yeah kinda bad advise, you need to start with normal push ups at the very least to build up the supporting muscles you need before trying this exercise.
Correct it's kinda bad advice, it's okay to put your hand progressively until you can do it inline with the hips. This guy giving advice to people that already can do some planche. 🙃
@@nnnmsglchen4445 nah its not THAT hard its a progression towards the planche, being able to do like 10 good form push ups should be enough to do atleast one pseudo push up

@@kene6660 the issue, asyou know, is leverages. To pull it off, a tall person would have to get fantastically light. Which is going to affect capacity for strength.
@@omp365 I'm 6ft and can't do a planche myself, but I think it is completely possible with the right training and genetics. It definitely helps being lean, but the thing with being tall is that everything kinda scales up. Everything growths pretty proportionally. A problem would probably be joint and tendon strength but that can always be improved.
It does help if you have skinny legs, but at the same time it's still difficult. Psuedopush ups are still hard with skinny legs because legs doesn't have an effect if your feet are on the ground
@@adrianzatko4018 but tbf, top athletes in any sport are trying to do anything to have that slight advantage. And in calisthenics it's to not train legs. But for a marathon runner, they stay light as possible to not require more mass to run with. They do whatever to get to the top
@@platypus1384 the problem I have is that this video is sort of how to do ,so you have to take into consideration that he is talking to average people who might try and apply his method because they are learning how to do this plank but if someone has great physique but also has normal size legs or bigger he or she will struggle.
Same argument people make with straight arm movements(lateral raise etc) I believe, every movement is functional, some movements you just gotta be more careful. Straight arm strength translates to bent at the elbow strength, but not vice versa. Also, levers, the more you bend your arm on a lateral raise it's equivalent to more weights you can raise. But you can just reduce the weight and increase the tension with a straighter arm. Best train all, some movements with delicacy and others with ferocity.
