    A Redbull Honda in MotoGP would be nice though

    • @DannyPlaysStuff
      @DannyPlaysStuff 4 месяца назад +1

      Except Red Bull and KTM are inseparable now.
      The last time Red Bull became a full title sponsor for a MotoGP team was 2002 with WCM. The reason why Red Bull eventually joined forces with KTM in lightweight classes after 2002 and subsequently abandoned MotoGP for 15 years was due to the fallout between Red Bull and WCM, which ironically saw the former rejecting WCM's plan to switch to Honda machinery for 2003.

    • @hydralance8837
      @hydralance8837 3 месяца назад +1

      I dont know if Red Bull wants to be title sponsor for more teams when they already are inseparable from KTM. And Red Bull literally stopped sponsoring Honda this year as there are no Red Bull logos on the 2024 bike.

    In 2021 they had the chance of concessions to start early development. Pol Espargaro was so vocal about it but Marc and Honda were to proud to admit it. Marc won and took podiums to stop the concessions and now they're in a big mess

    • @tjroelsma
      @tjroelsma 4 месяца назад +1

      Marc was still able to win with the Honda in 2021, so for him and Honda it was business as usual. It wasn't until Marc broke his arm and missed so many races that something began to dawn at Honda that their bike was far worde than they feared. When Marc finally came back, Honda must have thought everything would be fine again and Marc would start to win races and championships as usual. But Marc's arm wasn't fully healed and due to that and the changes that Honda had made while he was out, now even Marc couldn't win with the Honda anymore. But still Honda wouldn't listen to reason, even coming from Marc, and it took Marc to sayL "enough is enough" and to quit Honda for the Japanese to finally face the truth: their bike had fallen way behind the competition in aero and handling.

    It't not a huge shock given the whispers about them splitting multiple times but i wonder if Aprilia had a say as they still don't have a title sponsor & back in the 250cc days had Repsol as their sponsor 👀

      It would hilarious yet fitting, if Repsol starts working with KTM (or, for the sake of Spanish patriotism, Tech 3 GasGas) as a secondary sponsor again, replacing Mobil 1/Motul; given their previous collaborations in KTM's old factory-team 125cc/250cc bikes and late-2000's Dakar bikes.

    The japanese bike makers are not making the money they were making, and that's going to take a huge hit in Europe with the Euro 5+ and pending Euro 6 emissions standards leading to them not selling their top bikes in Europe at all anymore.

    Repsol Honda always had to have one Spanish rider, which is no penalty given the talent available, but this might give them a bit more flexibility. They need to make a more competitive motorcycle, like Aprilia has done. Sponsorship is only part of the problem.

    I believe strongly a big entity as Honda is already working on the 2027 bike with all the regulation changes. And I hope that all the testing they do in the coming years towards 2027 are focussed on that new bike. Last couple of years have been rough and I am still quite baffled Puig is still around running the show pretty much. Changing things is the only way forward and changing management shouldnt be an exception to that.

What was plain in the video is that these two don’t know what they are talking about. The idea of an allocation of rides, based on country of origin is laughable.

    In my opinion, MotoGP is getting out of hand with complexity. honda is better off walking away. When the motorcycle changes during the start from the race like a transformer, I think it’s getting a little out of hand.. they are not even real motorcycles. They are ridiculously expensive Prototypes. Honda you only need to be in world superbike racing.

      Honda didn't quit in the 800cc traction control era, those bikes were arguably even more complex than current machines. If they do leave it will be the humiliation of having the European teams soundly beating them. Right now it looks like they're holding on for the new rules that ban ride height devices and simplify aero to come in. It's only a couple of years away now.
