I am sitting here in tears and applauding like crazy. What a passionate and beautiful performance. This is one of my favorite suites in organ literature and I don't think any performer has brought me to tears before. Thank you.
Nice! I performed this when I was an organ major at the Chicago Conservatory College. Thanks for taking me back in time! Grace Simons was my professor of organ. Bless her always!
Wow! You really nailed it. I REALLY liked your interpretation of the the beginning (32 bars+) of the third movement. Too many organists start off with triple forte and then have no place to go with the piece. You really have a gift man.
Brilliant playing! So rhythmic and exciting. Moving around shows he is "living" the music, and that's fine by me. I remember my organ teacher shouting at me to sit still; but I can't, and fifty years later I still do.
Very very good interpretation! I like your choice of registration very much, and I can tell you are deeply into the music and communicating emotions and the "groove" of this piece! Thank you very much for this experience :)
Over the last few months I have had the joy of hearing you play, and seems to get better and better. Congrats on another job VERY well done! This Suite is an absolute favorite and I really enjoyed hearing it! Thank you!
Niely done my friend. Enjoyed your performance and interrpretation. I like to use also this as a concert/recital selection and relaly enjoy playing it more than alot of compositions.. The minuet was really well done..light and airy and crisp. Thanks for posting Gert.
A virtuoso performance. Great clarity, great ideas, excellent phrasing and registration with timely assistance. Keep your energy, keep your style, don't change a thing.
The Toccata is a classic, and this was magnificent. I first heard it 58 years ago aged 8 and was mesmerised. This organist could well become the "Horowitz of the Organ"!
Dearest Gert you are à Godgifted young man. You are inspiring ans you spread journée and happiness aller over. Keep going ans may God bless you ans tour family.
applaus Gert !!
Zeer mooie versie, Gert. Vergeef mijn arme Nederlanders. Dank je wel, Le
Wow! I can tell you "feel" the music. Your performance is intense. Thank you! Come to America and have fun with some of our big organs, like the tracker at St. Mark's in Seattle, Washington or the Skinner/Schlicker at First Congregational Church in Los Angeles. We would love to hear what you could do with so many pipes to play with!
+Jeff Hong I too believe Gert really does "feel the music" throughout his entire body/soul. And I love him for it. He's both fearless, young and well trained. I've been watching his RUclips performances for some time now. And he's an inspiration to thousands in our time. However, what I'm really looking forward to are his compositions. Can't wait. Blessings all around. CVD
LIVE through the MUSIC, MOVE ALL YOU WANT... I can't even SIT Still on the Toilet... WFF PEOPLE !!! People who SIT STILL, that's because they have nothing to do! BRAVO !!! THANK YOU!
How I hate to break your bubble - This is an electronic organ in a sales studio - DO you actually think that the amount of sound and variety of stops comes from an instrument that sits BELOW the ceiling of a commercial showroom? Don't get hysterical over playing tracker organs. Use your common sense when looking at this thing before you write something like that.
Hi Gert: I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy listening to you play. It reminds me of when I was able to play the organ. In 2009, I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS and I'm not able to play the organ now or my cello. I won't go into details because I like to keep a positive attitude about things. Thank you again for posting your videos. I look forward to more.
Hey Roy - I know 3 years is a long time but I just wanted to give a little boost. Sad that you can't play. Just hope things have not become too bad for you. Listening to Gert play helps lift the spirits. Be strong, Roy.
Fantastic! I am also a fellow organist at the age of 16. I have been playing since I was 10 ish. I am still no where near as good as this organist here.
Back in the 80's, I learned this under the instruction of André Knevel. It's quite an intense piece, but still gratifying once it is "under the fingers". So when I hear this it brings back memories. Maybe have to dig it out again from under the bench!
One of my favourite organ pieces beautifully rendered; well done Gert!!! However, I would have liked to have seen some of your pedal work during the toccata.
This is real live organ music! Why should the player only have a (supposed) internal feeling of the music? All the body may be involved! Of course, rythm is somewhat floating from time to time. But the energy is there, and the feeling, the emotion, the heart of music are there. Thank you so much for giving us such a moment of real pleasure! (I wish I could, some day, play even the first parts of this piece as you do....)
Great, as always, Gert! I, too, would love to see more of your footwork in your videos! Geweldig, zoals altijd, Gert!
Magnifique ! Bien interprété, very good play ! I Don't beleive this piece would be played only with 2 manuals and pedalboard.
+BAISIN Christophe You would if that is all you had. He does pretty well with the limitations though. This is NOT a pipe organ, It is a digital copy of an ACC.
Mooi gespeeld hoor Gert! Complimenten!
Gert, why are there so few posting in recent years? Every one of your thousands of fans are waiting to hear your latest accomplishments. Do Guilmant,s Sonatas and the Widor 5th, 6th, 7th, Vierne Carillion .
You need to sit still. By doing so, this will not distract from an otherwise great performance. An excellent tempo, great choice of stops and outstanding interpretation!!
Why does he need to sit still. He is playing the music. He can do what he wants. How about letting him play and just close the eyes and enjoy because that is what you really want to do, Right? Just enjoy. This is recorded and can not change no matter what anyone says.
Returned here as the result of another fool making a foolish comment and saw this again. What Gert does is none of your business. I have seen organists a lot more violent in their gestures and body action. Leave the boy alone. If you don't like the way he plays close your eyes. Better yet - go to some other posting. Damn - Who the hell are you to tell that boy what to do??? His professor will take care of his training - not you.
+Paul Roberts - I was NOT writing to you. I was further commenting on Russel Graham's asinine comment. You did not offend me. You had no intention of offending me. I had every sense to agree with you entirely, of that you can be certain. - BUT - thank you for responding that we can eliminate this complete misunderstanding and Good-Day to you Sir!!.
VERY good, quite the time lapse in the two videos I watched. Haha. Just two things: try not to be so tense. When at the organ you should be 100% at ease, also smile and keep it up! :3
Really.... I think you should continue playing the organ just as you please..Evryone has got their personal opinions, but in the end there's only one sitting there. That's you... Obviously you've had good teachers, and PLEASE don't let all kinds of "knowitalls" confuse you in YOUR way of playing and interpretating music......
Very nice there, Gert. I think in the 'Menuet', should have less ritardando in the last few bars, and if you are putting in one, you have chosen the right place; the final cadence..
I am sitting here in tears and applauding like crazy. What a passionate and beautiful performance. This is one of my favorite suites in organ literature and I don't think any performer has brought me to tears before. Thank you.
one of my forever favourite organ-works....and master Gert plays wonderful....
Gert -
Masterfully done! I continue to be in awe of your musical abilities! Congratulations!! Carson

Wow what a fun piece; I'd never heard it before - Gothic indeed! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!
Brilliant playing! So rhythmic and exciting. Moving around shows he is "living" the music, and that's fine by me. I remember my organ teacher shouting at me to sit still; but I can't, and fifty years later I still do.
Thrilling and breathtaking! Great performance!
Just wonderful. The slow section in particular. How can someone so young play with so much passion?
So powerful and playful at the same time! What a great piece!

This is first class playing Gert. Well done and thank you.
Even as a young boy, Gert was masterful and brilliant!
Amazing, I loved it. Beautifully played!
Niely done my friend. Enjoyed your performance and interrpretation. I like to use also this as a concert/recital selection and relaly enjoy playing it more than alot of compositions.. The minuet was really well done..light and airy and crisp. Thanks for posting Gert.

The Toccata is a classic, and this was magnificent. I first heard it 58 years ago aged 8 and was mesmerised. This organist could well become the "Horowitz of the Organ"!
Very good technic and interpretional idas. Beautiful!
That was just great. I especially loved the ending note. Now where have I heard that before :)
Also agree on comments re your interpretation and registration! You go Gert!
Dearest Gert you are à Godgifted young man. You are inspiring ans you spread journée and happiness aller over. Keep going ans may God bless you ans tour family.

Uczta dla ucha i ducha! Przepiękne, wirtuozowskie wykonanie! Nie zakopał Pan talentu ale wciąż rozwija.. Gratuluję!!!
This was amazing. Thanks for posting.
Zeer mooie versie, Gert. Vergeef mijn arme Nederlanders. Dank je wel, Le
Multimo Bravo's: a heroic performance of a heroic piece !!! 👍👍👍
Beautifully played, and Happy Birthday on the 17th.
Your talent brings tears to my eyes. In a good way. Stunning!
Großartig! Tolle Komposition, erhebende Interpretation!

+Jeff Hong You missed one. The Ruffatti organ at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I admit to a bit of bias.
LIVE through the MUSIC, MOVE ALL YOU WANT... I can't even SIT Still on the Toilet... WFF PEOPLE !!! People who SIT STILL, that's because they have nothing to do!
BRAVO !!! THANK YOU!
This young ORGANIST is good. He commands this tracker ORGAN.... His technique is
awesome to be so young BRAVO!~!!!!!

Chapeau bas monsieur !!
Thanks! Rob.

Prachtig gespeeld Gert. Mooie registraty.

Great to know what's your name I love organ also great instrument
wonderful gert thank you so much for sharing
What a gorgeous sound
Kudos to the stopman. Well done, both of you.
For me, there's something about the reverb that gives it away. But Gert's playing is always top drawer!
Just wonderful, Gert!

Gert.... ik word er stil van. Geweldig man!
Gert a lively exciting performance of very fine organ literature!
One of my favourite organ pieces beautifully rendered; well done Gert!!! However, I would have liked to have seen some of your pedal work during the toccata.
Love this. Thank you.

Lovely performance IMO. Sounds and nuances brought out that other organists haven't managed.
Awesome. Awesome.
Beautiful! :')
Beautiful music !!
Great, as always, Gert! I, too, would love to see more of your footwork in your videos!
Geweldig, zoals altijd, Gert!
Wonderful.
Bravo Gert Excellent .
It's wonderful. I really like toccata.
Im really impressed ! Perfect played Toccata :)
great performance , and i thought your articulation was excellent !!!
Magnifique ! Bien interprété, very good play !

I'm currently working on this piece too, It's one of my favorites, but there's still a lot of work... You did a great job on this one, congrats Gert !
Stunning - and not so crazily fast as some play it, thereby allowing more of the notes to be heard.
Your welcome Gert keep up the fine job you do on the organ! :o)
surdoué bravo et quel son ( magnificat)
Gert at the organ, need anything else be said, except, fantastic as usual, and kudo's to Diederick for a job well done
Cosi giovane ,davvero bravo.Grande organista.
Great little change in the end chord, sounded more powerful that way!
Mooi gespeeld hoor Gert! Complimenten!

Excellent.
fantastisch bedankt ||||||
VERY good, quite the time lapse in the two videos I watched. Haha. Just two things: try not to be so tense. When at the organ you should be 100% at ease, also smile and keep it up! :3
Been hearing this 60 years, first time inUtah. This is as good as it gets . Chessnut

Good expression. I thought the organ sounded rather electronic on the Priëre à Notre Dame, perhaps I am wrong?
You were making hard work of this music ,still a good performance
En wederom heel knap gedaan!
Bravo 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I subscribed to your RUclips channel and will return to listen to a couple songs a day. Great music to listen to. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Amazing sound at 5:14. Awesome!
Sehr gut gespielt! Vielen Dank dafür.
Gert!:) Jūs esate toks jaunas ir grojate tokius nelengvus kūrinius. Ačiū jums už neblogai praleistą vakarą!:)
Wow! Just wow!
He is a BRILLIANT Organist I find no fault with his style, he is a young and energetic man.
Bedankt voor de tip ;)
