I have a torn rotator cuff also and completely stopped making art until it heals. So months have passed. I’m right handed and that’s the sore shoulder. But in any case, don’t be so hard on yourself. You are doing very well and working very hard. You should be very proud of all you’ve accomplished so far !
It is no fun, that's for sure. my two tendons tore three months ago, I did physical therapy two times a week and had a cortisone injection in the shoulder, all to be told it didn't help me enough and i need surgery. I hope yours heals soon, and hopefully without surgery! I'll send you some healing thoughts! Take care of yourself!
I'm so glad you rediscovered where your true joy lies! When you are happy, it shows, and in turn makes the viewers happy. Do you Amy, and you and your channel will thrive.❤
Thanks, Tara- Lee! I am feeling very excited about my new project and also about working in sketchbooks for a while. It's gunny how something little like that can change ypu whole viewpoint!
Apart, maybe the best part, of admiring an artist… is also admiring their humanity! Art is like a window into a soul, as complex and unique as can be, we need to appreciate the entire experience someone offers of themselves.
A good piece of advice I got once was just be yourself and your true tribe will find you (or something song those lines) you’re good at what you do and your openness is heartwarming. You can’t be all to everyone and spreading yourself so thin will make you ill. It’s sad to see you struggle physically and mentally. But I’m happy you’re seeing for yourself that we’re here for you. We enjoy seeing you enjoy yourself and there’s so much to learn from you. Keep doing what gives you joy, happiness is. Contagious. We all love you for being you ❤
Yes that is all so true and easy to forget. This whole youtube thing is still very new too me and I am still trying to figure out what to do and what not to do and how much is too much. Thank you for the good advice and for watching!
Hi Amy ---I am very new to your channel & I hadn't seen your artworl. I think I came in after your shoulder injury. You are an AMAZING artist. I'm glad you are finding your footing again. I was very worried about you when I watched the one video where you were not doing well. As a retired Nurse I can tell you that the surgery you are having will take some time to heal from. I do know that stress will make the healing process longer so getting things set up ahead of time is good but give yourself some grace & don't expect to jump right back in at full speed. Also follow the Surgeon's advice on pain meds & take as directed. So many people try to not take the pain meds & the pain gets away from them & then it takes longer to get it under control. And pain meds slow down the digestive tract so have a stool softner on hand. That is too bad about the Copic's. I have never used a Copic but that is not good for something so expensive. Take care of you!!!!
You're a great artist and teacher and your style is real and natural and we all appreciate you. I'm an interior designer and it is really funny what people will say. My "art" is larger scale, but it's art all the same and people who don't have the nerve to do art are the ones to comment. I'm glad that you have discovered that you are not the problem. Your loyal followers love you and that's all that matters.
It's good too know at least one person would watch!🤣 actually I think there are three of you so far! I will probably try it just to see how it goes. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment!
Yes, I would watch the short videos. I love tips and ideas too. Im glad you have an option now with your drawing board for your recovery. It's nice to see you excited about the solutions you've found. I believe I have seen art for sale with disclaimers regarding light fastness. You can offer both, the original and prints since prints are usually more affordable than an original piece. And you're right, people watch the first video that pops up in their feed for the first time and make complete judgments about a channel. Let them 🦃 happily fly away. Lol Congrats on the new greenhouse!
Thanks for the feedback regarding lightfastness and prints! I appreciate that very much! I think I could always just out it up with the disclaimer and see what happens. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thank you so much! That has always been one of my main goals here. It's really important for me to be honest about it all and not just show the glamorous side of art!
Amy I’m so happy to see you in better spirits. I can understand why the last few months have been so difficult for you. I had rotator cuff surgery also. Please take it easy during your recovery. The last thing you want to do is tear something again right after surgery. We will all be here waiting for you when you are well enough to come back. Taking care of yourself is number one priority. As for your suggestion of a Tuesday short video I would watch anything you are able to put out. Love your channel!
I’m from Malága, Spain, I’m so far away from you but I love your chats and your tutorials, please don’t give up, I’ve been learning a lot from you. Kisses
I’m new to your channel and am shocked you’ve had shoulder trouble since November. I had tendon and rotator cuff repair surgery. The pain is some of the worst. Bless your heart for carrying on like you have. I could see the excitement when you remembered your portable desk. Art is going to be a very important for your recovery! Keep up the positive mindset.
Lol! It was like it just snapped. Oh well! But it did feel good to stand up for myself for once! Thank you for your continued support of my channel, Rebecca! I appreciate it!
I definitely hit a break through! Someone responded to this video too and said they agreed with them and they have always thought I haven't made as much art as I should amd I very politely siad that if they didn't like my channel there was no need to watch it. I felt a momentary twinge of worry when I read it but then reminded myself it was my journey and I didn't have to do amd be everything. Hopefully I don't backside!
I love art tutorials but I love everything. Good for you about answering that guy back. I can’t stand people who think they have the right to tell you how you should run your own business. Someone needs to teach him how to use the delete button. Keep doing what you’re doing it’s all wonderful.
Thanks for the encouragement! I just don't understand people sometimes. I was always taught to be kind. I don't know where everyone's kindness has gone. Ot so sad to see. Someone else said they liked the frugal crafter who said "this isn't an airport. No need to announce your departure." I love it!
Have you thought about trying watercolor markers, too, which are supposed to mostly light-fast? They might give you the flexibility you need. I love Faber Castell WC markers.
@@winterwoodsstudio You can lay down a swath and then take a wet brush and spread it out or blend on the page or use a palette or a piece of watercolor paper to mix colors there and then put to the page. They are great fun, beautiful colors, and lots of things you can do with them.
-I would love the the arty Tuesday. -My opinion is to sell alcohol ink marker art in prints only. It's a safer option. -I think that commenter was saying you are a great artist, even though you *doubt* yourself. -Thank you for standing up for yourself. I've been watching your channel from the beginning and you have done loads of art and tutorial type videos (sometimes long format, sometimes helpful tips). - OMG, I would be spitting fire if I had spent all that money on Copics and then didn't even get to use them. I hope they respond and make it right.
I think I'm going to try to do some art Tuesdays and see how they go. And thanks for the feedback on the prints. I know you re right. I see other people doing it but I know "two wrongs don't make a right" as they say. And I am STILL made about the copics. It's got to be some sort of manufacturing defects because I've hears of them lasting for years...
Just found you today. I love your chat style & appreciate your humanity. I really enjoyed viewing your work. Good luck with your surgery and your new art plans. Pen & ink is my wheelhouse.
Hi Amy, I’ve been watching your channel from the beginning. You put so much into your videos and it’s obvious how hard you work ( I don’t know how you do it). Ignore any armchair critics and soak up the positive comments. Follow your own heart and remember it’s your channel, make it suit you. You have a lot of fans and I’m here because I like you and your authenticity and love of all things arty 🎨😊💛
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words! It has been a very hard year. I don't think I've ever worked this hard and it's nice someone noticed it. Thank you for watching and commenting!
There is a known issue with the Copic caps. It’s been an issue for years where the caps on the sketch markers are not tight or they have cracks and cause the marker to dry out. I have lost 25 markers already. Just keep your head up and get yourself some Ciaos for now. It may not be the whole set, but at least you will be enjoy your copics. Keep creating 💛💜💙
Have you tried the ciaos? What do you think? I know I need something with a brush tip so that automatically cuts put several brands. Does Copic acknowledge there's a problem at all? Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment!
@@winterwoodsstudioi have a mixture of both Sketch and Ciao, making up the whole set. What I started to do is buy the refill that dried out and refill a Ohuhu blender marker with the colour. Ohuhu’s do blend, it’s just their brush type that’s different. I asked Copic about making empty Ciao markers or replacement caps and they just started following me on IG and told me that they will take it into consideration.
Amy, I'm so glad you're finding ways to haul yourself out of your slump and make that lemonade. Being able to do that is an admirable trait. More power to you! I had a similar experience (though with my ankles) and had a bed tray with an adjustable table top which allowed me to draw and paint while bedridden. Sanity saver! As for the comment which caused upset, remember that you've only been on RUclips for a year and I, for one, think you have moved a little mountain in that span of time. Well done you! 👍 All the best for the op ❤
Thank you for the encouragement and kind words! And we must be on the same wave length because I've been looking at lap desks for after surgery too. Maybe for use on the couch or something! Also, it is so nice to have someone notice how very hard I have been working. I ha e put in so much of my time and energy and even my heart. I think that's why it hurts when someone says I'm not doing enough. Thank you so much for seeing me am also for taking the time to watch and leave a comment.
I’ve only been following the channel for a couple of months but it’s so good to see you so full of enthusiasm and plans. Working in front of a sunny window will do you good as well, all that sunlight will help your overall mood and that will help your recovery ❤️. There will always be someone on the internet who doesn’t like something you might do and who feels they have the right to try and bring you down. Says more about them than you.
Yes, I was just telling my husband, if it would just be spring and i could go sit out in the sunshine, I'd feel so much better! Soon I hope! And, I knew I'd have to deal with unkind comments and what not, but knowing I would have to, and actually doing it are a different thing. Someone just told me I talk too much!: ) lol. what am I supposed to do, make a video of me sitting there silently?? Oh well. Sometimes, you just have to laugh.
Hi Amy, I’m in love with your dog,he’s so adorable. I would love to learn how to draw anything. I have the Pigma black pens in a few sizes. You greenhouse is so exciting. Sounds like you have a very supportive hubby. My brother had rotater cuff surgery a few years back. He said it wasn’t was bad as he thought it would be. Praying yours goes well. I have so much to learn, glad I found you. I watch Lindsey Weirich a lot, but she’s way over my head, Excellant artist though. Looking forward to spending time with you.
I have only watched one other off your sessions . I liked it. It gave me something I didn’t know I was looking for. You know all comments are positive if you can use them to go forwards in life. It depends what we are looking for, and no one is forcing us to watch. Have a good day 😊
Thank you so much for your thoughtful answer! It really helped me see my videos through another perspective! Thank you so much for watching! And welcome to the channel!
Hi Amy! Lindsay from the Frugal Crafter once said "This isn't an airport, so you don't have to announce your departure" -referring to unsubscribers. Very true! Also, Raffi and Klee, two artists I love, have a recent podcast about tips and things they've learned from having a Patreon page. You may find it helpful, because they specifically addressed people pleasing and the feeling that it is never enough. And last but not least, I'd say sell prints of the marker work. Sending you good wishes and thoughts as you go thru surgery and recovery!
Lol! I'm totally going to use that quote sometime! And I fill definitely check put the video from raffi and Klee! Thanks for the recommendation and for watching!
I'm a new subscriber, and I already love you! Your channel began with you creating videos doing art that makes you happy... this is your journey, no one else's. So if someone comes along with a negative comment I wouldn't even give the satisfaction of even reading the entire thing. Immediately delete it! You're fun, and beautiful .. and creative and an incredible artist! Keep up the great work! I'll be there to support you all the way!
Welcome to the channel! Thank you so much for subscribing! I hope you love it here! And thank you as well for your thoughtful and encouraging comment! I appreciate it so much!
Three was another ArtTuber who had the cap problems with their Copic markers, too, and Copic acknowledged the issue. They do know about it, so persist in trying to get through to them!
Wow! Rotator cuff surgery is difficult at least from watching my daughter who at the time was 16 years old goes through it. Prayers of healing and peace. Take it easy. Do what the doctor and physical therapist say to do. Come back when you’re ready not when anybody else is. ❤ As for the Copic’s, you got me thinking I needed to check mine. It’s been couple of years since I’ve pulled mine out and I honestly never use them but for a couple of small drawings I did I don’t have near as many as you do but out of the 38 none of them were cracked. However, shade E 15 dark suntan is completely dried up both ends. Then I have 4 that the chisel only provides a little bit of color very faint more alcohol shows than color but the bullet end works great.
It’s super hard to realize that you’re not the problem. Very proud of you! 😊 Also happy you thought about using the drawing desk thingy. Hopefully that helps. When I had elbow surgery on my dominate hand/arm I couldn’t even grip a fork to eat, let alone make art. I discovered paper mache which I could do with my left hand. I spent 3 months smooshing gluey paper onto cardboard pieces just so I could keep making something. By the end I ended up making some pretty cool stuff and have added it to my mixed media arsenal. 😂 The message…make what you can, and what brings you joy.
Thanks ypu for the kind words! It took me a year to realize it, but I got there in the end! It sounds like you coped with your injury in a creative way! And good for using the paper mache in mixed media that sounds awesome. I am greatful everyday that it's my non-dominant arm. It could have just as easily been the other arm. So small silver lining! Thanks for watching!
So excited to see some pen and ink. It was my first Art love. You’ve motivated me while motivating yourself. 😊 I’ve recently pulled out my copics and micro pens too. Sometimes when you’re stuck you have to go back to what got you excited in the first place. I’ll check out a couple of those brush pens too. 👍🏻 I’ve only used tombow and micro brush pens. Have a great week creating.
I'm super excited about it! And excited to work in my sketchbooks for a while too! It's good to have something to look forward too! Thanks for watching!
I just ordered The Artists Way and also a workbook to go with it, looking forward to going through it to get out of this art block I’ve been in for far too long. I would love to see Tuesday art times become a thing….it stinks that actual art videos never seem to perform as well as hauls but I do really enjoy these videos where you talk to us and it’s more organic showing what else you’re doing and what’s on your mind. I’m glad you’ve gotten to a better place with your shoulder and the decision to do surgery. In the grand scheme of things, a couple of months off now to avoid a joint replacement is a much better and far less invasive procedure to endure. On the Copic markers front, I feel like they should replace your dead ones, no questions asked. I feel like they probably won’t, or they’ll give you a ‘coupon’ for a few bucks off an order or something…..they just seem like the kind of big company that looks down their noses at people and don’t really value their customers. Keep us up to date on if you hear from them though, I’m genuinely curious about their potential response! P.s. I can’t wait to see your sketchbooks, the art you showed in this video was awesome! Loved the ink work and yeah, you should beach back out and do people again, because you were really good at it! As far as your less lightfast pieces, if you sell it with the disclaimer and recommendation so that there’s no way they can say you didn’t warn them, then you could definitely sell originals as well as offering a more lightfast/affordable option of a print. Some people just prefer owning an original, regardless of if it will last beyond their lifetime.
I’m so happy for you to be in a better place and it shows which is marvelous. I’ve already said I’m down with the Tuesdays can’t wait if you go that direction
I think I'd like to try to do them. film some low key art making every Tuesday, do some mild editing over the week and then put it up the following Tuesday. WE will see how it goes i guess! And thank you for the kind thoughts! I appreciate it!
i dont know if you will see this message. but please dont listen to other people. its your channel, you do what you like, this is only my second time seeing you, i have learned quit a lot already. you carry on love, hope all goes well with your arm. bless you.
Thanks for another interesting video - that's a real shame about the persistent problem with the Copics, especially as you only recently invested so heavily in them. Hope the manufacturers can offer you a satisfactory resolution. I wouldn't see any problem in selling original marker art, as long as you've made any purchaser aware that colours might be fugitive or liable to fade. I like the idea of shorty Art Tuesdays with maybe short studies, quick try outs of a new supply etc. I always struggle to find time to watch long Y/Tube videos so any short format quickies get my vote. Incidentally, congratulations on passing 7,000 subscribers - that's quite a vote of confidence from an awful lot of people! Kind regards, Brian.
I have seen from other artists including the frugal crafter that there is a big problem with the copic caps. I'm really happy that you got your easel out and that you have found inspiration especially in something that you can do after your surgery. I know that after the surgery on my left leg and ankle it took me almost a year and a half to pick up even a coloring book and then now that I'm just over 2 years I'm finally painting again. I can't wait until this new pain doctor gets things straightened out to where I can actually go back to doing my colored pencil paintings that I love so very much.
Do you by any chance know which video she talked about the caps in? I googled it but couldn't find it. I would love to know what she had to say about it. and I am so glad I thought of it! I do feel excited again. I am a little worried about how I will feel after surgery. I hope I can stay excited. It sounds like you have had to struggle so much and I am so sorry for that. I will send you healing thoughts and I hope the doctor gets things straightened out too! Thanks for watching!
So happy for you. I don't even watch most of your art hauls. But I love your tutorials. I have a smaller easel just like yours. And I attached some wooden rulers to the bottom to extend the lip so the painting doesn't slip. I use gatorboard to tape down my work. Decades ago I did pointillism and your video reminded me how much I loved it. But it takes so much time. Keeping doing you. We with find you.❤
I wish there were more veiwers who actually liked the art! I am so glad there are at least a few of you! Thank you so much for the encouragement and the kind words! I appreciate it!
So happy to see your enthusiasm about your new ideas! Keep pouring into what you want to do. So excited for you and what is ahead for your channel and your own work. Love your resilience! Keep it up!
Hi I'm not a professional artist but hoping to take the steps to become one. I purchase lightfast materials for my final pieces. My opinion on alcohol markers is sell printed but if omeone wishes real copy make them aware of the possible facing issues but I wouldn't be putting it up for sale initially. Think that would be safer. I love your work and you chatty relaxing style x
Per your question about selling original works of art in markers with disclaimer. My answer is yes! Love the idea of Tuesday art time. So happy to hear about your A-HA! moment and realized it wasn't your fault. I have been subscribed to your channel for a year and you offer so many different things. I watched first your art haul and been watching since. It's really a shame about the Copics.
WTG Amy! 1) Yes to Art Date Tuesday with short tips and tricks! 2) YAY to the art board! I have a similar one that I have been doing all my art with since my neck got so bad. I will sometimes clamp my piece to the board - mine isn't as give as yours so that might not be too practical for you 3) BIG YAY to 'IT'S NOT ME"!!! Copics? I am really enjoying my Ohuhus these days buy then again, I never used my Copics much - I only have a handful and they were used more for accents rather than for full-on art pieces. But that being said, I am going to continue with my expensive Copic avoidance for now, especially given what you have found. The continuing story will be interesting to see if they do right by you or not.
I love that you are smiling and so happy! Your greenhouse is going to be amazing. I really loved everything about this video. The Pigma markers are my favorites. Pink really looks great on you. ❤
Aww thank you! It feels good to be excited about something again. It's felt a little dark lately! Thank you so much g for your continued support of my channel and for taking the time to watch! I appreciate it!
Tues art time sounds like a great idea, especially if you can limit the amount of time you have to put into editing, etc. Your work is gorgeous! Do you have the faber castell albrecht durer watercolour markers? They're lightfast and blend like regular watercolors on appropriate paper if you don't let them dry down too long. That might be a marker solution for your recovery period. They're pricey, but not much more than the copics. Check Jackson's if you're interested. They have really good deals on them sometimes. I bet your greenhouse will be awesome! I'd love something like that. I'm just about to start a bunch of early seedlings under growlights in the basement around my 'studio'. I'm still not totally used to Kansas seasons, and the pre-Spring time feels pretty bleak, though it's been a remarkably mild winter, for the most part.
Hi Amy I think you are a wonderful artist,I loved seeing your art your very clever . I wish I was half as good as you. I do hope your op goes well and you get better quickly.😊take care and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Aw thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it! I hope everything goes super smoothly and I heal super fast so that we can all get back on our art journey! Thanks for watching Hong and commenting!
I will have to check it out! Did you find a solution or just switch marker brands? *edit I already watched it! Lol! It was one of the ones I watched when I first realized what was happening and googled it!
We do now have lightfast alcohol markers because they are pigment based. The new Talens Pantone Markers are pigment based. They are expensive, but considering how incredible your marker work, you might consider getting them.
I tried a few of them in the sketchbox set last spring and I actually wasn't super impressed at the time. I might pull them out and give them another go, just to see what I think! Thanks for reminding me of them! Also, those are water based I think, right? Not alcohol based? That's probably why I wasn't super impressed... in general, I am not a fan of water based markers but I will definitely still dig them out!
Love long, chatty art videos! They make me feel like I have a company while working. I was using alcohol markers for three years, while still studying, trying to love them. But they are just not for me. The only alcohol marker that I use is black, for outlines or details. But on the other hand, I love Copic multiliners with pigment ink. They are the only multiliner that I can get refills for in my local art stores.
This is helping me so much, watching your channel! I have a shoulder problem too, and vision in only one eye since two years. I’m struggling to get back to doing art. I haven’t found something I can do well yet. I used to teach art and sell art. So I’ve been without work since retinal detachment happened! Besides missing the income, I miss the creativity and joy brought me. I’ll ask this… anyone have any advice to cope with disabilities and other roadblocks with doing art? Anything I could try? Any method to compensate? I’ve asked many artists, no one knows lol… I’m not giving up though! I love your tenacity and passion for art, it inspires me. Thank you!
Well, I have Crohns disease, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks my intestines along with other organs. It can feel pretty dark some days, but the best advice I can give is find something that gives you joy and do it as often as you can. Rest when you need to, but also know when it's time to push yourself a little! Sometimes, the best thing we can do is to go create something! I hope you find a way to get back to art! I am wishing you happy days ahead!
Amy, for the love of all things art, I hope you realize you can block the naysayers and I urge you to do so. This is the hardest part about RUclips. These people are just out there commenting to upset people. I love your art and channel. I have decide YT is bad for our mental health. Ignore the idiots and focus on you all the the wonderful things you do. keep being you, that's why we all love you!
Can you believe I didn't know you could until someone recently told me in a livestream??? Oh well, I know now! Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! And thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment!
I did! I'm not sure where that is. I had it hanging on my wall for a while because I liked it so much. It reminded me of Anne of Green Gables! That must have been the last person I did! Good memory!
The issues with the caps started happening around the same time they changed their refills - half the size for more money. If you like the Copic nib, look at the Blick Studio Brush. Same Japanese nib. Personally, I prefer my Ohuhu over any of my 9 other brands. Oh, the new Olo markers are really nice too. Good luck with your surgery! 😊
I literally have some of the Blick markers in my cart and have been going back and forth on ordering them to try them out. Maybe I should! Thanks for watching!
I may be wrong, I thought you told us you live in a cold place in the winter time. Could the basement get to cold that the cap cracked. I live in Boston where it gets cold but not as cold as states boarding Canada. I know that the winter of 2015 for us was so cold that the cold cracked my inside double pain windows. I know that I have COPICs for about 14 years and none of from have cracked.
No, our basement, never gets Below sixty . all of our pipes and water heater and laundry machines and food pantry and everything are down there. if it froze we'd be in trouble! It's consistently about 60 in winter spring, summer, and fall. The constant temp is great for storage! I've googled it and it seems a lot of people are having troubles with copics bought in tje last few years...
I think it depends on what product you are selling with alcohol markers. A full art piece no but greeting cards or bookmarks I would say yes. Of course a disclaimer about the fading would be necessary.
Curious - you mentioned your Coptic markers were down in your basement. Could the air temperature have anything to do with them not working correctly? I know I have to be careful what I keep downstairs. Hoping Coptic has good customer service 🍀😊
Our basement is a constant 60° no matter what time of year is. I don't think that would have been the issue. If anything, I prefer to store things down there because the rest of our house has wild temperature swings upstairs, like in the summer when things get hot and humid summer? I guess that's what I was thinking anyway. So fat I haven't heard back from Copic but we will see i guess.
Selling prints sounds like the best way to go, though putting a disclaimer about fugitive colours + requiring UV frames is pretty honorable to me. I know Kristy Rice does the latter with her watercolor pieces, since she likes to use paints that aren't artist grade now and then. She also uses a UV spray protectant too.
Good point! I could check into UV spray. I love the watercolor pigment opera rose, but I know that's one that is made with dye and fades really quick. I don't use it, but I often wish I could! I was kind of hoping I might be able to weed out the markers that fade really fast and maybe just not use them... It's tough decision! Thank you for your feedback!
Alcohol marker originals, I wouldn’t sell them, but if someone really wanted an original and clearly understood the lightfastness issue and still wanted it. Heck Yeah, absolutely! Sell it. Since original work is much more expensive, maybe include a bonus print with purchase. Write a disclaimer on the back of the original. Van Gogh’s sunflowers faded like crazy! But, we still love them!
Use 2 way tape it does great talking about your project type it to the wood board it works Great also your doing an awesome job!! Keep up the good work
I’ve had Copics from Blick for 7 years and no problems, except to refill or replace a nib. I can’t take the Ohuhu the cap color is no way near the ink in most cases and it drives me crazy. Good luck
I like the copic ink better but the caps cracking makes me so ang4y. I'm toying with the idea of getting some if the classic copics and putting brush nibs in there and see what I think. Thank you for watching!
Could you share your portfolio again? When I went to link it benight up warning page trying to take me there. Went to blick and don't see inserts on theirs.
I just checked and the link is working right for me. even if I do an incognito page, It's still works and takes me to the right thing. maybe check it again? Or on a different browser?
Have you tried that? Do you need to clean the brushes like you would have to after using acrylic paint? Or can you just cap them and leave them for next time? That might be something to try! Thank you for commenting!
I have done it once and just rinsed out with water. Miss Betsi uses the brushes for ink washes often on her channel. I think she uses Dr Ph Martin ink as well as Acrylic inks. Also, Sennelier sells a set of preloaded brush pens with colored inks. I'm not sure of the lightfast ratings on those, though. I'll be interested in seeing tests with this concept. Good luck
You can still save the copics, I believe they should replace them for you, but if they don’t you can seal the crack with UV resin, then put a few drops of copic reactivator, and you Dre good to go!
Your repetitive marks comment was really helpful as a way to view a really slow moving model painting process, lots of tiny marks and gradients, thanks. Different media can be freer, but that's the virtue of this fond frustration I don't have time for at the moment.
I would LOVE Tuesday art time! Show us how to draw stuff like a barn, a bird, easy low key stuff or whatever you want to do!!
I think it would be lot of fun! And just low key and enjoyable. Maybe I could put some relaxing music in the vodeos... it's a fun idea!
Very good advice!
I would love Tuesday art time that’s my day off ……wonderful
You're a great artist and teacher and your style is real and natural and we all appreciate you. I'm an interior designer and it is really funny what people will say. My "art" is larger scale, but it's art all the same and people who don't have the nerve to do art are the ones to comment. I'm glad that you have discovered that you are not the problem. Your loyal followers love you and that's all that matters.
I would watch the Tuesday Art Date. I'll watch anything you post actually. p.s. The ink work you flashed was awesome.
Lol
Congrats on the new greenhouse!
Thanks for the feedback regarding lightfastness and prints! I appreciate that very much! I think I could always just out it up with the disclaimer and see what happens. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Your authenticity is refreshing. Keep on your personal journey. Thank you for all you do.
Kisses
Thank you so much! I appreciate the support!
Amen Amy!!!! Your channel your journey your art. Maybe you’re not proud of replying but I’m happy you stood up for yourself!!! You have that right!!
Lol! It was like it just snapped. Oh well! But it did feel good to stand up for myself for once! Thank you for your continued support of my channel, Rebecca! I appreciate it!
I’m so happy and proud you responded the way you responded. This IS your journey and no one can tell you how to navigate it. Love your channel ❤
Ooooh! No, I haven't! I might need to check those out. How are they for blending and layering?
@@winterwoodsstudio You can lay down a swath and then take a wet brush and spread it out or blend on the page or use a palette or a piece of watercolor paper to mix colors there and then put to the page. They are great fun, beautiful colors, and lots of things you can do with them.
I love your personality 😂, so yeah I would watch everything you make, you choose I’ll watch 😊🎉
Oh and I wish you a quick healthy recovery ❤
You have a lot of fans and I’m here because I like you and your authenticity and love of all things arty
🎨😊💛
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words! It has been a very hard year. I don't think I've ever worked this hard and it's nice someone noticed it. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@winterwoodsstudio Sending good vibes and love your way from Tasmania, Australia. (I’m another mum & wife saving up for an art studio😊💛)
All the best for the op ❤
I love seeing how excited you are! We are excited along with you ❤ sending love and healing from Phoenix!
Aw thank you! And thank you for the healing thoughts! I appreciate it!
You are a wonderful artist! Praying for a speedy recovery from your surgery. Hugs.
Oh thank you for the kind words and prayers! I appreciate it so much!
I haven't heard back from them but you never know i guess! Thanks for watching!
Wow! Rotator cuff surgery is difficult at least from watching my daughter who at the time was 16 years old goes through it. Prayers of healing and peace. Take it easy. Do what the doctor and physical therapist say to do. Come back when you’re ready not when anybody else is. ❤
As for the Copic’s, you got me thinking I needed to check mine. It’s been couple of years since I’ve pulled mine out and I honestly never use them but for a couple of small drawings I did
I don’t have near as many as you do but out of the 38 none of them were cracked. However, shade E 15 dark suntan is completely dried up both ends. Then I have 4 that the chisel only provides a little bit of color very faint more alcohol shows than color but the bullet end works great.
Tuesday art times sounds wonderful!
Oh Good! Thank you for the feedback!
I love that drawing board. How cool!
You’re doing fabulous! Take good care of yourself!💜💜💜
Thanks, Melissa! I'm trying! Thanks for your encouragement!
Yes to Tuesday art time!
i dont know if you will see this message. but please dont listen to other people. its your channel, you do what you like, this is only my second time seeing you, i have learned quit a lot already. you carry on love, hope all goes well with your arm. bless you.
OMG Bella LMAO the digging!!! Also, JFC Amy, your husband is an artist too, look at that greenhouse he's creating! It's amazing!
I know! He's built a bunch of pur furniture too! He does a great job!
Loved seeing your artwork - the gold leaf watercolour and your pen and ink drawings were beautiful. Would love to see a tutorial on the gold leaf.
Great suggestion! I will out it on my list! Thanks for the idea and for watching.
Tuesday art time sounds lovely😊
It does!
Loved the hedgehog you drew!
Thanks! I'm hoping to refine the sketch and transfer it to some watercolor paper today or tomorrow!
I did this book last year. It really frees you to be creative "out of the box".
It was so much fun “helping” you sort your microns! 🤭🥰
😁
So happy to see your enthusiasm about your new ideas! Keep pouring into what you want to do. So excited for you and what is ahead for your channel and your own work. Love your resilience! Keep it up!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate the encouragement, Michelle! I appreciate it!
I’d really like to watch watercolors on the drawing desk. The ink work was very interesting as well.
I think if I was very careful with water control, it might work don't you? Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment!
I would enjoy seeing your artist date Tuesday play/create time if you end up doing them.
Great! Thank you for the feedback and for watching and commenting!
Wishing you a comfortable recovery=) You are a great and inspiring artist=3
Thank ypu so much! I appreciate it!
Yes, yes, yes for the new stuff.
:) That's how I feel too!
I am so happy to see you excited and happy!
I am so glad I feel excited again! It was pretty dark there for awhile! :)
Amy i love your channel and u do plenty of art tutorials. Your a great artist and true to yourself. Dont change or i will unsubscribe.
Thank you so much!
Hey, it’s them, they’re the problem not you! (Music plays in my head) 🎶
Your content is wonderful, informative and engaging!
Lol! Yep! That's what I was singing too!
Im so happy for you! cant wait to see what you do with the pen and ink!
Me too! It feels so good to be excited about something again! :)
Your excitement is showing! 💕🌸💕
It feels so good to be excited about something again! It was a rough couple of months! Thanks for watching!

I had the same issue with the copic sketch markers and made a video about it!
I will have to check it out! Did you find a solution or just switch marker brands? *edit I already watched it! Lol! It was one of the ones I watched when I first realized what was happening and googled it!
@@winterwoodsstudio☺I contacted copic EU official distributor send some pictures and I got replacements!
@@filsartjourney I emailed them on their official site and I sent them a message on Insta, but I haven't heard back yet. :(
We do now have lightfast alcohol markers because they are pigment based.
Art Tuesday would be great.
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!
You are so talented, I would be happy with any tutorial you share!
Aw, thank you! I very much appreciate it! And thank you so much for watching!
Hi Amy. Love seeing your cute pup. She looked so happy! Okay so I think its the start of your art studio but still continue to watch to see! Lol
It isn't but it's still exciting! And yes, she's a very happy girl! Thank you for watching!
Your pen and ink pieces are stunning!!!
Thanks you! That means so much to me!
I think Tuesday art dates sounds great.
I'm going back and forth on whether i should just but them on this channel, or start a separate one.... I could at least do a few and see how it goes!
Yes, you did the little girl in pastel, she is beautiful.
I did! I'm not sure where that is. I had it hanging on my wall for a while because I liked it so much. It reminded me of Anne of Green Gables! That must have been the last person I did! Good memory!
This is wonderful, I love it ☺☺☺
Thanks!🧡
The issues with the caps started happening around the same time they changed their refills - half the size for more money. If you like the Copic nib, look at the Blick Studio Brush. Same Japanese nib. Personally, I prefer my Ohuhu over any of my 9 other brands. Oh, the new Olo markers are really nice too. Good luck with your surgery! 😊
I literally have some of the Blick markers in my cart and have been going back and forth on ordering them to try them out. Maybe I should! Thanks for watching!
@@winterwoodsstudio The only difference is the squared off edges of the barrels. Performance is identical. 🙂
Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it! And thank you for watching!
I Just found your Channel - and Love it... So happy I found it 😊
Oh I Just realised that you are injured - so get Well soon (sorry for my english - I Hope it isn't to hard to understand)
Welcome to the channel! I hope you love it here! And thank you so much for the well wishes! I means a lot! :)
That is all excellent advice! Righting the disclaimer on the back too is genuis!
Use 2 way tape it does great talking about your project type it to the wood board it works Great also your doing an awesome job!! Keep up the good work
Great tip! Thank you! I will pick some up!
I wouldn’t sell the original of particularly fugitive media. People are too likely to forget they were warned.
That's so true. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for pointing that out!
I hope Copic does the right thing, and replaces those markers.
Mee too but I haven't heard back from them yet. :(
I’ve had Copics from Blick for 7 years and no problems, except to refill or replace a nib.
I have had the same issues with my copics and I too am upset
Could you share your portfolio again? When I went to link it benight up warning page trying to take me there. Went to blick and don't see inserts on theirs.
I just checked and the link is working right for me. even if I do an incognito page, It's still works and takes me to the right thing. maybe check it again? Or on a different browser?
Useful learning about your Copic problem. Sometimes people can leave the strangest and sometimes frightening comments.
Yep. I don't understand people sometimes. At least I finally figured out how to block people!🙃 thanks for watching and commenting!
Art tutorials would be fun!❤❤😊
Hope u heal quickly. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🩷
Have you thought about using Acrylic inks in water brushes? You can do dilutions of the ink too. Regular ink works in the water brushes too
Have you tried that? Do you need to clean the brushes like you would have to after using acrylic paint? Or can you just cap them and leave them for next time? That might be something to try! Thank you for commenting!
I have done it once and just rinsed out with water. Miss Betsi uses the brushes for ink washes often on her channel. I think she uses Dr Ph Martin ink as well as Acrylic inks. Also, Sennelier sells a set of preloaded brush pens with colored inks. I'm not sure of the lightfast ratings on those, though. I'll be interested in seeing tests with this concept. Good luck
That drawing board is so neat! As for the people who want this or that, just say, " This is not Burger King. "' lol.
lol! That is a GREAT answer! I totally might say that next time! :) Thanks for the fun comment!
Glad it was helpful! It is very easy to get into that flow sate when you are making a bunch of repetitive marks. It's like my brain just shuts off!
You dont have to do anything different, just be yourself and do what you enjoy! we like you the way you are ❤just ignore the whingers lol😊
😊 thank you That is so sweet! I really appreciate the encouragement!
