They should and it would be interesting but the concern is that it may not be worth it considering the weight difference. Meaning I assume heavy truck drags lighter truck.
Rivian 100% won that. It pulled the cybertruck closer to that line. Only reason it didn’t pull further was it kept rolling back into the ruts. Go Rivian!

It's not about power nor torque. It's a battle of traction. One moved the other backwards twice, so imho there's a clear winner what vehicle has the better tire!
You could get two brand new F150s for a few thousand less than the cheapest Cybertruck, and that's paying full sticker price. Even the highest end F150 starts in the upper 70s.

Wasn’t expecting that from Tesla though 😅 Tesla 245 horsepower R1T 250 horsepower, both did great job but was expecting more from the R1T 😢. Interesting ❤
Torque + weight = traction. All things being equal the Rivian is better. That being said, nobody cares. Buy what you want, hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.
Do it on pavement and see how it goes . But I agree with one of the other posts just have them perform head to head honest driveability and endurance tests on road real world numbers
I’m sorry, those aren’t trucks. I laughed at the chest thumping about horsepower, but as soon as you hook a trailer behind either of them for distance hauling, their range drops to about half. Faggy AF.
A tug of war on dirt was the dumbest thing ever. Is this what MotorTrend has become?
Stupid people and dump idears
Do it on asphalt and see which one wins (or breaks something last).

And they might actually break something

Try it on asphalt or concrete and see which one breaks something first.

Not really. You can get them for 80k now. Not much different than an F-150

I’d like to see a redo on a grass field after a rain storm. Include more trucks, best of five playoff style until you have a word champion
Tug of war on dirt makes absolutely no sense.
Heaviest vehicle wins 99% of the time. It's that simple.
This explains why Touareg V10 TDI is undefeated.
Exactly, a 100Hp truck, can always pull a 700Hp Ferrari, especially if the truck is carrying load, it's more about traction, not power or torque
Was this the 1% or we were just lucky?
Rivian max pack is heavier I think
i think they're finally starting to understand the internets...
Would probably happen on asphalt. To much force is being lost here in the dirt
I'm shocked that the back bumper didn't get ripped off of the Cybertruck. They have a bad habit of doing that.
That requires crashing it first
No they don't
Why do you have the Cybertruck in high suspension setting? Why not keep it in low and do the test?
Saying that doing this on dirt was boring (twice?) is an understatement...
Tug of wars between trucks are just plain stupid. It has very little to do with power. More to do with grip. Tires and gearing and the ability to 4 wheel lock is what makes the difference.
rivian wins just because the hitch of the Cybertruck is mounted on aluminum hardware and it will break first lol.
Theoretically true, but Cybertruck can tow 3000 lbs more than the Rivian. 14000 lbs. vs. 11000 lbs.
@Techridr sure. That's why people has been sharing stories or cybertrucks with the hitch ripped off.
