Ingredients:
Raw rice - 1 cup
Roasted urad (black gram)- ½ cup
Water -41/2 cup
Peeled garlic -1/2 cup
Salt -as req
Ghee - 1 tsp (for flavour)
Method:
1.Dry roast urad until golden brown.
2.Mix with rice, wash well
3.Heat water in a pressure pan.
4. Add garlic, coconut, salt and when it starts boiling add rice to dhal
5.close with lid and pressure cook for 10 min in low flame
6. serve hot with coconut thuvayal & ellu thuvayal.
Very nice recipe, we don't usually add coconut but will try with coconut

Very different recipe made out of urad dal. I like the way you tell about the nutritional benefits of each food ma.'am. It inspires us to opt more healthy foods and respect our traditional food.
