The road looked like rt 50 or W.blvd in F.C. i flashed stage 2 a couple of days ago and really love it but after watching your video im gonna try stage 3 this weekend. Be safe out there
Yeah the 3rd mode is crazy just hope it doesn't put stress on the car
The car can handle 900hp+ on stock turbos easily. You won’t have any issues.
yup the fastest x3m with stock turbos is going 9.8 1/4 with full interior also@@pculton4

just stick to the xhp stage 2 tune it is the best option and still shifts quick

What was that ticking sound on 4:28 ? Extended for a few seconds when you were turning!
Left my x3m stock, its fast enough, not worth the extra maintenance, insurance costs, wear and tear, more gas etc......already faster than 95% of cars on the road, love it. So what if i get to 160mph asecond faster i dont race this car for a living. Jmho
Did you use the same tune as the Supra? Mine is defaulting to the (Supra/g series) option after adding my VIN. There is another 8 speed option listed. Thanks!
Think I answered your question on instagram but yes it is the same. The option is called ZF8 (Supra/G Series). The other option is for DCT cars.
love the car, hows the ride quality, i heard it pretty harsh, springs or coilovers many people have recommened to improve handling and ride, do you plan on doing that?
ride quality is definitely aggressive. I think I am planning on doing the MSS HAS kit
Dang she moves! 👊 Have you replaced the differential mount bolt yet that's prone to stretching and breaking? I'm looking into trading my M40i for one of these and saw that it can be an issue 😢
Not yet, going to make a video on that shortly. Still investigating a couple different products that are available. I actually haven’t launched the car since I bought it because of this concern

I got a Thor dongle to flash xhp for my G82, but every time I connect to it, it says “could not establish connection”. When I follow the instructions and enter a manual ip address my phone wont connect to the OBD Wi-Fi anymore. Any advice?

I’m sorry I wouldn’t have any insight there besides making sure your carplay / car is not taking over and kicking the dongle off the connection
Are the individually flashed or can it be change with the shift settings on the gear selector
in stage 3 the settings on the gear selector change the aggressiveness of the shifting
Which one did you chose when purchasing? The g8x 8 speed or just 8speed?
8 speed, x3/4m is F series (F97/F98)

I just bought this for my m5 f90 and i feel like 1-4 gear is super jerky and I feel like the transmission can even be clunking but not sure. Is that hoe yours feels even on the littles gear change?
Yes it does feel a bit jerky at lower speeds try the 2nd drivelogic setting and shifting at a bit higher of an RPM that normal and it will be a bit smoother. I noticed that if you try to shift in the lower gears at low RPM with medium throttle it will definitely be jerky. Higher RPM with medium throttle or heavy throttle will be smooth
Do you think there will be a lot more wear and tear with the transmission upgrade?

A lot, no, but more wear in general, probably yes. In my understanding of ZF8 gearboxes, more wear occurs as the car makes more and more torque. When I had the 50HP, cars making above 600 torque were constantly going through stock transmissions before builds and 70HP swaps were discovered. I haven’t really heard much of anything about how the quicker shifts or increased line pressure has affected wear, but i’m sure it does to some extent.
@@yancarloscarrion8060it 100% affects wear. Bmw doesn't care if you break your car from tuning, they'll gladly take your money if you're dumb enough to take it to a dealer.
When you tune a bmw, you accept that things will fail earlier. That's the way it goes.
I had xhp stage 3 for like the last two weeks, in my opinion it is way too harsh and aggressive. Almost doesn’t feel good. Went to stage 2, haven’t driven it yet but I’ve talked to a few other x3m owners and they all recommended stage 2 over 3
Yeah I have switched back to stage 2
In stage 3 D2 you can’t do launch control so on D3 it would put the hurt to the trans

Yes it will, I had JB4 on my 335 with xHP
I just got my X3 M40i back from the tuners (Stage 2) - didn't do the XHP flash yet. My friends driving a Pana turbo S said the transmission was a little slow (lol, all what you're used to I guess) but I have heard this is an almost mandatory upgrade after the HP increase. Question: Were you running Stage 3 (in 3 different varations?) or did you actually switch back to Stage 2.
It was all in Stage 3. Maybe I explained it poorly but when I was talking about the 3 different variations I was referring to the 3 drivelogic modes all in stage 3. The drivelogic modes are the 3 transmission modes (those white bars) that are adjustable via the gear selector. With XHP stage 3, the shift aggressiveness is variable depending on which drivelogic mode the car is in. In the video I was talking about how I preferred the 2nd drivelogic mode far better than the 3rd, which I found to be a bit jerky and very aggressive. Hope this helps!

I'd like to get the tune so the ZF8 can handle the new torque values, but want to continue to keep smooth transitions - don't need headbangs in each gearshift :D @@straight6kris
