Thank you, just switch over to a new laptop and couldn't figure it out, this helped a lot
thank you for the easy to follow video, I watched a few others videos but yours is the only one that helped me!
I am glad it helped you
Exactly what I needed, individual file recovery on a different device. Thank you very much.
Thank you for this video and the others you've made for GIMP. Always excellent.
Do you know if it's possible to by-pass Control Panel and simply restore all files to a new pc straight from Settings > Update and Security > Backup > More Options? It looks the same as about 2 min into your video. The Settings route is a familiar one for setting up File History.
Liked and Subscribed! I just found your video from a search (it came up as one of the first results!) .. because I'm planning to backup data from a family member's OLD HP laptop and restore to a newer windows 10 laptop. This (and another backup video of yours that I saw before this one) will be helpful to me for what I want to do.
Glad I could help and thanks for the Sub!
@@KnowledgeSharingTech can I use same file back up stored in older laptop to recover my files more than once?
Also, i am using my friends’ desktop to recover from my backup so I don’t want all the files to go and sit in the respective folders like my photos, my documents folders in my friends’ desktop. So how do I restore all my backup files into a new folder on my friends’ desktop ? No video seem to explain this ? I just need my entire back up files to be saved in a single folder and not in respective folders of the user’s login. Thanks for answering this.
You've saved my life again. I've been looking for how to do this for week. I search everywhere. You're my saviour brother.
Glad I could help
I have a 2TB external drive with 200GB of contents in it. My PC has less than 100GB of data to back up. Is it ok to back up PC with those contents in it or do I need to use a clean/empty external drive? If do I use it, do I run the risk of wiping the 200GB of personal content in the external drive when I go to restore the back up?
So I have my external drive installed and for sure backed up on it. But for some reason, no matter how many times I click on the drive (129 gb free of 4 terabytes), it doesn't show any list of existing backup.
Thanks a lot pal! 😘
What happens when you restore a backup that has history files. For instance, multiple versions of the same which is saved multiple time over time due to File History
thank you!
Thank you very much!!! You're a f*cking god. Your video goes straight to what I was looking for
Does anyone know how to back up from UMST folder? Thanks so much!

Create a user for yourself on your friends computer let's say user1. Login with user1 and then restore the backup. The restore will go under c:\users\user1. If you had backed up folders that don't go under your home folders, they will be restored to the original locations
Great Video
my windows backup often says "not enough space". the system is 100GB and the backup drive is 250 GB, so wired.
Can I do without pendrive I meant by using mobile phone
Is this the process I would have to use to transfer the data from my old computer to my new pc? I everything transfer but not windows 10 home because my new pc comes with windows 10 pro. I just don’t want to have to reinstall all the programs on my old HD to the new computer. Thanks
This will only restore the user's files and not the apps. Also, if you have many users on the old PC, you should perform this for each one and you backup each oine
Thank you 🙏🏾
No problem 😊

I got a new laptop and created a new username and password from my previous desktop, will windows recognize my files?
You mean will it put the files from your backup of the old computer in the new one under the new username? If this is your question then yes
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thank you for your quick response.. I decided to create a stronger password and username than what I had before but wondered if that would create an issue with Windows itself not recognizing the new computer.
Will it backup all the apps
This will: ruclips.net/video/nXEqhBIHUGc/видео.html
this is not restore and back up.
Would this restore apps from old computer
No, if you want to restore apps you need to follow this video: ruclips.net/video/nXEqhBIHUGc/видео.html
