Hello, do you close your service yard door when you are using the solar function? If not, does the heat travel to other parts of your house and heat up the house substantially? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing about your experience using Steigen. I'm planning to get a Steigen for my house too but I can't decide between the solar and the solar ultra. I can't really find many videos online about the solar model too so just wondering from your experience so far, do you think the anti dust mite really makes a big difference? Were there times when you did not turn on the anti dust mite function and noticed any difference?
Surprising I use Bosch washing machine and dryer and I don't get any shrinkage at all dry fast also thy have the instructions to follow ... Bosch has the ironing function by itself i have no problem and I love my dryer worth investing been using it for 3 yrs alre washing machine 8 over yrs and still strong ... love the hot air smell jus like the sun when it done love love it... was lucky hubby do the self maintaining for me he watch the video follow open up certain part and able to keep the machine clean and fresh no smell on the machine or dryer... P.S. wash clothing ... use my dryer machine everyday electricity didn't goes up...
What's the power consumption like? I'm thinking if when I change washing machine, I should probably suck it up on the additional power consumption for a washer with built-in dryer.
Around 1 kWh per hour for solar drying From March to July it was quite sunny… I stop using the solar function. I measured specifically for this rack, the usage is 7-10kWh/mth just for going up and down. Based on a family size of 4 members, around 4 wash a week. Will post a screenshot on ig later
4-5 hr heating $$ energy solution. any energy free cost solution please? Hope govt have a 100 % grill retraceable gate so that I cam modify this system to the real Sun. Ideal solution is to have a bolcany?
Side question, do you have difficulty loading and unloading your dishwasher since it’s quite low. Or do you think it’s better to have it slightly higher with a stand below
Thats why it isnt really a good thing to leave the walls as it is. Having a dedicated mini area for laundry is nice. Also can add a dehumidifier. It works better with the walls unhacked Maybe a dryer would be great addition to to heavier and bigger stuff like bedsheet , comforters. Wow its smart too Has an app 😊
My pulley system failed within a year. I totally regretted not getting an auto ones like steigen ones. Then I got a dryer and I regret again because of shrinkage issue.
Usually colour clothes won’t shrink anymore. I use dryer bcoz I’m a lazy person. After drying clothes and keep them inside wardrobe. One time job. Unless service yard is my walk-in wardrobe, I will hang clothe there 😆
Can the Ikea hanger fit through the hole in the pole? If not can it hang on top of the pole properly? Also any idea if the dust in the fan can be cleaned?
My clothes hanger is the IKEA type as you can see in the video. Wide plastic handle. Can’t fit the hole. But it can hang over the pole. So far no scratches compared to the old system
i'll consider this system once my dryer/washer washing machine is died. Apparently, i install a wall fan instead, using hangers to hang the current hdb supplied rack, the pulley is set at a comfortable level (permanently), bang, saved me a thousand odd dollars..just sharing my thoughts!
Would a seperate dryer be more easier? dryer/washer is bound to have problem. I got a dryer and mount on top of my washer. No need to hang and let them dry. After wash and spin, just put into the dryer and dry.
The pulley system in BTO is really troublesome &😵 annoying but it works as intended thou. Its just a cheaper alternative to the one in the video. If mine gets spoiled, maybe I might consider this one😇.I do like the expansion mode.
i want to buy this for my family but i cant convince my family to be on board...they think that a dryer is better than this...! i just cant fathom them a dryer 24/7 for everything. what do you think?
Dryer is fast.. but I don’t use the often. Feels like a lot of electricity wastage. If the weather is good, I will just hang over the poles. If it doesn’t dry before the next batch then I switch on the blower
Im curious abt the maintenance required. For ceiling fans, the more u use the faster and the more dust collects on the blade. Is it easy to clean this? How often? Also, do u keep yr service yard windows closed most of the time? Thanks!
I did consider before this, some designs doesn’t suit my laundry needs. 1. The direction of the poles are shorter, hard to hang 3 set of beddings? 2. For those without poles in between, it’s hang to hang a full load daily clothes. 3. It’s a big piece and then trouble of finding someone who knows how to install it. Not sure how safe it is, will it drop? So I didn’t get it. I’m unlikely to take it down, install another rack and clean up the dust again…
Yep a lot of neighbors had problem with it dropping too. As my family grows, there’s more clothes Imagine doing half load a day to match the old system
What is the rational of keeping the service yard ceiling lighting when this rack alr has its own light? Is it because the clothes would blocked the light? I'm thinking of keeping the ceiling light or use the electrical point for rack.
Does the room get super warm when the solar alpha is in operation? 60 degrees for the solar alpha seems really hot Also, how noisy/quiet is it? What made you decide to get the alpha over the ultra? I am super torn on which model to get
Not sure why I can't add a comment so I'll just reply to one comment. I don't have a separate laundry area like yours which has a door so I wanted to know if this steigen alpha will introduce heat to the area that it's used in?
Hello, do you close your service yard door when you are using the solar function? If not, does the heat travel to other parts of your house and heat up the house substantially? Thanks!
sadly there are better models out there but consumers only know one brand in the market
How much more in electrical bill? You talked about a heating element in the system. All I’m hearing is $$$$. Lol

I see that you used some transparent hooks to hang the clothes? Mind asking what are the hooks and where I can get them?
Hi, when I on the solar alpha, so do I need the windows open or closed?

I measured it today 0.9kWh for 1 hour of hot air. Posted screenshot on ig @madsncakes
@@madsncakes thanks, that’s pretty good compared to a dryer I believe.
It’s like you read my mind! Been thinking about installing a drying rack due to recent rainy season. And then u made this video! 😊

Solar panels
Side question, do you have difficulty loading and unloading your dishwasher since it’s quite low. Or do you think it’s better to have it slightly higher with a stand below
Higher will be easier to unload load
just wondering how did ur questions come about even before the video release? IG?
Yes ig stories! Join me @madsncakes for future video q&a!

My pulley system failed within a year. I totally regretted not getting an auto ones like steigen ones. Then I got a dryer and I regret again because of shrinkage issue.
Same shrinkage issue for me, I use the dryer only once in a while
Usually colour clothes won’t shrink anymore. I use dryer bcoz I’m a lazy person. After drying clothes and keep them inside wardrobe. One time job. Unless service yard is my walk-in wardrobe, I will hang clothe there 😆
Shrink my kids socks too. Maybe it is this dryer’s problem. Very wrinkly too. And I don’t bother to iron…
Pls share which brand of dryer is good
Washer buy Korea brand. Dryer buy euro or US brand. I’m using whirlpool.

How about electrical consumption when solar is used? Will it be as bad as The Central Water Heater system?
Hi! does amazon Alexa supports this or only HomeKit? thank you and awesome video.
i'll consider this system once my dryer/washer washing machine is died. Apparently, i install a wall fan instead, using hangers to hang the current hdb supplied rack, the pulley is set at a comfortable level (permanently), bang, saved me a thousand odd dollars..just sharing my thoughts!
As long as it works for you, I don’t see why not!
Does the heat generated travels to the kitchen and dining area? Is it noisy at night when you are drying the laundry? What is noise dB?
Hot air rises...the heating element is on top, the base of the clothings will jus be drying normally.
Hi Mads. Unable to fully vocal control? Like 'down the rack' , 'on heating 3 hrs' etc....
Would a seperate dryer be more easier? dryer/washer is bound to have problem. I got a dryer and mount on top of my washer. No need to hang and let them dry. After wash and spin, just put into the dryer and dry.

Ya mafan pull up and down. I forgot to mention steigen got a few models at diff prices.
@@madsncakes oh ok, that's great👍 ..yeah la..somemore, need to be of an angle to pull it down😭.
Sometimes I missed that angle
And it goes tuck tuck tuck
But good exercise for the hands thou.
Eye hand coordination improves greatly. ...kekeke😆
Well, I still prefer my dryer. It has been years, w no problem.
Hi Mads! I have a Steigen Alpha as well. However, is the fan design to blow at a fix direction?
i want to buy this for my family but i cant convince my family to be on board...they think that a dryer is better than this...! i just cant fathom them a dryer 24/7 for everything. what do you think?

I close it when I run the fan. I believe the dust should be like what you said, hard to clean…
i know is sponsored. but can we have xiao mi laundry rack review ?. isnt it cheaper if buy from taobao instead.
I’m unlikely to take it down, install another rack and clean up the dust again…
can you hang like those hangers "with multiple giaps" and bedsheet hanger (from taobao - those circular ones)?
Not very sure what u meant
Full load of your wash is 9kg but laundry will be damp thus why extra weight and probably messed up your previous system
Yep a lot of neighbors had problem with it dropping too.
As my family grows, there’s more clothes
Imagine doing half load a day to match the old system
@@madsncakes this video really had me sold, purchasing my alpha soon as soon as key collection
hi there, wanted to check do i need to pre-install a power point at the ceiling for this to work ?
No need
They will do the trunking to nearest point for you
Does it really make the clothes soft n fluffy when it dries ?
I don’t use softener and my clothings when it dries.. is not that fluffy
What is the rational of keeping the service yard ceiling lighting when this rack alr has its own light? Is it because the clothes would blocked the light?
I'm thinking of keeping the ceiling light or use the electrical point for rack.
Yes might be blocked if the existing light is in the middle
@@madsncakes is the rack light bright enough at night without needed to turn in the ceiling light?
May i ask if the Steigen can be controlled via Google Home?
No
whats the electrical bill like after using it ?
1kWh for one hour of hot air drying
If just going up and down, up to 10kWh per month. Based on my readings
@@madsncakes did u see an increase in bills ? every month ?
Does the room get super warm when the solar alpha is in operation? 60 degrees for the solar alpha seems really hot
Also, how noisy/quiet is it? What made you decide to get the alpha over the ultra? I am super torn on which model to get
It does in a closed area
When using the solar function, does the plastic clothes hanger run a risk of melting? Or should stick to a metal hanger
I’m using plastic ones… didn’t melt. It’s not that high temperature that it will melt the plastic
Not sure why I can't add a comment so I'll just reply to one comment. I don't have a separate laundry area like yours which has a door so I wanted to know if this steigen alpha will introduce heat to the area that it's used in?
