No doubt Kuldeepji is a great guru and mentor. But we cannot ignore her talent, dedication and hard work. Singing one or two songs beautifully itself is awesome. Doing a solo concert for 2+ hours at the age of 11 or 13 is something special.
She still seems to be struggling with pitching problems. Listen to her rendition completely.. She stumbles at lower pitches. Perhaps she could select half a pitch more and still be smooth at the highest pitch. Her lung capacity could only go up from here as she grows up. Whatever, she's a great prospect going forward!

I am all for Carnatic songs and I worship the singer's too. But what we have in this video is not a live rendition of a religious song. The girl in this video is just moving her lips as if she is singing. But, this is just a staged video . There is no microphone on her and the accompanying instruments can be seen nowhere. Maybe she did give her voice during the audio recording too. But, what is the need to have the song recorded separately and the video shot separately? That means the video is promoting a sweet looking young girl rather than the divine meaning of the song

"Sree - - - Rang - - - gapuu - - raa - - - vee - - haa - - aa - -raa - aa!" I have been listening to and savoring this Dheekshidar Krithi for the past fifty years since 1970. Every morning in Maarghazhi, our local Easwaran Kovil Gufukkall will broadcast thru the mike set early in the dawn. There were no other way than to own a Gramophone than to listen to this soul melting rendition by MSma. It woke us up for studying in the "Bhramma Muhoorththam" of each day in Maargazhi and we grew up with that. And it became a life long habit to wake up around Four AM even without an alarm clock!! After we learnt the meaning and the lyrics thru the Gurukkall, we were lured even more into this. Even since that, I listen to this at least once in a day and invigorate myself for the day. Now, our Sangheedha Dhevadhai Soorya Ghaayathri is doing the same with her "Swarga Saareeram!" Enchanting and with her soft tone, crystal clear pronunciation, soulful rendition, this Krishi just fuses me to the "Prapancha Logam!" Great work Dear Strumm!!

I also feel as an older person, that this genetis preseing the classics in a more fresh, contemporary style and reaching out to a larger audience. Classics always had a niche dedicated audience. Either its a family tradition or you discover it and dedicate yourself. It can not be spoonfed. Govt. channels actually did more to showcase traditional arts 25 years ago, than today. No matter what propaganda tells you.

(I am aware of Hindustani being more prominent in North and vice versa). But this differentiation happened after foreign invasions in North. So, Carnatic is as much as of non-South as of South.

I am all for Carnatic songs and I worship the singer's too. But what we have in this video is not a live rendition of a religious song. The girl in this video is just moving her lips as if she is singing. But, this is just a staged video . There is no microphone on her and the accompanying instruments can be seen nowhere. Maybe she did give her voice during the audio recording too. But, what is the need to have the song recorded separately and the video shot separately? That means the video is promoting a sweet looking young girl rather than the divine meaning of the song

I have been listening to and savoring this Dheekshidar Krithi for the past fifty years since 1970.
Every morning in Maarghazhi, our local Easwaran Kovil Gufukkall will broadcast thru the mike set early in the dawn. There were no other way than to own a Gramophone than to listen to this soul melting rendition by MSma. It woke us up for studying in the "Bhramma Muhoorththam" of each day in Maargazhi and we grew up with that.
And it became a life long habit to wake up around Four AM even without an alarm clock!!
After we learnt the meaning and the lyrics thru the Gurukkall, we were lured even more into this.
Even since that, I listen to this at least once in a day and invigorate myself for the day.
Now, our Sangheedha Dhevadhai Soorya Ghaayathri is doing the same with her "Swarga Saareeram!"
Enchanting and with her soft tone, crystal clear pronunciation, soulful rendition, this Krishi just fuses me to the "Prapancha Logam!"

I also feel as an older person, that this genetis preseing the classics in a more fresh, contemporary style and reaching out to a larger audience. Classics always had a niche dedicated audience. Either its a family tradition or you discover it and dedicate yourself. It can not be spoonfed. Govt. channels actually did more to showcase traditional arts 25 years ago, than today. No matter what propaganda tells you.
