They need to be a mechanic where killing everyone in a caravan would prevent any reputation hit or else going bandit on the NPCs would just be too costly. Overhype can balance that by having your own merc experience moral dilemmas instead.
REALLY a nice idea. Raiders, thieves, hedge knights, sellswords, killers on the run, and other ''morally arguable'' backgrounds would be less sad about it, while farmers, merchants and the like would have huge morale drops for days, and maybe even abandon the company. Some special encounters should have the same effect (like when you are given the chance to slaughter te caravan you are escorting). Also, if anyone of the raided party manages to escape, huge reputation loss (but also interesting renown gain) and relation with that faction/village/city istantly crumbles to the lowest possible. Another reason to add the ''ambush'' tactical possibility, so you start the battle with your brothers hiding in bushes around the road, and they are surrounding the ambushed enemies.
Wouldnt it be neat if there is a chance for positive morale change when allies start to back you up? Like with Carsten got some backup when he was out of position :P
Please consider the interaction between this mechanic and orc warbosses shouts+ orc warriors break through. Fighting orcs now is already something mostly done for the glory but if fights are going to be doomed to snowball every single time i don;t see many people bothering at all, what with the already crazy high repair costs.
I really like this mechanic and I think it is something exceptional, I never saw it before in any turn-based game, and it adds a wonderful depth to general morale mechanic and adds value for resolve stat, it requires a lot of balancing and improvement but in the end I think this can be a major innovative feature
This new resolve mechanic, seems like it could cause a lot of your BBs to start wavering withour offering any ways to recover except the ones already in game. Am I suppose to spam sergent inspire ability to counter this?
Yes, yes, it is all very good. But... this game is great because it allows you (if you can) to build any party with different types and different styles of play and different victory tactics, even over the same type of enemy. So - you CAN do ... now there is such situation that you MUST ...to have a banner and to have a sergeant with pipes. Is it good? I doubt.

Will the trade goods still be as profitable? Just running my own spice and ore routes earn me more money than most contracts. Also, would different food types have any effects in the game eventually? I hate to imagine the art team went to all the trouble and the only thing people ever buy is cheap grain.
Trading is still profitable, especially with the new city situations you can take advantage of. Still, the trading is only a small side aspect in a combat focused game. We wold love food to be more important but so far had bigger fish to fry to be honest.

Absolutely love the game but really struggling to make a decent run on veteran iron man. I had to fight 24 wiedergangers in an early game contract, managed to kill all but 5 before everyone routed. I missed so many +70% hits that it made me wonder whether that figure takes into account the enemy's chance to dodge or is it a separate roll?
i confirm this problem in an expert ironman i had. In particular with orcs, failing 70% hits in a row when a warrior is about to break your ranks or already did is a pain. Moreover i had one occurrence of an hostile swordmaster that i was surrounding with 5 of my men and the highest hit chance i was getting was 25%, my men being lvl 8 or more and with fast adaptation. It took me 20 hits to finally down him.
So, people could start their actual real campaign in 0.9 without missing whatever new things could appear in 1.0+ because the world was created in 0.9?
Well, some things like new contracts or items usually take time until the shops and contracts are refreshed but this is just a couple of days. I can not give a 100% guarantee on every single little feature though!
I hope when you finally get the 2500 for the standard the game does not automatically take them from you, i hope you have a choice for the exact time to pay. If not i see some awkward moments in the future and some broken keyboards at least. :)

Beheading is not a guarantee that they will not respawn since i had one undead coming back without head, just to say.

You will get the player banner soon that raises resolve around it, also "rally" ability can be used being an AoE ability that raises moral.

Have you played on the lower difficulty? Veteran is honestly pretty daunting and we are making some changes to it as we speak

Der Patch geht diese Woche in die Open Beta! Addons oder Expansions wären nice, aber dafür muss der Release erstmal gut laufen : )
