      Thanks, Humble! Yes, I figure that hoop is at least 80 or 90 years old and the neck must've come out of one _old_ maple.

    You didn't talk about that metal band around the bottom of the pot!! I'm so curious about it. What was your thinking behind that--is it something you've seen on old banjos, or was it your own innovation? How did you bend it and rivet it together? I think this banjo is just so cool, and it looks as old as the hills!! Great work, and great playing, as always.
