I saw the Stones on their Steel Wheels tour in the late 80's. One of the first records I ever bought was Satisfaction. I never understood why people thought Keith Richards was such a guitarist until I saw that concert. It was the best concert I've ever seen and I've been to many good ones. I'm a former touring guitarist and I was fascinated by the way he was creatively weaving melodies through the songs. It was an aha moment - that's the magic in the Stone's music!

I did see "The Who" un 88' which was there "25"th Anniversary Tour. again wish I would've went to see them ..I'll compare it to seeing "KISS" on there Reunion Tour in 96'. At that time it was nearing the '25' year mark for them & just like "The Stones" who in 89' they were in their mid 40's the majority anyways and they still had spunk & stamina. The Stones are definately one of the oldest touring bands out there just passing there "60" year Anniversary which is amazing in itself. Btw Im also a guitar player did the band thing starting back in 85' till 94'. Those were good times lots of good memories. Ended up in 5th row from stage w Pete T jammin his guitar, great show beautiful night but looong ride home as I couldn’t take the day off. Anyway, I’ve seen the stones 3 times voodoo lounge steel wheels both in carrier dome. Acoustics suck in the dome Bach then, even for U2., The last and best show was in Buffalo bills stadium on a July night in 12. It was basically an exile on main st tour, and it was the best they’d ever sounded to me live. It was so cool tailgating seing generations of fans in the lot headed to the show. Parents with t their kids. Gramps witu grandkids ( one on a leash even lol) , but it really was a sight to see., They were excellent, it was the best set list I’ve heard and if i don’t see them again I’m ok with it cuz the last one that good. Just wish I could’ve seen them when Mick Taylor was with the band,. They were at their best then, Stones easily the most durable and most likely the best band of all time.
