funny when people highly hype and praise a new game like WuWa, but then later on stop playing it as much or then say the game is decent at best. Not saying WuWa will be like that, but I’ve seen it so many times it’s laughable and eye rolling when they do that as it makes them sounds fake AF and some just want Hoyoverse to die down aka Genshin Impact.

    Log in do daily f off. The cycle of most gacha game. The game already lose 60% of the lunch playerbase on mobile. Losing players after the hype die down is to be expected but 60%? That's quite a lot. Hope not so much on pc.

    • @EXTRA_WAVY

      That IS a lot. It's likely due to a lot of mobile players not having a recently released devices tho. Here in Tokyo, I always see people with older devices on the trains.
      True, a lot of gacha games do have that kind of gameplay cycle. As gacha games are gaining a wider appeal, I think we will see more changes in how they structure their updates and content strategy. There was a time where a fully voice, open-world gacha was unheard of. Hopefully, things in Wuwa improve sooner rather than later.
