The big barn was a dairy barn. The small room you first walked into would be where the milk cans would have been filled, and a few years later, where the bulk tank would have been so the milk collection truck could pump the milk into the tank truck.
@@ForeclosureFinder yeah the cows would have their head toward the back or the the front of the barn and the concrete aisle way down the middle is what they used to milk them. The troughs that have gravel in them were where the cows would relieve themselves, and then they would clean and hose it all out. They would put hay in those areas facing the front in the back of the barn where the cows heads would be. I love just looking at real estate and your properties every Saturday we are subscribed to you on two channels. The one we watch on our TV and the one of our own RUclips channel. We are subscribed. This one has to be the prettiest. I think you’ve ever had.
Gentlemen’s dairy farm. Manure troughs run the length of the barn and have been filled in. Usually the second floor of the barn is hay storage. So many farms have been lost to development. Truly a great piece of CT history.
Very cool property, lots of potential. 11:24, that’s technically not a hot water heater, it’s a hot water storage tank, since it doesn’t have a place for a burner, I think the hot water in this house is created by the boiler, judging by what I see. That blue pressure tank is either for the hot water or the boiler.
We live on a farm and I would love to move that barn and that house onto our farm lol! Oh man, that house is just incredible. I hope somebody buys it and brings it back to its original condition and doesn’t make it modern.
Nope, the windows don’t have to be replaced. Storm windows. One of the windows even looked to have one. I really like your channel, but you say constantly “replace the windows”. It annoys me, because on older homes, care should be taken to retain the original as much as possible.
that is the biggest turn off for me with houses up north i hate sump pumps and having to deal with water in the basement. It makes me so angry to have to deal with we had our house flood right up to the first floor because the pump stopped working when we lived in Casco Webbs Mills Maine.
The House is nice and needs lots of love. Could you please use a differend cameralens? The Fisheye is hard on the eyes. And spin a little slower, please. :)
Dairy barn Looks like it's stuck in a neighborhood surrounded by houses Probably the original farm house of a farm that was split up subdivided Does this place come with any land
Your videos have become a Saturday morning tradition for me.
Happy to hear that, I'll keep them coming!
@@ForeclosureFinder me too i love my saturdays with your videos and nice voice!!
Great old home with out buildings. Thanks for the tour! Once again you have a good knack for videoing these properties. Best wishes.
We appreciate the kind words and will keep them coming!
This house is exactly my style, I love it!

That large barn is an old dairy barn
Definitely an old dairy barn. 😍
@@leann9599 and it’s a gorgeous place. It’s a shame it doesn’t have all the acreage that you know it once had in the day.
Makes sense, it felt too small for something like horses. Appreciate the insight!

I agree - seeing those troughs on the ground reminded me of others I have seen.

It’s a dairy barn
Love that old front door.
looks like the "before" renovation video of our 1810 Farmhouse in Bristol Ct.
The house has a lot of charm for its age, and it is clean.

My wife would never go into that basement ever!! lol.
Wow, gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing. Neat place. FWIW you missed a room on the main level.
Love the radiators! Hope who ever buys doesn't get rid of them. And a the tub in the attic?! Bet that's an original to the house.
This property is beautiful. The only problem is it doesn't have enough doors to the outside. It's only got five, and I usually need at least six.😁
Houses were built to last back then. 👏
Nice home for a young family with lots of energy and good health. I sure wouldn't want to keep up with all the housekeeping!
Guessing the original basement floor was dirt. Lovely home. Hope someone purchases and restores it to its former beauty.

The barn is a dairy barn, the gravelled paths are troughs where the cow stalls were cleaned out.
I'm from the area...That was a DAIRY FARM..
BARN is for COWS 🐄🐄
Dairy barn, a lot of history there the weird no window area was probably a cheese house

Amen!! Those windows are, in a sense, irreplaceable. We had storm windows on our house(built in 1929) in Beacon Falls CT.
What is Listing Price. !

That's a tough livingroom to furnish. There's very little wall space
Cows not Horses there slick 🤠

I wonder if that was a dairy barn at one point, based the size
That seems to be the shared consensus
Dairy barn no horse stalls
Milking shed would be my guess
I know exactly were this is. I pass this house everyday on highland ave
Why is there a need for such a large water tank?
Windows are so low
I bet a cow barn
