    By making a spring-themed fantasy over-dress, it would be a beautiful outfit for the doll. Maybe something with a flowy skirt.

    The stitch you used for the elastic is called 3-step zig zag :) You can use a tapestry or wool needle to thread elastic if you dont have an elastic bodkin too. Your machine sews like a dream! Mine would just eat that sheer fabric. Your idea of loops is genius!

      My machine has several! It has zigzags that are one, two, three, and four stitches.

    this is so pretty!!!! definitely going to try it out, i think even on f60s the f65 size would look fine if you’re going for a really drapey look since the elastic would be custom to the doll size.. i think in that case the bust casing would be better too. and it’d look so pretty with a second sheer layer too 😩 so many ideas!!! thank you so much for sharing!! 🙏

    This is lovely! It reminds me of an 18th century chemise a la reine. I bet the pattern could be adapted to it. I don't have any girls and my boys would all be horrified to wear one so I won't be doing it but If I have a girl I would try. Thank you!

      Oh, it probably could be adapted pretty easily! I'm tempted to try to make a more masculine shirt/tunic type version XD

    From an doll clothes maker I got a great hint for elastic. Use a small bobbypin snip a small hole in the elastic and slip it on the bobbypin. It has the coated ends and smaller than a pin.

      It can be difficult to use, that's for sure. But oh, I love how it looks when it's done.

    Making this today out of a thicker material so I took off a couple inches from the front. Hoping it'll keep the bulk down on the front and back. I'll tag you on Instagram when it's done.

    I am glad I watched this video as I am very thankful that you explained machine settings and stitch methods in this video because all I ever get from sewing videos is "overlock" "finish with a zigzag edge" um... ok but how do I line the fabric up for that? what stitch length do I use? What the heck is a gathering stitch? So after watching a couple more of these tutorials I went and played around with my machine on a scrap of fabric, and wrote down what settings gave me the results I think are good. Gonna waste a lot more thread but I think it'll be worth it to not have all these raw edges anymore in any of my projects, my size or for the dolls. Thank you Lomi!

    Have you seen Jointed Designs design of an adorable jacket? It's so cute want to give it a try? I just need to find the right fabric's so I can make one for my miniself doll as a night robe.
    I am planning making her a new pair of PJ's since the first one's didn't come out the way I want them to look. So hopefully my new pair would look nice along with a pair of night slippers.
    Do you know how to make cute slippers? I used Raven Queen from Ever After High as a base to make myself & she came out perfect just the way I want her to look as a
    Ice Wizard since I like playing Wizard101.

    I have a huge 1/2 or 78cm bjd type doll, can this pattern be upped to fit her, will be trying to make a period costume fit her & can see it bring a chemise outfit before I put either a corset or stays over it..

      I am sure it could be resized :) I don't know the exact dimensions as it varies from doll to doll, though.

    im a beginner so where exactly are the arm holes? do you have a more step by step version of this tutorial since i dont know all the terminology or could you upload a version without it being sped up?

    • @LomisPlayground
      @LomisPlayground  2 года назад +2

      The arm holes are just where the sleeve connects for the arm to go through--in this particular pattern, they're just the J shaped curves at the sides of the top. They connect to the J shaped curve in the sleeves so the top/shoulder part of the dress will stay open.
