Always such great content and reviews from this channel. For games I'm playing , PS4 - Gems of War, WWE 2k16 Ps3 - LEgo Jurassic World 360 - Terminator Salvation and Xbone - Bioshock Triology Remastered. Knows it not any RPG's but still got to make that progress through the backlog and all. Keep up all the amazing work and hope you're having a wonderful day.

Honestly, this Series of Videos you do are my favorites to watch :D I recently went back to watch some older videos of this series and they feel kind of like a small time capsule! Keep it going!

Ah, that makes me so happy to hear, I love that kind of time capsule stuff! haha The further I get into making it, the more I realise how cool it is I can look back on years of gameplay anytime, so I'm glad others feel the same way. I will keep it going :D thank you!

I'm SO looking forward to CryMachina. Crystar was such an unexpectedly fantastic experience, so I can't wait to see how they've improved on everything since then.

This time around I finished playing P3P, kept on playing some EO4 and started playing Tales of Vesperia on the switch. I really enjoyed the music and story themes of P3P, with the highlight of the game of course being the social links (of which my favorite one was Akinari). I also enjoyed the dungeon crawling, but I found that I didn’t really wish to explore the fusions as much in this one as you can’t decide which skills the demons inherit, differently to other SMT games. I’ve also enjoyed what little I’ve played of vesperia, but I do think that when it comes to action rpgs I prefer combat more akin to the Ys series. Yuri is quite a great protagonist and the party interactions have been really good so far.

I've been working on my backlog too, and am about halfway through Trails to Azure... but then Baldur's Gate 3 came out and it'll be western RPG for me for a while yet.

Glad you're feeling better Tara! :)
I've been holding off any and all games since Baldurs Gate 3 (for PS5 that is) is coming out on my birthday so i'll be playing that! I did dabble a bit into Sword and Fairy Together Forever and i hope to finish that eventually but besides that nothing else haha.
Happy to see you're back and hopefully doing well :) as always, stellar work :)

I'm a hardcore Rhapsody fan, and honestly- thats the only release i've been really hyped for this year. If you start from the first game, I would caution that the game is insanely easy. I think the plot is extremely heartfelt and lovable(and sometimes dark); which makes up for it. But the low budget dungeons and the games difficulty is normally where some people lose interest. Rhapsody was NISA's very first RPG, so don't expect too much from it's gameplay. I've never gotten to play the second and third game, but i've heard they they improved the overall experience in those. But Rhapsody(the first game) is definitely something you should experience from start to finish. It's one of those games that lives rent free in my mind two decades later.

In July, I did my first playthrough of FF16, Istrated Star Ocean First Departure R and played some Monster Sanctuary on the side. This month, I'm doing my second playthrough of FF16 and Star Ocean xD I also started Nier Automata. I hope I'll finish FF16, Star Ocean and Monster Sanctuary before Sea of Stars comes out at the end of the month. But with only two weeks left, I don't think I'm going to make it.
My backlog grew substantially by buying all the Trails games from Zero to Reverie. I'm really excited to start Zero since I finished the Sky trilogy earlier this year. But there's also so many other cool games in the backlog. Star Ocean 1 and 3 have been in my backlog for quite a while, so I decided to finish the first one before the remake of the second one comes out later this year. I really loved the trailer for naked Ichiban for the next Like a Dragon game, but I've never played any games in the series, so I decided I should play Yakuza Like a Dragon too this year.

Ooo, the Rhapsody Marl Kingdom Chronicles are actually part two and three of the series! The original, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, is available on Switch and Steam, it originally came out for the PlayStation 1.
In July, I finally finished Tales of Vesperia! It was a blast, and I may go back later to do some of the postgame stuff.
I also made some decent progress in Breath of Fire III and impulse-started Grandia II. The first Grandia is one of my favorite games, but I barely played the sequel until now

I saw that while making this video haha I knew I’d seen Rhapsody somewhere before. No matter, I’m happy to at least try these as they come out to see if it like them. If I do, I’ll go from the first one haha
And awesome progress! I hope to get to Grandia one day too, I hear it’s a classic :)

In July, I played and beat FF16. I enjoyed it's story and gameplay. Next I started playing and almost finish playing Trails in the Sky. I played the PSP version a really long time ago and years later beat Cold Steel pt 1 on PS3. I bought all the Trails releases but hadn't played any except those two. So, I finally decided to go through the whole series starting at the beginning with Trails in the Sky on PC. On the side, I'm playing Honkai Star Rail and Genshin (catching up in anticipation for the Fontaine release next week).

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. At the start of the month I played Gurumin due to it being very short as I wanted to keep most of July committed to Reverie. Wanted to play Marie but it’s kinda gotten pushed back for the time being as there’s so many new releases I’m looking forward to in next couple months. Rhapsody, Nayuta, Crymachina, and currently trying to get caught up on Utawarerumono in time for Monochrome Mobius.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell. Hope you are better now ☺My main games for July were FF16 (got the Platinum) and also Trails into Reverie (finished the story but working on the Plat). I have also been playing Pokemon Arceus on and off. I started Atelier Marie Remake but it hasn't grabbed me (will go back to it though). Really no idea what will be next. Might be something I missed before.

Now that I have finished Reverie, I can say it does indeed spoil that thing from Azure I was worrying about, near the very end. So it is a good thing you seem to be looking to go back to the older game first. If you're still at Chapter 3, I have a feeling once you get midway through it, the story will pull you through the rest of the game pretty quickly.

I feel like summer can be a time when we are drained mentally along with exhaustion.
Glad you still were able to play!
I've finished Reverie story, great but unsurprised to be honest.
I won't finish my run on atelier marie, i don't take enjoyement out of it.
    Too shallow.
I might go back to xenoblade 3 or something else. Havnt decided yet.
I'm still playing star rails everyday tho, i enjoy it very much!

I completely agree with Summer, the heat is kind of exhausting 😅
Well done on Reverie, I can’t wait to finish that too (likely Azure first though :3)
The temptation to try Star Rail sometime is definitely there too, good to hear you’re having fun :))

I knocked out FF16 like I'd planned for July, but I haven't done the second run yet. Might put it off. Still working on Octopath 2, here and there. Sea of Stars is going to interrupt that. I'd still like to play that remade Atelier Marie since it seems like a good one to jump into.
I really enjoyed the Crystar story all the way to the end. But the player will see all the gameplay they're going to see very early on in what is a 40 hour game. So if they keep the same story talent and improve the gameplay, I'm interested to check out Crymachina.
I played Akiba's Trip a while back but didn't finish. The story was surprisingly well acted for the silly premise, but I got a bit bored of the gameplay.
I'd be interested in the Rhapsody games (I tried one at PaxEast) but because the first one's not on Playstation, I'll pass. Even if they're not needed, I like to play games in order. WHICH IS WHY I WANT THE TRAILS IN THE SKY GAMES TO COME TO THE PSN SO I CAN START THAT SERIES.

  • @TrulyEikonic

FF16's eaten up almost all my gaming time since it came out. Looking back, it's crazy that I actually finished the story before the end of June. Right now, I've 89 hours on it and I'm taking my sweet time playing NG+ with the Japanese audio.
Did my best to save up wishes for Kafka throughout these months, and now that I have her, I don't have to touch Honkai Star Rail until its PS5 release later this year. Seriously, her character trailer was so awesome.
You just reminded me that I need to check out the Crymachina demo I downloaded. It's just been sitting on my PS5 untouched. Lol. Let's see if it can be more than Nier Automata lite.
Also, it looks like the time has *finally* arrived..... hopefully... we should be getting a Granblue Fantasy Relink release date next month. Aside from Like a Dragon Gaiden, I guess that's all this year has to offer me in terms of Japanese games.

I briefly picked up Kingdom Hearts 2 again. Gave it about an hour, enjoyed it all over again, but for some reason I can't rationalize with myself playing it for the fourth or fifth time. Just feel more guilt than anything, like I should be chewing through my backlog instead.
I decided I'm done with FF16. I can't stomach it any longer. Threw in the towel at about 19 hour mark.
Other than those two, I've just been playing a lot of FFXIV and Sniper Elite 5 (non-JRPG, I know).

    • @JRPGJungle

I know that feeling, even if I wanna be like “Just do it!” Haha
I often think of completing FFX’s sphere grid or something and I’m never able to justify it lol maybe when you get sick or something you can slam it haha
Glad to hear you’re enjoying other stuff! Interesting re your FFXVI experience; I’ll of course get back to it at some point but goodness it has mixed reception lol

    • @javiermontiero4982
      @javiermontiero4982 11 месяцев назад +1

@@JRPGJungle for what it's worth, FF16 isn't necessarily a bad game, in my opinion. But I do strongly feel it is a terrible FF game, and even a bad JRPG. Had they just named it anything else, I'd feel less contentious about it. But knowing that's what is going to be the new direction of my all-time favorite franchise moving forward, that's what kills me. At this point, id settle for another FF15 because at least that one had some semblance of JRPG to it.
Good luck on that sphere grid daydreaming. I often lie to myself about beating X-2. I enjoy that game but for whatever reason, I never make it more than 8 to 10 hours in.
Anyway, get well soon (if you aren't better already).

    • @JRPGJungle
      @JRPGJungle  10 месяцев назад +1

Sphere grid daydreaming, I love that, it's my life lol and I can already see that from FFXVI from the demo as it did feel different. But I'm keeping an open mind till I fully get to it. I'd love another FF15, but I loved that game soo lol
And I managed to finish X-2 100% twice in high school, but I could absolutely never see myself doing it again lol I'm always glad I did it back then. I tried to pick it up when it was rereleased and I think only spent a few hours, whereas I can fully finish X if I put my mind to it, maybe cause the story is better, idk. X-2 is a funny game lol and thank you, I'm much better now! :D

My biggest focus RPG wise in July were Eiyuden Chronicle Rising on PS4, Paper Mario Sticker Star and Shining Force The Sword of Hajya on 3DS (the latter being a Game Gear that was released on the now-dead eShop) and Honkai Star Rail on mobile while I wait for its PS4/5 version.
I've only finished the first 2 and am about halfway through Shining Force, and a little bit into HSR's first chapter.
As for my plans in August, I'm gonna focus back on handhelds while also updating my HSR progress until I reach the Global version's ''cap'' in the main narrative.
Once I'm done with Danganronpa V3 (finally lol), my PSVita will be mostly used for Tales of Hearts R, Ys Memories of Celceta and 1 more I've yet to choose.
With my 3DS, I'll finish up Pokémon Y and the aforementioned Shining Force game.
