    I am sure things will turn for you, just hang in there! I was unemployed a period myself (as a swede) and it took me longer to get interviews/a new job, then I thought it would... Persistance wins. I think the relaxation during Christmas and New Years can be good for us all - to re-charge. And then just back to it! 🙂 All the best!

    I think it's already been mentioned, but Sweden is a country where people generally find jobs through contacts and knowing the right people. I guess your RUclips channel could serve as a way to get around that if you just keep reminding your viewers that your husband needs a job. 🙂 Lycka till!

    Wild! We have so many job vacancies and no people to hire in the north. It's critical both in health care and in the industrial field.

    There are expats in Sweden who have worked here for ten years or more that understand Swedish just fine but for some reason does not want to spek. So in my private and professional life I have run into the somewhat strange situation that I can speak Swedish but this other person only speaks English. It work just fine but it takes a bit of getting used to :)

    So you ended up in the "English trap"? Foreigners using any excuse to avoid learning the language.
    We have a lot of native English Speaking here in Denmark, when they realize that the Danes speak English, the sofa and remote control gets very comfy. On the Sofa, they can shout out to the world "It's so hard to find friends".
    In your husbands case, playing football is the greatest idea and it works. Way better integration and a way bigger network. I have seen it work so many times. In your case, find a "aften skole" in something you are interested in. It also works.

    Could be a silly idea but your oldest daughter, could you speak to her in swedish and there practice a bit swedish? At the same time give your children the possibility to learn perfect fluent english and german, but maybe you already do that. Hursomhelst välkommen till Sverige!

    Is it possible to just freelance in Sweden, without forming an actual company? Just invoice, have the payment sent, put aside SEK for taxes and pay that in one lump at tax time? We will be retiring in sweden but will need to supplement pension.

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  4 месяца назад

      Yes, absolutely! You can use a company like www.frilansfinans.se/en/ or coolcompany.com/se/en/. You pay them a small fee like 5-6% I think but they do everything for you and you don't have to start a company yourself.

    Hi this was really relevant for me thanks! You and I have the same profession and I have been applying for jobs from the UK and getting flat refusals even though there is apparently a skills shortage there for IT. Anyway, I asked one agency why and it was predominantly because someone has already been considered for the role and also they don't want to wait for the work permit to come through.
    So I've applied for the jobseeker visa, but now you have mentioned that you are getting the same rejection and I'm concerned it won't be any easier coming there to apply! I have been considering also starting my own business but thought it would be easier for integration and meeting people if I work in a Swedish company first.
    Anyway, if I do make it over there, I'll drop you a message it would be great to know more about your work situation. I'm currently studying an international diploma in Business Analysis with BCS which I'm hoping will make a difference but 🤷‍♀️

      Yeah, tough times but I'm sure with perseverance it's going to work at some point. End of the year might not be the best time either and I know it can be harder to apply for jobs from abroad. Good luck to you! :)

    How is healthcare in Sweden is it good ,okay or not really that good

    • @eightsprites

      Im currently waiting for an operation.. they understafed and I be will waiting for 1+ years. To get into the queue was fast and easy. Two doctor visits together less than $50 spent from my part. But the queue is not fun at all. I seen healthcare for my parents and its a hit or miss situation, sometimes good, sometimes desorganiserad. I think abit of luck/unluck plays a part if you get good care or not. Also had a X fall off a horse, and she got treatment really really fast.. they was quick. But planed operation, nope.. long queues

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  6 месяцев назад +1

      I would agree with the previous comment. In general, it is really quite good. Most of the time, I have made good experiences and I didn't even have to wait too long for an examination. But it sometimes can be hit and miss. But if you push for something you might be more successful rather than waiting for things to happen.

    hey! may I ask you that there are recently some media coverages in news channels in which depicts Sweden is unsafe due to gang violences or something like that and try to demonize immigrants for the problems they face. Is that really true? Do you feel safe in Sweden, let say walking in streets is safe ? or do you experience racism or xenophobia from Swedes?

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  6 месяцев назад +1

      It sounds so much worse than it is. I still feel safe in Sweden, pretty much everywhere here. I haven't experienced racism or xenophobia in Sweden. Of course, there are always this kind of people in every country but I feel Sweden is portrayed worse than it actually is. Most people are friendly :)

    Din svenska kommer att bli bättre och bättre med tiden även om du inte går någon kurs, du har ju det grundläggande i svenska nu. Svenska tidningar och tv program gör att man lär sig mer och mer. Sedan vartefter en ren konversationskurs i svenska kan nog vara bra., eller en svensk kompis där ni bara pratar svenska någon gång i veckan.
    Du lärde dig engelska så svenskan kommer den också.
    Hoppas att allt med jobb löser sig för er.

    Hi Uli. I have watch and listen to a lot of people from many countrys that want to move here but they are scared and confused.
    Why? Because of Sweden is a many times a very burocratic country. People dont know where to serch and find all dokuments and were to send them. Like is it with buying houses . Hm. So. I thought of you because you talk a lot of everything bouth about peronly things and how to contact a were to send things. I hope you dont think im rude and nosy but i thought it would bee a great chance to start a litle company with reseptionists that could answer questions and help finding right forms and documents all for a kind of fee.There is places called Starta eget in allmost every town around Sweden and from them you can get help fixing locations and help starting up things. Im too old to start a buisseness but you are , think of it. Mvh. Kj.
